Grace's POV
"Go ahead," I said, my eyes steady and fearless. "I'll simply report that you're trespassing. This apartment belongs to me, got it?"
"B—But you promised I could stay here too!"
"That's changed," I smiled coldly. "At worst, I'll tell them you attacked me first, so I had to defend myself."
"What the hell—You're making that up! You can't prove any of that!" I watched Amara scream, her face marked with bruises, probably convinced the police would side with her.
"Just like you—where's your evidence that I caused those marks?" I replied, watching Amara's face fall as the reality hit her. She had no proof of tonight's events either. "Actually, you'll always be in the wrong if we involve the police. You're the one who broke into private property."
I could see Amara clench her jaw, rage written all over her face as she seemed to realize she was powerless against me. I watched the defeat settle in her eyes, probably fueling her desire for revenge.
