Blood... So much blood all over the street. Three men. Dead. All done by one girl who was driven by her love of revenge. One man had his throat cut, the next was stabbed in the stomach, and the last was missing a hand and was shot. How could one girl do all of this... By herself.
Jasper laughs. She loves it... She loves the thrill that comes with killing, hearing the screams...the please for mercy...she cant get enough of it. People say she's crazy she doesn't believe them. They tried to get her to stop, some tried telling the police but before they could say a word. They were gone. No evidence to be found. Jasper thinks about the people that have wronged her, "They wronged me, they deserved it, they had it coming." She is then snapped out of her thoughts by the found of sirens all around and she is gone. Back in her apartment she is cleaning her knife and washing her hands whilst humming softly.
Back at the crime scene there's Ryder, the medical examiner who's taken this case. He sighs and walks towards the bodies, his eyes are dark and shallow his hair messy. He's tired, so tired of the life he has. "What was I thinking... Having a job like this" he mumbles to himself. His job as a medical examiner for crime scenes takes a toll on his mental health but what is there to do. He does the routine check and grabs a few things from the scene that might be useful, and he heads back to the lab.
Back at the lab Ryder is working quietly, testing different things but he's stumped... He's never come across anything like this. There's nothing. Not a single trace left behind by the person that did this killing and what's interesting is that this is the third case this week that has zero traces. Ryder talks quietly to himself with a focused and confused look on his face "There's someone out there who's good... Too good at killing... Too careful. They've killed three people every time, no more, no less.. Two with a knife... One with a gun... Interesting". After about an hour of finding nothing Ryder goes home for the night.
Ryder spends all night thinking about how someone could do something like this and leave without a trace. But after hours of thinking, sleep over takes him and he is out like a light.
The next day and Ryder wakes up at 7:30 like every morning and he goes to the coffee shop down the street to grab his morning coffee from the same barista. " Hey Jasper, having a good morning" Ryder says tiredly as he grabs his coffee. He holds it with two hands, finding some comfort in the warmth. Jasper looks up at him and smiles "I'm having a great morning Ryder. So, there was another murder last night huh, that must be rough for you." The way she says it. How did she already know... Ryder's eyes linger on her, her smile a little too wide…eyes too sharp…but she brushes it off thinking he's just paranoid "yeah I'm heading to work now to go figure out the bastard behind this." Jasper nods "Well you have a good day... Lets hope you find them, though." Ryder pays for his coffee and leaves. The ride to the lab is silent for Ryder… he can't stop thinking about the interaction with Jasper, the scene on the street from the night before. It's all too… Weird.
Jasper laughs to herself as she wipes down the counter... "I'm safe. There's no way he could ever find out, and yet he sees me every morning... What an idiot." Jasper thinks to herself as she laughs maybe a little too loud.
Ryder is driving, thinking, "what did Jasper mean? Could it be? No… no it's just paranoia… or… or is it."
