Ericson hearing the news of his brother felt as if his world had collapsed. Eric grabbed his chest through the clothes and fell on his knee. He had a hard time breathing. He was gasping for air. The messenger an elder in this profession placed his hand on the shoulder of the prince to comfort him. Two lines of tears continued to streak down from Eric's eyes. He loved his brother and news of it was a sudden shock.
All official and close relatives were summoned in the Great Hall above Great tree by the decree of the king. The king announced the death of his first born. Tharion's body arrived the next morning after messenger's word. Tharion was placed at the center of the great hall. Everyone was grief struck. Elves has close connection with each other and it is more so for the people that are the position of royalty and leadership. Tharion had created his place among his people. The queen, Tharion's mother cried through the whole summoning.
Finally, the time for parting had arrived. The queen bid her farewell and so did the king. They kissed their son on the forehead and the king gently picked him up and placed him on a grand boat. He gave the boat a heavy push and kept his gaze on the boat and the whole time Ericson was beside his father. The boat flowed with the river of Evarin – "always remembered". Elves part with their family through this river. After some time had passed the king while looking at the boat placed his hand on Eric and gave gentle nod and spoke, "It is time". Eric understanding what his father meant gave a nod in response and drew a flamed arrow and pulled his bow string. He shot the arrow in the air and it reached the boat and ignited it on fire.
Tharion, while he was young, he was bound to succeed as the next elf king after his father. But now that path has closed off due to his unforeseen death. But now, Ericson was the one and only one in the succession race. A huge burden to shoulder in an unforeseen future.
