The Osborn Group was a powerful conglomerate, so the police arrived quickly. Dr. Connors heard the sirens, flicked Spider-Man away with his tail, then grabbed several vials of serum from the pharmaceutical freezer, jumped out the window, and quickly climbed down.
"He's not afraid of the sun?"
Andrew squinted slightly. Lizard Dr. was even more powerful than in the movie, but he wasn't a magical creature; his soul was still intact.
"Don't even think about escaping, big guy."
Spider-Man immediately gave chase, and the two wrestled all the way to the ground. The police were startled and began firing at Lizard Dr.
Unfortunately, the police's small handguns were basically useless against Lizard Dr. Lizard Dr. swung his tail, and several police officers screamed as they were sent flying backward, landing on the ground, their fates unknown.
That wasn't all. Lizard Dr. rushed to a police car, flipped it over with force, and the patrol car rolled and crashed onto another police car, sending glass shards flying. The police were terrified and retreated repeatedly.
Lizard Dr. scoffed and fled into a nearby alley. Spider-Man, highly displeased with his cruelty, shouted and pursued him.
Andrew shook his head and asked Gwen, "Gwen, do you want me to take you out of here?"
Gwen said dejectedly, "Andrew, I need to go back to the lab to check; this is all my fault."
Andrew said, "This isn't your fault. It's Dr. Connors's own fault. To be honest, I highly suspect he bought his doctorate. How could he inject an untested serum into his own body? Even a novice wouldn't make such a mistake."
"I don't understand why he did that either. It completely violates the rules."
Gwen shook her head. Then, she remembered something from earlier and asked, "By the way, you still haven't told me how you jumped up and caught me? Are you a Mutant?"
Andrew said, "Do you discriminate against Mutant? Uh, I guess you wouldn't discriminate; you'd probably draw my blood for research."
"Nonsense."
Gwen playfully punched Andrew's chest. Andrew said, "I'm not a Mutant. I'll tell you about my origins slowly later. For now, just think of me as a Kung Fu Masters."
"What a perfunctory answer. Bruce Lee couldn't jump as high as you."
Gwen complained, but she didn't dwell on the matter and jogged towards the lab upstairs.
The lab had already become a ruin, with several injured people groaning on the ground. At the same time, several corpses with torn throats lay on the ground, chilling to the bone.
Gwen quickly helped treat the injured. Soon, the police arrived at the lab and sealed everything off.
Not long after, S.H.I.E.L.D. also arrived. They wanted to take everything from the lab for investigation. The Osborn high-level management disagreed and started arguing with Coulson.
Ultimately, the Osborn Group agreed to hand over some data and allow S.H.I.E.L.D. to take people for investigation, but a group lawyer had to be present. Additionally, S.H.I.E.L.D. had to help them cover up this incident.
After the negotiations, Coulson had the Agents take the surviving researchers away. Gwen shouted in dissatisfaction, "I'm not going anywhere! I've never heard of S.H.I.E.L.D. You have no right to take us away."
Coulson said, "I'm sorry, little girl, we do have the right to do so."
"I'd like to hear how you have the right?"
Andrew leaned against the door, filming and mockingly saying, "As far as I know, S.H.I.E.L.D. is an agency under the United Nations. Such an agency has no actual law enforcement power in America."
"No filming."
Two Agents stepped forward, ready to snatch Andrew's phone. Coulson was startled and quickly stopped them, "Stop! Mr. Wang, why are you here?"
Andrew said coldly, "Gwen is my girlfriend. Why do you think I'm here?"
Gwen was overjoyed upon hearing this. Their relationship had progressed rapidly during this time, but only at this moment was it truly established.
"Girlfriend?"
Coulson was stunned. Wasn't Andrew Wang's girlfriend Susan? This Ghost Rider really knew how to play, but a rich man having several women wasn't big news.
"Mr. Wang, I'm S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson. We have no ill will towards Miss Gwen; we just want to clarify the truth."
Coulson said with a humble attitude, completely lacking his previous domineering demeanor.
"Just ask inside the Osborn Group."
Andrew said, "Gwen, there's no need to hide anything. S.H.I.E.L.D. is well aware of the Vampire situation. In fact, they're the ones who have been suppressing the information."
Gwen glanced at Coulson with disgust upon hearing this. Coulson was a bit embarrassed. He thought of something and asked, "Is this related to Vampires?"
"Listen to Gwen."
Andrew said. Then, Gwen explained the situation in detail. Coulson's expression was a bit grim. The fusion of Vampire blood and Lizard Serum was likely to cause trouble. They had to catch that Vampire Lizard as soon as possible.
"Miss Gwen, thank you for the information. If there's anything else, we'll contact you again."
Coulson nodded and left the Osborn Group with the other researchers. After they left, Gwen asked Andrew, "Who exactly are you? Why is even the domineering S.H.I.E.L.D. so polite to you?"
Andrew took Gwen's hand, kissed it, and said, "Who I am isn't important. What's important is that I'm your boyfriend."
"I'm regretting it a little now."
Gwen snorted. She looked at the ruined lab and sighed, "I hope the police can catch Dr. Connors soon. Dr. Connors isn't a bad person; the only reason he became so brutal was because of the serum."
"Perhaps you can research an antidote."
Andrew said. Lizard Dr. wasn't a Vampire, so there was still a chance for salvation.
Gwen's eyes lit up: "That's right, I can research an antidote! Uh, I don't have detailed information on the Lizard Serum, so I can't research it even if I want to."
"The group is very chaotic right now. You can use this to steal the Lizard Serum data. I guarantee they won't find out."
Andrew handed Gwen a spy USB drive and whispered, Gwen was surprised: "How do you have something like this?"
Andrew spread his hands and said, "Isn't it common knowledge for reporters to carry spy programs?"
"Yes, common knowledge, just like wearing a helmet while fishing."
Gwen rolled her eyes. She hesitated, then took the USB drive and, while no one was around, went to Dr. Connors's office.
Although Spider-Man, the police, and S.H.I.E.L.D. were all pursuing Lizard Dr., he still successfully escaped into the sewers and gradually transformed back into human form.
Even transformed back into a human, Dr. Connors's mind remained in the Lizard Dr. state. He recalled everything that had happened, with a look of ecstasy. The feeling of becoming a Lizard was simply too good.
"I can't enjoy such a good thing alone. I want everyone in New York to become Lizards. Then, New York will become a City without flaws."
Lizard Dr. shouted fanatically. Then, he set up a new lab in the sewers. He wanted to continue researching the Lizard Serum to make it even more perfect.
