Chapter 3 - First test over?

The entire hall fell into silence. Even the king and queen could not utter a word. Finally, Luna broke the silence:

"Am I correct in what I said, esteemed Director?"

The Director composed himself and said:

"Ahem, ahem… Y-Yes, Ms. Nivalis, you have proven you were right. Achieving such an affinity at this age… It's a first in the entire history of our academy. Naturally, it's not surprising that you briefly lost control of your power. You may return to your seat. The measurement for the Crown Princess will be redone."

As Luna returned to her seat, Director Veyron stared after her. 'How can this girl possess such high affinity for two elements simultaneously?! It seems the top of this year is already decided. Hohoho…'

Aurelia felt her control over her power returning and quickly placed her hand on the orb-shaped device without delay.

The hall erupted with whistles and cheers. The Director extended his hand to Aurelia:

"I sincerely apologize, Your Majesty, for putting you in a difficult position due to my misunderstanding."

"No problem, Director Veynor. I accept your apology."

She returned to her seat, sitting beside the Crown Prince, the King, and the Queen.

"Congratulations, my daughter," praised the King.

"This was expected from our Crown Princess," said the Queen, showing no leniency.

The Crown Prince rose, knelt, and held Aurelia's hand to kiss it, sending excitement throughout the hall. But before he could, Aurelia quickly withdrew her hand, disappointing everyone.

"This is not appropriate here, Your Majesty."

"We are engaged; there's no need for such formality," he said.

"I'm sorry, Your Majesty, but when I return home, I will tell my family to break off our engagement and support you differently. If Ms. Nivalis hadn't risked herself to defend me today, my reputation would have been completely ruined. As my fiancée, it was necessary for you to protect me and notice a problem. But you chose to do nothing, giving me no reason to maintain this engagement. Our agreement was for mutual support, but today the royal family broke their promise. You are the side that broke our engagement."

Neither the King, Queen, nor the Crown Prince could find words. If they accused her of defying the royal family, they would need evidence. But the Seradyn family had always supported the royal family—everyone knew this.

The Crown Prince tensed, unable to comprehend why his parents remained silent. Soon his name was called:

"Crown Prince Adrian Valemont of the Solaria Kingdom."

Adrian rose and stepped onto the stage.

"I heard the Crown Prince successfully wielded the sacred sword."

"He will definitely surpass the Crown Princess and that unknown girl!"

But things did not go as expected. Adrian placed his hand on the device.

The hall fell silent again. The gap between the Crown Prince's and Crown Princess's powers was enormous. 'This was inevitable. I know the Crown Prince is the main character of the fourth route, but everyone said his only skill is the sacred sword. At first, I didn't believe it, but after playing the game, I realized it's true. The Crown Prince relies so heavily on the sacred sword that he barely trains. He even skips lessons at the academy.'

"How is this possible?"

"Is the wielder of the sacred sword weaker than a girl whose name is unknown?!"

"This is impossible!"

Luna grinned mischievously. She was very happy to see the character she hated the most being humiliated.

"Silence! Next, Crown Princess Selena Vaeloria from the Elyndor Kingdom."

All eyes were on her as the blonde-haired, red-eyed girl stepped onto the stage. Selena's results were impressive: she possessed the Fire element with a 70% affinity.

Next, the Second Prince appeared, with a Wind element and 80% affinity—decent. The rest of the students completed their measurements, and the first test ended. Families departed, leaving only the students.

The content of the second test was about to be announced. Magic Teacher Ms. Alice stood at the center of the stage and began:

"The second test will be a Monster Hunt. Students may participate in teams or alone. Teams will not harm each other. If anyone betrays their team and tries to kill a teammate, they will be automatically eliminated. You will face not only monsters but also other students. Compared to last year, the difficulty of this test has increased significantly, and the monsters are stronger. We recommend forming teams, but the choice is yours."

After finishing her announcement, all teachers and students began leaving the hall. Luna was about to leave when she noticed Aurelia approaching her.

"Greetings, Crown Princess. I apologize for my previous rudeness; I lost control of my power and caused trouble for you."

"There's no need for such formality. Just call me Aurelia. And it's not your fault; in fact, thanks to you, I found a way to handle my engagement with the Crown Prince. Anyway, I came here for another reason."

Luna was slightly surprised. "Oh? What reason did you come, Aurelia?"

"Do you want to form a team?"
