Grace's POV
——
Amara perched on the bed, cackling as she retrieved the jewelry box concealed beneath the mattress, ensuring that worthless man outside wouldn't discover it and pawn it for quick money later.
Amara snatched a fistful of jewelry from the container and snickered, "Hehe, I'll stun her tomorrow with these pieces. I'm certain she'll get furious and make a fool of herself in front of Carlos!"
——
I rose early that morning. After a restful night's sleep, I was eager to begin another workday.
This sensation hadn't visited me in ages, so I was absolutely savoring the feeling.
Relief washed over me when I didn't spot Amara lurking by my apartment entrance as she typically did. It appeared that Amara had grasped her position after receiving a slap and kick to the face.
So I headed to the office and was first welcomed by Vita, who encountered me by chance as I stepped into the main lobby.
