Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 – A Day of Beginnings

Meanwhile, across the city, Charlie Smith's morning started in a very different way.

Blanket half-slid off his broad shoulders, long hair spilling across his face, Charlie stretched lazily before slowly sitting up. The soft sunlight lit the contours of his face, making his fair skin glow. He rubbed his eyes and sighed, "Ugh… again morning?"

Just as he was about to fling the blanket aside, his phone vibrated loudly against the nightstand. He groaned, reaching for it.

"Charlie!" his manager John's cheerful voice boomed. "Wake up, man! You've got a recording session today."

Charlie yawned and scratched his hair. "John… it's too early."

"I know it's early!" John laughed. "But your fans won't wait for you to wake up. We need you at the studio by 10 sharp."

Charlie stretched dramatically. "Fine… I'm coming."

"Good! When you're ready, give me a call. I'll pick you up," John added before ending the call.

Charlie grinned to himself, "Alright, alright… coming," and threw the blanket aside. He swung his legs over the side of the bed, his long hair still cascading around his face.

After bathing,

Charlie stepped out of the bathroom wearing a soft white bathrobe. His broad shoulders caught the morning light, and the faint droplets of water on his skin glistened like pearls. His hair, still wet, framed his face softly, strands clinging to his cheekbones. He stood before the mirror, running his hand through his open hair, pushing it back as water trickled down. With a playful gesture, he lifted his fingers and raked them through his locks again, watching the droplets fall away.

His soft, pink lips curved into a smile as he admired his reflection. "Looking good today, aren't I?" he whispered to himself, before chuckling softly and reaching for his outfit.

He chose a sleek black leather jacket paired with a crisp white t-shirt and dark jeans—simple yet effortlessly stylish. The jacket hugged his shoulders perfectly, highlighting the strength of his frame, while the casual look made him seem approachable despite his star status. Satisfied, he dressed quickly, his hair now almost dry and neatly tied back in a loose ponytail.

Just then, his grandfather Henry's voice floated in from the hallway. "Charlie! Breakfast is getting cold!"

"Coming, Grandpa!" Charlie shouted back with a grin.

At the dining table, Henry sat with a playful expression, tapping his fingers on the table as if urging his grandson to hurry. "You'll miss all the food if you don't come soon."

Charlie slid into his seat, flashing a smile. "I'm here, Grandpa. Wouldn't miss your 'world-famous' breakfast."

Henry chuckled but shook his head. "It's not me making it—our maid cooked it, but still, it's something you shouldn't miss."

The table was beautifully set with an array of breakfast delights: steamed vegetables dumplings, spicy pork buns, stir-fried noodles with bok choy, and hot sesame soup. The aroma filled the room with warmth and comfort.

Their banter was interrupted when John, dressed in casual but neat attire, walked in with a grin. "Am I late, or is everyone already enjoying breakfast without me?"

Henry clapped his hands together. "Ah, John! Come join us before Charlie eats everything."

John laughed and pulled out a chair. "I wouldn't miss this tasty breakfast," he said, reaching for a dumpling.

Charlie chuckled, "See, Grandpa? Even John can't resist."

The three shared laughter and light conversation over their meal, the morning's calm energy preparing them for the day ahead.

Meanwhile, in another part of the city, Daisy Collins was already getting ready for her first day at Insight Times Media.

After checking the inbox one last time and smiling at the confirmation email, she stood in front of the wardrobe. Carefully, she chose a soft pink shirt that matched her hopeful spirit and paired it with black jeans. She tied her long hair into a neat ponytail and adjusted her glasses. Looking at herself in the mirror, she whispered, "I'll do my best."

Downstairs, the familiar aroma of breakfast greeted her. Her mother, Nancy, was setting the table, and her younger brother David lingered sleepily by the door.

"Good morning, sleepyhead," Daisy teased, ruffling his hair gently.

David grinned, "Alright, alright! I'm awake now."

Nancy smiled at the two siblings, "Eat well before you head to the office. It's going to be a long day."

She placed a small bowl of sweet sesame laddus on the table and placed one into Daisy's mouth. "For strength," she said softly.

Daisy's eyes lit up. "Thank you, Mom," she whispered, giving her a quick hug.

As they gathered at the table, the mood was filled with warmth. David tried to tease his sister but stopped himself seeing her determined smile. Instead, he muttered playfully, "Go rock the office, alright?"

Daisy laughed, "I'll try not to boss everyone around too much."

"Just a little," David grinned.

Her grandmother, seated nearby, smiled with pride. "May this new journey bring you joy and learning."

With blessings and smiles exchanged, Daisy finished her breakfast, slung her bag over her shoulder, and stepped out into the sunlight, heart racing with excitement.

Later that morning, Daisy arrived at Insight Times Media. The modern building's glass walls reflected the city's bustle as she walked through the entrance with a mix of nerves and curiosity. The receptionist welcomed her warmly, and soon she was introduced to Mr. Williams, the manager.

"Welcome, Daisy," he said with a reassuring smile. "We're happy to have you join us. You'll assist with reporting assignments and editorial tasks. Don't worry—we'll guide you every step of the way."

"Thank you, sir," Daisy replied, her eyes shining with eagerness.

Her colleagues, already settled at their desks, waved at her encouragingly. Within minutes, Daisy found herself seated beside Ruby, a lively co-worker who instantly befriended her.

"First day nervous?" Ruby whispered with a grin.

"A little," Daisy admitted.

"Don't worry," Ruby said warmly. "You'll love it here."

As the day unfolded, Daisy's desk was filled with notes, articles, and ideas. Her work involved drafting news pieces, compiling reports, and assisting on editorial projects. She immersed herself in the tasks, learning quickly and building confidence.
