San Fransokyo's skyline gleamed at dusk, a lattice of glass and steel bathed in twilight. The labs of Giri Corporation were alive with lights and the distant hum of experimental robotics. Jessica pulled her coat tighter, stepping out beside Varisa on the rooftop of the elevated transit station. The keystone in Jessica's satchel pulsed faintly—an almost invisible heartbeat of power.
Varisa raised her chin, wind tugging at her hair. "This is where I heard they based the team's lab headquarters—Baymax's origin wing, robotics R&D. If Big Hero 6 is anything like the data says, this is their origin."
Jessica's shield glowed on her forearm. "All right. Let's find them… before the Serpents do."
They slipped through side corridors, using shadows and Varisa's wind currents to mask their presence. Then they found themselves in a large atrium, holographic diagrams floating in the air, robotic parts everywhere—and a figure in white plating moving with purposeful steps.
It was Baymax in his synthformer form, retracting panels and adjusting servo‐motors. Next to him stood Hiro Takachiho, scanning a control console. Off to one side were GoGo Tomago in her battle suit, loops of kinetic disk tech glowing at her wrists, and Wasabi-No-Ginger with energy blades clipped at his belt. Honey Lemon hovered overhead, her purse of gadgets shimmering.
Before Jessica could speak, an alarm shrieked—a swarm of Black Serpents broke through the lab's outer gates. Robots whirred to life. Tech barriers dropped. The Big Hero 6 team snapped into action.
GoGo Tomago sprinted forward, her kinetic disk loops slicing through the first wave. Wasabi launched energy blades that crackled with qi‐power, each slice precise. Baymax shifted form, his synthformer body expanding into a hulking draconic frame to shield civilians being shoved back.
Varisa stepped beside Jessica. The wind whipped around them, forming slicing gusts that sent Serpents tumbling. Jessica erected shield domes to protect bystanders, then flung small shield blades at advancing enemies.
Yelling shouted behind them: "Jessica! Varisa! Over here!" It was Hiro, pointing to a corridor where Serpents were pushing through medical labs. Without hesitation, the two followed him, charging into the fray.
Baymax roared, his draconic form breathing mechanical fire as GoGo catapulted over rows of lab tables, disks spinning. Honey Lemon deployed chemical pods from her purse, stalling several Serpents in a sticky orange overlay. Wasabi's blades cleaved through armor with chanting energy.
Jessica's shield flickered under heavy recoil, but held. Varisa's winds countered blasts thrown by the Serpents' mutated tech. For a moment, the team seemed balanced.
When the last Serpent dropped, Baymax shrank back to humanoid synthformer shape. Hiro exhaled, wiping sweat from his brow. He looked at Jessica and Varisa with a mixture of relief and curiosity.
"Thanks," Hiro said, glancing at their keystones. "You two… you handled yourself."
Jessica sheathed a small blade shield. "Your team is amazing. If you need backup, I'm in."
GoGo gave a quick nod. "The lab's secure—for now. But the Serpents won't stop. We've got intel issues to clear up."
Honey Lemon's eyes flicked to Jessica's satchel. "What are you carrying, if I might ask?"
Varisa took a step forward. "Something the Serpents want. Something we can't let them have."
Hiro nodded grimly. "Then you'll have allies in us."
