Chapter 97 - Chapter 97: [Extra]A Desperate Plea to an Immortal Legend

Naruto WorldLate at NightThe Ruins of Whirlpool Village

Amidst crumbling walls and wind-swept sand stood the remains of what was once a great power. The Uzumaki Clan, a ninja clan celebrated throughout the Shinobi World for their mastery of sealing techniques, had been utterly destroyed here. During their final, desperate battle to defend Whirlpool Village, their staunchest ally, Konoha, never sent a single soldier for reinforcement. This betrayal sealed the fate of the once-proud clan.

In the eyes of the Five Great Nations and the many ninja villages that feared them, the Uzumaki were a clan that deserved their tragic end. And so, their wish was granted. Whirlpool Village was wiped from the map, and the few surviving members of the Uzumaki Clan scattered across the land, forced to hide their heritage. The village became nothing more than a mass grave, a desolate place that people avoided.

But tonight, the silence was broken. Accompanied by the faint whisper of movement, figures clad in black tactical gear appeared one by one in the moonlit ruins. A sharp, powerful aura radiated from them, marking them as top-tier shinobi, experts even by the high standards of the ninja world. It was strange for such powerful individuals to gather in a forgotten place like this.

"Clan Chief, is the news you received true? Is every move our Uchiha clan makes really being monitored by the village?" one of them asked, his voice low and tense.

"He's right, Clan Chief," another added, his tone filled with urgency. "The Uchiha are facing troubles from both inside and out. The conflict is getting worse every day. We have to find a way to solve this!"

Their words revealed their identities. They were members of the Uchiha, one of the most powerful clans from Konoha, the hidden village of the Land of Fire. Along with the Senju, the Uchiha were the founding clan of Konoha. But while the Senju had long since disbanded and integrated fully into the village, the Uchiha remained separate. They had always stood united, rarely marrying outside the clan and holding the controversial position of Konoha's Military Police Force. It was a simple title, but a sensitive one. It put them at odds with nearly everyone else in the village and created endless problems for themselves. Still, it was a position of power, and the Uchiha would never give it up willingly.

But now, the Uchiha Clan had reached a breaking point.

"Everyone, I know and understand the clan's conflicts and our current situation in Konoha," the leader of the group said. He removed his mask, revealing a square, dignified face etched with righteousness. If he were to show his face in Konoha, anyone would recognize him instantly.

He was Uchiha Fugaku, the current head of the Uchiha Clan. He was also the father of the prodigious Uchiha Itachi and his younger brother, Sasuke. He was a man who, despite having awakened the legendary Mangekyo Sharingan, would one day stand by and do nothing as his entire family was slaughtered.

The men behind him were the elite of the Uchiha Clan, its most skilled warriors and brightest minds. Among them, however, two figures stood out. Their smaller frames and different auras set them apart from the seasoned veterans around them.

"Itachi, Sasuke," Fugaku said, his gaze briefly passing over his two sons before settling on the desolate ruins of the Uzumaki village. His voice was calm, almost unnervingly so. "You two must have heard the stories… the immortal legend of the Divine Being, Tsukihiko. Haven't you?"

The air instantly grew cold. A tense silence fell over the group, and even the young Itachi and Sasuke felt a chill run down their spines.

Divine Being Tsukihiko.

The Immortal Legend.

The titles alone suggested that this was no ordinary person, but a fearsome, god-like figure. Yet, Itachi and Sasuke searched their memories and found nothing. They had never heard such a name or title before. But they knew their father well. If Uchiha Fugaku was mentioning this person now, there had to be a very important reason.

And while the name meant nothing to them, it had a profound effect on the other Uchiha. The simple mention of the name sent a wave of shock through the elite shinobi who had accompanied them.

Divine Being Tsukihiko! The Immortal Legend!

It was a painful and awe-inspiring legend. It spoke of a supreme being who, with his power alone, stood unmatched in the entire Shinobi World. Rumors claimed that this Tsukihiko had appeared in different eras of history, yet his appearance and demeanor never changed. He moved through the history of the Shinobi World like a phantom fish in a vast ocean, witnessing the entire rise of the Five Great Nations.

But as the Five Great Nations and their hidden villages grew more organized and powerful, they collectively agreed to seal away all information related to him. After all, the legends also said that this Divine Being Tsukihiko could raise the dead and grant eternal life to the living. He possessed divine abilities that were comparable to the gods and demons of myth.

Then, after the Warring States period, Tsukihiko seemed to vanish completely from the pages of history. Though whispers of his existence and occasional traces of his presence would surface from time to time, very few were ever fortunate enough to see his true form. Tsukihiko was no longer an active player on the world stage, but the world was still filled with countless legends about him.

"Clan Chief, what are you suggesting?" one of the elite Uchiha finally managed to ask, his voice trembling slightly. "Could it be that we can…"

"Itachi and Sasuke are still young, so they don't know the immortal legend of Divine Being Tsukihiko. But all of you know it well," Fugaku said, his expression once again becoming completely calm. "It's true that our clan is in a desperate situation. But if we can convince this Divine Being Tsukihiko to help us, the Uchiha will not only survive this crisis, but we could even take control of all of Konoha."

As soon as he finished speaking, an absolute silence fell over the ruins. Itachi's heart pounded in his chest. He was a dutiful son, but he was also a traitor. He, the pride of the Uchiha Clan, had already pledged his complete loyalty to the Hokage's office, led by Sarutobi Hiruzen. His father's words were a direct confirmation of what the Hokage and the village elders had suspected all along.

The Uchiha Clan was planning a coup.

"Uchiha Itachi," Fugaku said suddenly, his voice sharp. He seemed to have anticipated his son's reaction. "Between the clan and the village, which do you choose?"

The moment the words left his lips, every single person on the scene turned to stare at Itachi. As the young heir of the Uchiha Clan and a once-in-a-generation genius, Itachi's identity, status, and strength were all critically important. If he truly intended to betray his family, then it would be better to eliminate him right here, right now, before he could cause any more trouble.
