Chapter 80 - 80

Just then, a thick fog suddenly appeared on the street, and Sloan and the others all vanished into the mist. Garrett's expression changed slightly, and he hurriedly ordered everyone to stop—this was the ability of the Mutant' mist.

"Is the Assassin Brotherhood connected to the Brotherhood of Mutants?"

Garrett had no intention of giving up. He had the police and Agents blockade the surrounding area and called for backup.

Meanwhile, the appearance of the fog startled Sloan and the others. Just then, a voice came from within the mist: "We are the Brotherhood of Mutants. Follow the red light ahead, and we will not harm you."

Sloan hesitated for a moment, then said, "Follow."

Everyone followed the red light, and soon, they emerged from the fog into an underground parking lot. Immediately after, the Mist Mutant, with flowing hair and wearing a mask, walked out from behind a pillar, pointed at a nearby truck, and said, "There are clothes in the truck. Change into them quickly, and I'll take you away."

Sloan, while wary of his surroundings, asked the Mist, "I don't recall us having any dealings with Mutant. What do you want?"

"You'll know very soon."

The Mist said. Sloan glanced at him, then went with Fire Fox, Tinkerer, Butcher, Big Head, Sabretooth, and more than a dozen other escaped companions to the truck to change clothes.

Upon seeing the clothes in the truck, the Assassins were all stunned—the clothes were hooded sweatshirts with the slogan 'Mutant Must Register' printed on them.

Sloan asked in astonishment, "Are you sure you didn't get the wrong clothes?"

"Don't worry, I didn't."

The Mist smiled mysteriously. Sloan glanced at him, then stopped talking nonsense and, along with everyone else, changed into the clothes, pulled on the hoods, and put on their masks.

"This way."

The Mist led them through an underground passage to a nearby mall lobby. There, Senator Kelly, who had recently become very popular, was calling on citizens to support the Mutant Registration Act.

Sloan and the others exchanged glances. What was going on? Mutant opposing themselves?

Although puzzled, Sloan and the others did not leave. Led by the Mist, they shouted the slogan 'Mutant Must Register,' drawing cheers from the surrounding crowd.

"Senator Kelly?"

Not long after, a group of Agents came to check the area. They were startled to see Senator Kelly holding a rally, then proceeded to search other places for their targets.

Mutant and Assassins couldn't possibly be hiding here; Senator Kelly was a staunch anti-Mutant.

Senator Kelly didn't take the Agents seriously. After his speech, he left with his staff, easily breaking through the encirclement Garrett had painstakingly set up.

Sloan and the others breathed a sigh of relief. They exchanged glances, preparing to escape from Senator Kelly's side. They didn't want to be at the mercy of the Mutant, especially since these Mutant were full of strange behavior.

Just then, all the Assassins simultaneously felt a wave of weakness. Their expressions changed, and they struggled to stand up, but one after another, they fell to the ground and fainted.

The Mist sneered nearby. Want to leave? Did you ask our Brotherhood of Mutants?

At the same time, Garrett, who had been searching without success, received another piece of bad news: "The textile factory was breached by an unknown force, and the mysterious loom and several important captives were stolen."

"Damn it."

John Garrett cursed angrily. This time, he had lost terribly.

In Rebirth Hell, Andrew looked at the Loom of Fate before him and said with a hint of surprise, "It's actually the real thing? I didn't have much hope before."

Yelena asked curiously, "Is this loom really connected to fate?"

"It has a mysterious fluctuation on it, which means it's a supernatural item."

Andrew touched the loom and said, "Yelena, well done."

It's worth mentioning that the fluctuations on the Loom of Fate were very mysterious; even Andrew would need some time to thoroughly study it.

Yelena respectfully said, "Serving the BOSS is what we should do."

"Don't worry, I won't forget your contributions."

Andrew smiled and asked, "Did you get the potion that accelerates recovery?"

Yelena nodded and said, "We got it. We also extracted the training methods for Bullet Time and Curved Bullet Trajectory from the captives, but they said that only a very small number of people can master these two unique skills."

Andrew said, "Copy the methods for all Black Widows and see who the lucky ones are. As for the recovery potion formula, give it to Big Head and have him further upgrade the formula."

Yelena nodded and left: "Yes, BOSS."

"The Assassin Brotherhood in this world is really unlucky. They were broken up by S.H.I.E.L.D. before they even had a chance to show their power. I wonder which deity they offended."

Andrew shook his head, thinking to himself, "That loser protagonist probably won't get a chance to appear, but that might not be a bad thing for him."

Senator Kelly's mansion in New York.

Sloan and the others gradually woke up to find themselves tied to chairs, with Senator Kelly standing in front of them. At the same time, Toad, Sabretooth, and the Mist, three Mutant, stood nearby.

"I know you have many questions. I think this will make you understand."

Senator Kelly smiled, his body rippled, and he transformed from an old man in a suit into a blue-skinned woman with scales, who was none other than Mystique Raven.

"Mystique!"

Sloan exclaimed, "You're too bold! How dare you impersonate a Senator?"

The staunch anti-Mutant Senator Kelly had been replaced by Mystique a few months ago, which was why the Mist and his companions were with Senator Kelly.

"More than just impersonating, Senator Kelly was already killed by me," Mystique said with a disdainful smile. She continued, "I've heard of the Assassin Brotherhood. You're quite capable, but unfortunately, you've provoked S.H.I.E.L.D."

"We didn't provoke S.H.I.E.L.D. I still don't know why those damned lunatics came after us," Sloan cursed, feeling incredibly aggrieved. The others felt the same way; it was truly a case of trouble finding them while they were minding their own business.

Mystique asked, "How you offended them isn't important. What's important is, do you want to retrieve the Loom of Fate and continue your mission?"

"How do you know about the Loom of Fate?"

Sloan asked in surprise. The Loom of Fate was the Assassin Brotherhood's greatest secret; outsiders had no knowledge of it. Even S.H.I.E.L.D. only learned about this mysterious loom after breaking into the textile factory.

Most people's understanding of the Assassin Brotherhood was limited to bullets that could curve.

"That's not important."

Mystique said mysteriously. In fact, the information about the Assassin Brotherhood was extracted by a Mutant named Dream during Sloan's dream—Sloan did not remember what happened in the dream.

"Yes, that's not important. What's important is that we must get the Loom of Fate back and continue our mission."

Fire Fox shouted. She was the one in the Brotherhood who believed in the Loom of Fate the most. To put it this way, if her name appeared on the loom, she would immediately point a gun at her own head.
