Chapter 2 - chakra refinement

The prompt sound echoing in his mind made Riku's heart tremble. Then, a joyful expression appeared on his face.

"Sure enough… I suddenly realized all the Fire-Style Ninjutsu in an instant. Is this the power of heaven-defying enlightenment? This golden finger is really amazing!"

Riku couldn't help but give a thumbs up. However, new problems came with it.

Although he now understood all the Fire-Style Ninjutsu, his head overflowing with relevant knowledge, the real problem was that to actually use high-level Fire-Style techniques, he needed a corresponding amount of chakra.

Chakra is the "one" — the foundation for using all ninjutsu and physical techniques. Without that "one," no matter how many "zeros" you have behind it, it's all meaningless.

"The way to refine chakra…" Riku began to recall the relevant knowledge from his mind. Sure enough, as he focused on recalling the method of chakra refinement, the prompt sound rang out in his mind again:

[Ding! You are working hard to refine chakra, and your chakra has increased by 100%!]

Accompanied by the prompt sound, Riku clearly felt a warm current flowing throughout his limbs. To be precise, it didn't just come out of nowhere—it was being extracted from the countless cells in his body.

"This is chakra… increased by 100% in an instant! Awesome!"

After being extracted from his cells, the chakra flowed like a gentle stream, converging toward his dantian through various meridians. Eventually, it merged with the chakra he already had, forming a chakra energy mass that was noticeably larger than before.

Riku felt a surge of vitality. His spirit became sharp, and his physical strength abundant. He knew very well how difficult it was for ordinary people to refine chakra. Even geniuses like Kakashi or Itachi constantly struggled with insufficient chakra. But now, with the help of his heaven-defying enlightenment, his chakra had doubled in just one second!

"If those so-called geniuses saw this, they'd be green with envy. This is really awesome." Riku couldn't help but admire the system again.

Now that his chakra had greatly increased and he had mastered all Fire-Style Ninjutsu, it was time to consider his next move. Several paths lay ahead of him:

He could completely leave Konoha and become a rogue ninja, free to roam the world.

He could return to the frontlines and continue fighting, representing the Uchiha clan against the Hidden Mist Village.

Or, he could head back to the rear pretending to be seriously injured and return to Konoha to recuperate.

The first option wasn't suitable. He had finally traveled through time and gained incredible power—he also had his own ambitions.

The second option was also unrealistic for now. Though he had the knowledge, his injuries hadn't fully healed. His heaven-defying understanding could not magically heal his body. If he returned to the battlefield in this state, he might end up as cannon fodder again.

After careful thought, Riku decided to return to Konoha. First, he needed to heal and restore his body. Then he would begin planning to help the Uchiha clan rise out of its current predicament. Since he was here and a member of the Uchiha, he couldn't just stand by and do nothing.

"The Uchiha clan will no longer be trampled or bullied at will," he muttered coldly."Extermination of the clan? Impossible."

A cold light flashed in Riku's eyes. Having made his decision, he planned to find Konoha's logistics forces and return as a seriously injured person, waiting for the right opportunity.

So, Riku crouched down and began searching for traces on the ground, intending to track the whereabouts of the medical logistics team. At that moment, the system prompt rang again in his mind:

[Ding! You activated the Tracking and Reconnaissance Technique, and your tracking and reconnaissance skill has been upgraded to the maximum level!]

[Full-level Tracking and Reconnaissance greatly enhances your perception—allowing you to see tiny details normally invisible, and hear sounds and movements within a certain range!]

"Full-level tracking and reconnaissance…" Riku was slightly shocked. As the information appeared in his mind, he felt his eyesight, hearing, and sense of smell improve exponentially.

The change was clear and immediate. His vision became incredibly sharp. Tiny details that would normally go unnoticed were now vividly clear. In the woods, he could see a small insect burrowing into the bark of a tree a hundred meters away. Two hundred meters away, a centipede was hidden under dead leaves. Three hundred meters above, a small bird was flapping its wings mid-flight.

Not only had his vision improved, but his hearing and smell had also become unbelievably sharp. The rustling of birds and the crawling of insects, sounds that no ordinary person could pick up, now echoed clearly in his ears—as if they were right next to him.

Even his sense of smell had reached terrifying levels. In an instant, he could detect thousands—maybe even tens of thousands—of different scents in the air. And not only that, he could precisely determine where each scent came from and what it belonged to.

"Awesome…" Riku was amazed and quickly locked onto the location of the logistics troops.

But just then, his expression darkened.

The thick scent of blood in the air, the distressed smell of the logistics troops, and the fierce sounds of battle—screams, groans, cries of pain—all painted a grim picture.

Konoha's logistics forces were under attack.

What should he do now?

Riku's eyes turned sharp. Judging from his enhanced senses, the enemies weren't many—just five. But they had already wreaked havoc on the medical team, causing serious casualties.

Without a second thought, Riku dashed toward the battlefield.
