Chapter 35 - Anomaly Event

Rational: 55% → Rational: 65%

Yes, she had to think rationally that she wanted to be with me to increase that capture percentage.

At first,I thought that her naivety and ignorance on many topics would prevent an increase in the rational percentage and that would be my biggest obstacle.

That's why I thought that strengthening their knowledge, reasoning, and logic was the ideal approach.

But now, with the emotional aspect being so high, many things changed.

She already felt it strongly, so it just had to be put into a concrete thought.

It was enough for her to naturally think, "I also want to be with you from now on."

That was already a conscious decision and what was required to reach the percentage milestone, even if it was simple and without depth.

Obviously, what I had been telling and teaching her from the beginning also helped a lot.

I'm really glad that's the case, as it was likely that I would end up with much more remorse than with Azalea.

It's better to have simple things like this, where an honest thought is enough.

I will definitely be with her for a long time, and I will do everything I promised and said I would do.

I'll be there for her when she needs me. And she really needs me now, so I'll go into that snake pit where she lives and make sure nothing happens to her.

Sure, I've said and done a lot of questionable things to get to this point, but I hope this relationship reaches a point where, after I tell her what I did, we can look back on that period of time as a funny anecdote.

...

It had been a while since we stood there hugging and silent. I looked up and there was Iris watching us.

Knowing it was best not to interrupt, she had stayed out of it until now.

In addition to that, he just asked for a quick system cleanup, which I appreciate, since the mess we had made was no small thing.

She obviously seemed to want something right now, and it was easy to tell what it was.

'It doesn't matter if you do.'

'Oh, finally!'

"Ah!"

I quickly spoke to her mentally, and before I knew it, I was hugging Amy from behind.

This surprised Amy, but she quickly knew it was Iris and felt comfortable again; she buried herself in my chest.

The three of us were snuggled up together in a warm and cozy sandwich, and we enjoyed it again for a while until...

'Hey, this is nice and all, but... hmm, what happened to... well, you know—?'

'Well, the percentages are Emotional: 75%, Carnal: 62%, Rational: 65%.'

At that moment, Iris seemed to remember. I guess we're still the same person after all; it seems that, despite everything, she still has our goals in mind.

"Ah! That much? Ah! We're almost there... so that's why you said that earlier... phew, that's better."

She must have had the same thoughts as me.

'But do you think this is enough? I feel like there's one last thing missing to be sure.'

'That's right, but it's already something simple.'

Honestly, we were already so close that it seemed like anything would do, but doing things halfway wasn't my style, so I took action.

I straightened up, looking up, and dragged Amy with me; I placed her on top of me.

She seemed to be falling back into sleepiness, but was surprised by my movement.

"Hm?! Ah!~ mngh💓"

I wanted to let her sleep, but we weren't done yet. I quickly adjusted myself and restored our connection, diving back into her depths while starting a tender and gentle kiss with her.

We were about to start one last round, but this one would not be as wild as the previous ones.

After all, before, we had been so passionate and wild that I couldn't fully put into practice how sex can be one of the greatest expressions of love.

It will be a final, loving session, where we will release the last restrictions or doubts.

That will be more than enough.

..

.

"Okay, so to cancel this skill, I have to..."

We finally finished with Amy and achieved our goal. We left her downstairs resting, and until she woke up, we had to get everything ready.

"...ugh."

..

Once I had made up my mind to end the Skill, it ended. Prepared for what would happen, I took the bin.

"...oh, it's just dizziness."

Iris, who also ended the ability, seemed normal, as if she were going through an interesting situation.

I, for my part, also didn't feel that immense urge to vomit from before, I just felt that everything around me was distorted.

I lost my balance momentarily, but I wasn't overcome by nausea.

"Haaah... I really can't get used to that."

I really can't handle that feeling of fusion, or in this case, synchronization.

I'm still me, but at the same time, I'm not.

Just remembering the above makes me feel like my body wants to writhe in embarrassment; I feel like I just want to curl up in a corner and stay there until this feeling goes away.

Everything is very different from how I would normally do things. But there's no point in thinking about what was and what I would do: in the end, it worked.

Even so, I will definitely avoid synchronizations or fusions as much as possible from now on, I feel like I really lose control.

"Okay!!, honey, now let's fuse, create the doppelgänger, and go to Amy."

"Calm down. She'll be asleep for at least half an hour. Let's get things in order first... haaah~, just in case, I'm asking you, do you really want to continue with this?"

"Honey! How can you even ask that? Obviously, Amy is already important to us. It's more than obvious that we can't leave her alone."

"But that could..."

"Stop it, honey. I know and understand that you're prioritizing our safety, but we really can't just leave Amy like that. I know you don't want to either. I know you love Amy too, because if you didn't, we wouldn't have been able to maintain the Fusion or synchronization."

"Haaah~ are you really going to keep relying on that?"

"Because I know it's the truth, honey. I know that a lot of what you said is totally you. Right now you're just being tsundere, as usual."

"(ㆆ_ㆆ)"

Fine, whatever. I wasn't expecting anything anyway; I brought this on myself.

She can really use her head when she puts her mind to it, and in this case, I can't contradict her.

That was my last attempt and I failed, so it was time to act.

First, I had to check something I heard while dealing with Amarillys .

"System, repeat what you said before."

[Affirmative- Mission: "Heart Problems" Complete-]

Well, that mission was accomplished by default of my objective. The important thing was the other thing.

[Anomaly Event registered.]

[Statistical conditions exceeded.]

[Title granted: Emissary of Lethargy

Compensation issued:

– Card of Exchange

– +10 Unassigned Stat Points

– 1000 Myrr

– One Irrevocable Answer]

"System, explain what this is about!"

[Affirmative. When one or both users meet the conditions and perform an event that had a probability of less than 0.01% of occurring, they receive appropriate compensation for them. In this case, according to the record, the user achieved the feat of placing a stigma of lethargy on a third party within the first day.]

"Oh! I know what they are: secret missions or hidden achievements. They even gave us a title."

"Hmmm... I guess that's a simple way of looking at it."

Well, now that that was settled, I could continue.

I thought about it, and two gold cards, with the design of the "J" of clubs, appeared in my hand.

The system didn't have anything like storage or anything like that, which for some reason disappointed Iris, as she said it was something obvious that a reincarnated person should have.

But this one could store or retain the rewards we obtained and pull them out of thin air whenever we wanted.

My plan was to try my luck and use the rewards from Amy- Amarillys's mission to try to obtain the skills.

Honestly, I don't believe in things left to chance, but in the worst case, I'll have to resign myself to going with Iris's appearance and being more cautious in the future.

"System, what is the function of the luck improvement cards? And what can they be used for?"

[The card provides the user with a substantial luck boost for ten minutes; it can work in any circumstance, but it is recommended to use it for the random system.]

Well, that was exactly what I wanted to hear.

"Are they stackable?"

[That's correct, : it is stackable up to nine times.]

"So, can the boost be measured? And if so, how much is it approximately on the lower probability items?"

[That's correct, it is a measurable value of 10%. Using one of these cards increases the chance of obtaining lower probability items from 0.01% to 10.01%."

That means we can never have 100%, and even with the two cards we have, the odds are still against us, not to mention that we can't choose what we'll get...

But with Iris's luck... no, before that

"System, tell me about that reward, Card of Exchange. What is its effect?"

I couldn't overlook anything that might be helpful; I have to understand everything at my disposal.

[affirmative, Card of Exchange cards are exclusive to the system; they allow the user to exchange them for one of the items of their choice from the store.]

"Oh! Does that mean I can exchange it for the most expensive item in the store?"

At that moment of questions and answers between me and the system, Iris interrupted excitedly with her own question.

[That's correct.]

"Oh! Then give me the hmmmngh—"

"Stop right there. Don't use it lightly. For starters, there's no point in getting that; it clearly has requirements. The description says that only demigods and above can use it. Let's calm down and use this for something we can get the most out of."

I covered Iris's mouth. She, as always, is ahead of the reasoning.

The most expensive items in the store are all things we obviously can't use.

It's not like there's something silly like a level restriction; rather, you have to meet certain conditions to use it.

It's obvious—I don't even know if I could lift a sword made of ordinary iron or steel due to my current lack of physical strength, let alone wield one made of a metal that, according to the description, is always below zero.

I'd need gloves or some kind of resistance to the cold to do it and bear its weight.

It's clear that something whose description specifically says you have to be a demigod to even touch it is out of our league; there would be no point in buying it.

"Phew... I understand, honey, although I feel like it would be a great purchase."

"Okay, system, just to clarify, system, when you say 'everything,' does that even include unique items that can't be purchased with Myrr?"

[That is correct.]

"Honey! Good thinking, Now our plan is secure."

"Yes."

I felt a weight lift off me. I really didn't want to rely on something as uncertain as luck, and this is very timely...

Although, come to think of it... that in itself is also a kind of luck... highly suspicious and convenient luck.

As always, it's useless to think about whether it's luck or something else.

But now that I didn't have to worry about that anymore, I turned my attention to other things. There was something that had caught my eye since I saw it.

"System, what is the final reward for the anomalous event?"

[The user asks a question and I will answer it unconditionally.]

"Hmm..."

That's a bit suspicious. After all, that thing is the one who sets the rules, and nothing tells me that it will actually answer, but regardless of whether it answers or not, it will help me better understand this shitty system.

"Since Iris and I received the reward, that's two questions, right?"

[That is incorrect. Like the Myrr, this represents an indivisible unit within its category.]

That's really arbitrary, but there's no point in complaining.

"Okay, I'll use that reward right away. System, answer me this..."
