Andrew's POV
"Accompany you?" Vita's frown deepened. "Why would I do that, Sir? You're a grown man who can handle things alone, and I work for Mr. Benjamin and Mrs. Preston—you have your own assistant."
Her cutting response caught me completely off guard. I understood Vita's hostility toward me stemmed from her ignorance about my mission-driven involvement with Amara.
"You're meant to help and supervise my work here," I replied. "That's exactly what your boss, Mrs. Preston, instructed us earlier."
"Ugh..." Vita could only grit her teeth in frustrated silence. She knew he was right. Her assignment was to assist and oversee my duties as Co-Manager, but spending more time around Amara and me was the last thing she wanted. Watching them act affectionate and intimate disgusted her.
