Lucas
I watched my ball hit the novel off her hand, some pages ripped off- a debut vampire series. She turned to me, her gaze strong and knuckles white.
I paused, holding my both knees at the soccer goalpost. She's approaching me, fierce and fiesty. The other opponents cleared off as her feet matched upon the ground like she was going to tear me into shreds. Her both friends, Amber and Jessica following her from behind- her little minions. When she was few inches from me. She paused, clenching her left fist to her side whilst the other pointing to my face.
"Must you always show up unannounce and ruin people's day?" She's calm at first, giving a stern irritating look. Amber and Jessica folded their arms as they stared right back at me.
"I'm sorry. It was a mistake. You and your friends were-"
" Hey! You know what. You see that debut novel you just ruined. Both in class, during leisure time, in any gathering. Anything at all. Don't you ever show yourself again." She pointed towards me, her tossuled hair overpowering her throbbed vein as with cheeks that burn in anger. For a minute, I thought she was gonna throw a punch.
"I'm sorry please..." I try to plead, my eyes staring into hers. She didn't blink.
"Let's get out of here!" She finally say casting one last look at me that sent my shoulders crushing down.
At this time. My friend,Jason was already trying to piece the pages together but she snatched it off his hand ruining it completely. As she stamped her feet, her first fingers snapped and her lips muttered curse words.
"Honestly. This new girl is something else." Jason said. And I lowered my head to the ground, my both hands on my waist as I watched her exit the field. Her lanky body and small ass gangling and shifting side to side. A laughter erupted from my mouth.
"What's funny Lucas?" I didn't pay him any attention. I kept smiling until there were no traces of her footprints anywhere in the school field.
"Don't tell me you did that unpurpose? Jason ask, his eyes winced at me.
"No Jason. It's was a mistake!" I turn to face him. "We were playing the ball and it got to her. It's wasn't my fault."
"Then stop laughing! You really need to avoid that girl, she overly dramatic."
"You can say that again." I teased, a cocky smile playing across my lips.
"You look so excited. You should be thinking of how to fix this mess. And get her novel back!"
"Ah! That's true. Did you grab the name of the book again?"
"Mmm.. I think Vampire diaries…You could go ask her friends to confirm."
"Her friends!!!... They wouldn't even spare me a moment. They are always all around her like a pest!"
"You're a gentle guy you shouldn't let her little drama get to you. Get her the novel and set things straight. Cos that babe…she's very angry."
"I guess she has a major obsession with vampire novels."
"Oh come of it. That's what girls do. Read trending novels and talk madly about it all day in school."
"You're right. Since she came in this past few weeks, she's been all about this vampire diary talk with a couple of her clings."
"Honestly. I do feel you should sort things out with her. I mean…is to early to be having issues already."
He tossed the ball to me, the bell rings and everyone returned back to class.
While in class I tried to avoid eye contact with her as I engaged in random topics of discussion with Jason and some couple of friends. She's at the front slantly opposite our seats.
"What do you think about the new girl Stephanie?" I hear someone whisper to Jason.
"Too fiesty I guess." Jason replied and another, "unnecessarily dramatic." And the other "I think there's more to her than this." I just pressed in my ears as I paid attention contributing little to nothing.
My eyes were focused on the way she speaks, the way her lips synced up and down. Her sexy eyes. Her hair and mannerisms. Everything was just screaming trouble and clear boundaries.
Jason tapped me by my shoulders but I didn't even notice. I was locked in. And when her eyes occasionally met mine. I try to focus my gaze back to Jason.
"Gosh! She's so hot." I muttered, rearranging unimaginary books in my locker in order to distract myself and not make her notice my constant stare.
But my muscles twitched and knees buckled. I didn't fully understand what was happening to me.
"Was my inner wolf trying to say something?"
I paused but could barely hear anything. And when I resumed arranging my backpack and locker. My inner wolf lunched again. This time stronger than the last. I pushed myself up dashing into the restroom. I couldn't hold it any longer.
She pulled her palm and smacked it up to her lips laughing so hard as I passed.
"Was she mocking me?" I whispered, my eyes turning back at every step.
I dragged my feet to the restroom, my heart running in circles. I didn't know why I was loosing my cool over Stephanie. Maybe because I've never seen someone as outspoken as her. All my life I've lived in the pack. And every time my father, the Alpha will always remind me about the hierarchy of our pack. He will always tell me the omegas were the weakest and the lunas were the strongest. But entering college I never knew some females could still stand up for themselves and fight no matter your rank or position. For me, any girl that could pull that successfully have my attention.
I twisted the tap handle as watching my reflection on the toilet mirror. My wolf calm and my breathing normal. On every edge of the mirror was her caves like puzzle pieces. I trailed my fingers on the mirror. My reflection disappearing as hers flashed back at me. Is calling me. Like a robe tied to the waist and pulled into light. My eyes are close but my visions were wide, heightened a shift in the shadows.
"I must make her my friend." The words slipped off my mind but my lips didn't move.
