Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5

Absolutely — here's Chapter 4: Peace with the North told from a dual POV: Eddard Stark and The Strat

---

❄️ POV: Eddard Stark

The wolf rode into the lion's den.

Ned Stark had fought in two wars, ridden against the banners of Targaryens and traitors, stood face-to-face with Robert Baratheon's fury and Tywin Lannister's silence.

But nothing unsettled him like the silence of the red-cloaked men watching him now.

They lined the path — shields in one hand, spears in the other. Not a word. Not a movement. Just statues of discipline and violence carved in bronze and blood.

The outpost ahead looked more like a fortress than a village. Angular, fortified, without waste. A sharp efficiency built for war — not comfort. Not show.

"Lord Stark," said the guide — a quiet woman in simple armor. "The spartan king awaits."

'spartan king?' need stark thought before walking towards the spartan kings chamber.

---

They brought him to a stone chamber within the outpost's heart. The doors opened without ceremony.

He stood there — tall, broad-shouldered, red cloak hanging like a banner down his back. No crown. No sigil Ned recognized. Just presence.

A warlord. A general. A ruler.

Ned had known many kings.

This man was something else.

---

🔥 POV: The Strategos

The Northern lord entered like a wolf on cautious feet. Protective. Honorable. Predictable.

Perfect.

The spartan king studied him — dark eyes, graying beard, guarded stance. The kind of man who believed in oaths and family. The kind of man who would hesitate.

That made him both powerful… and vulnerable.

"You came yourself," the Strategos said, voice steady, unhurried. "Risky."

"I don't send men where I won't go," Ned answered. "Your men killed Night's Watch brothers. There are rumors of bloodshed. Of... discipline. Of a new kingdom rising without a name."

The Spartan king didn't smile. "Not a kingdom. A legacy."

Ned stepped forward. "Whatever you call it, you're building a private army in the North. That's a threat to the realm. To Winterfell. I need to know your intentions."

"You see conquest," Alex said. "I see survival. The North is lawless beyond your borders. Bandits roam. Wildlings prey. Refugees rot in the snow. I build what no lord dared build."

Ned narrowed his eyes. "With spears. With blood."

"With structure. With purpose. Do your lords take bastards and orphans and make them soldiers? I do."

"You take broken men and make them killers."

"I make them brothers."

A pause.

"You execute prisoners," Ned said. "No trials. No choice."

"I give them order," alex replied. "And order saves more lives than mercy ever will."

---

Alex turned and picked up a scroll.

"Here. A treaty. Spartan territory will not expand past the Grey Ridge. We will not raid, threaten, or conscript northmen."

He stepped forward.

"In return, I want legitimacy. Recognition. You call me warlord. I ask to be called ruler. Not of the North. Just of this land — mine by right of blood, sweat, and discipline."

Ned read the scroll.

It was surprisingly… reasonable.

A neutral zone. No interference. No forced allegiance. Just acknowledgement of sovereignty in the lands no one else wanted.

Ned looked up.

"Why?" he asked. "Why not take more? You clearly could."

The Spartan king stared at him.

"Because a good war comes with good timing. And my people are not ready to rule a kingdom. They are still learning how not to starve."

---

🤝 Decision

Ned held the treaty.

He hated it.

He hated that the realm had become so broken that this was the best choice — that a foreign-born, system-blessed warlord had done more for the forgotten than half the noble houses of Westeros.

But he also remembered the look in the eyes of the Spartan guards. Calm. Focused. Loyal.

No fear. No greed.

Just order.

He signed.

🌙 That Night

As Ned left the outpost, he glanced back one last time.

The red cloaks stood at attention atop the walls. Bronze glinting in the moonlight. Not shouting. Not cheering.

Just watching.

He whispered to himself, "What have we just let grow in our backyard"
