Aurora's point of view.
"He's your half brother?."
I let out am sudden lump formed in my throat.
He immediately brushed his hand across his hair.
"See Aurora, I can really tell but… that is my brother's name," He smirked, banging the table.
"I'm Alex Franklin and my half brother is Peter Franklin, gosh! this can't be happening." He smacked. I guess I've never seen this side of Alex, his muscles were tensed, the veins on his forehead were protruding as he suddenly became all puffy and reddened.
"Was he already marking his territory?"
I muttered with shaky hands as I tried to let him relax.
"Just maybe, he might not be the one, I just need you to relax please, don't ruin our happy moment please, seat so we could talk things through."
"God tell him that if I catch him any inch close to you tomorrow at the mistletoe, he mustn't come near, make that promise to me now!!." He smacked, as I watched his voice grow stronger and stronger.
The imposing surroundings were so tense that I had to take a sip of my win.
"Please calm down, you're getting all roared up and it doesn't fit you.
I know he hurt me so badly but this is supposed to be a moment of celebration for our families and not a sort of Family feud."
"Do not!Aurora, do not, make me angry." I watch him point a finger at me, I guess he must really have a high temperament.
I assumed, then took a deep breath.
"You must call off everything you have with him, just imagine, he wanted a reunion but you made it first here before him, doesn't that tell you this isn't genuine.?"
I swallowed hard.
"Alex, My Mr Random, I still feel we could sort these out without bickering and shouting, I'm just a simple girl who loves her average life as a photographer and Artist. I wouldn't want to come in between brothers so please sit."
His muscles unclenched as his breathing began to return to normal, soon , he sneaked into the recliner.
"Aurora, look at me, I'm a CEO, my company deals with fabric, fashion, Art , exactly where you fit it, with that you can actualize your dreams and become so famous that no one would dim your shine or treat you as trash."
"Look here Alex, I know you mean well for me but please if you don't mind give me time, a little time, I need to think about this whole ordeal, I need to do everything possible not to ruin tomorrow's reunion, please." I pleaded soberly as my heart melted like love candles surrounded by honey bees.
I stood up, grabbing my purse.
"Room 191, the last floor, should be in case you need to talk."
I said as I turned to leave.
Just then, I felt his hand pull me backwards, the warmness of our body meeting each other as he cupped me from behind brushing his lips against mine. We kissed, then I brushed off his mouth softly, weeping as I ran upstairs, soaked; this was our first childhood kiss ever.
I banged the door l, clamping its lock.
I fell freely on the bed, unzipped my dress then ran into the shower; I needed a hot bath to cool off.
"So this means Peter is his half brother, gosh!." The realization of this only made me more confused and for the fact that the whole family including Peter would be here tomorrow…this is just too much for the holiday." I muttered as I snatched my towel drying my body vehemently, then threw it over the dressing table not minding.
"Hmm!,"my breathing huggard , as I slowly brushed my hand through my hair; wanting combing , I quickly pulled my blonde hair up and gave it a tight grip with my purple ribbon. Purple was my favourite colour but I cared less about it at the moment.
Alex's point of view.
I stood as I watched her cover her mouth, the way she broke into tears only made me feel guilty.
"Was I too hard on her? Was my expression brooding?." I questioned myself, as I hurriedly took in the last gulp from the straw.
"Should I go meet her now? Or give her some time." No I don't think so because if I were in her shoes I would demand some time to be left alone so I think I should let her sleep over the matter, maybe tomorrow." I pondered, my lips pressed firmly with my hand on my chin.
I pulled out my phone to call my secretary before remembering she had just resigned, so I called my colleague ,who was a florist.
"Arrange a banquet of flowers with some beautifully decorated flowers around, and add a mixture of purple." I concluded before hanging up.
"I still remembered how she almost fought when her purple bag was stolen, she cried all day and tried fighting her classmates but thanks to God it was found later the next day, hmm! She must really have a thing with purple, I just pray she accepts my gift and allows me to court her tomorrow at the mistletoe."
Just before I retired to bed, I needed to make one call.
"You strike the moment you notice anything….. Peter must not come near Aurora tomorrow."
I hung up the call as I grabbed my phone; my keys on my index finger, the ID number in my hand read "Room 190, the last floor just next to Aurora as I prayed for a good response at dawn.
