Chapter 33 - Chapter 33

Opening the door, Kudo grunted, and his mother's shocked face that soon morphed into overwhelming concern did not help.

"What happened? Who did this? Let's hurry to the village hospital and then to the police…"

"Mom!" Kudo said, exasperated, "I'm fine, I was training, and these bruises will settle on their own. It will make me stronger."

"Was it Ito-san? Why would He do this?" Ina asked, her face laced with anger.

"It wasn't him; I am doing new training at the academy to be stronger, so you don't have to worry whenever I am on a mission, it's gonna be okay," Kudo said with a weak smile and then went to take a nap. Left with no choice, his mother continued looking over the ledgers from the Blue Dragon group. She had gotten herself a job as an auditor for the group.

At the end of the second week into vacation, Uchiha Ito returned and this time unlike the always ice block he was this time he looked calm. At a training ground in the village, "Did you finally succeed, Ito-san?" Kudo asked, doing stretches while Ito watched from a tree. "Yeah, I finally became an elite jonin. Took a bit of time, but I have finally caught up with Sasaki and Ichiro. What about you? How has training been?"

"It's been fine, I'm learning how to become a sensor and how to be proficient in genjutsu."For most people, they would advise against learning so much as an academy student, but Ito, as a Uchiha, knew what it takes because all Uchiha children are expected to carry as much or heavier loads."All right then, today I'm gonna be teaching you something that will drastically improve your shuriken and kunai skills to the next level, that is, infusing chakra into shuriken and kunai."

Kudo stood surprised, then facepalmed, "Of course! Why didn't I think of this?" He felt ashamed inwardly because he thought so 2 dimensionally when there was a 3 dimension."It's fine, no need to beat yourself up for it. With how many things you are learning, you don't have the time to hone your skills to their absolute level. Take this as a lesson: just because you know the most does not mean you are the most skilled. Now let's get into it." Ito jumped from the tree and came closer to Kudo."I want to focus on releasing the chakra into your left palm, just focus it there for 5 minutes, and we will move on to the next step."It took about a minute for Kudo to do it properly and 10 minutes to maintain a sufficient release of chakra.

"Now, take out a Kunai and, like a thread, wrap the chakra around it, but the focus isn't only the surface but also the inside of the kunai." Ito took out a kunai, and multiple threads of chakra wrapped themselves around the kunai. Even though he slowed down the process, it was still fast. "If you can master this technique, then you can increase the durability of your kunai momentarily to catch your opponent off-guard, and the speed of your shuriken can be 1.5 times faster or even 2 times faster.

"Kudo started threading his chakra, but he could only make a single thread, and after 5 minutes, the chakra flashed on the kunai were minimal and not as strong as Ito's kunai. It took 30 minutes to infuse an adequate amount of chakra into the kunai, but during the process, some kunai had been broken when he infused too much chakra. Looking at the chakra-infused kunai, he wasn't satisfied that it was slow, and he only used a single chakra thread, unlike Ito.

He kept at it, and after 2 hours, he could infuse chakra in the kunai within 5 seconds, but it was still slow, and he knew that only with experience could he shorten the time. Next, he went to work on infusing chakra into a shuriken, unlike a kunai with a single tip, a standard leaf shuriken had 4 tips, and he had to manage the chakra distribution, or the chakra infusion would fail.

From there, he went to work on throwing chakra-infused shuriken. At first, the aim was off; there was more force in the throw due to the chakra at his fingertips, the speed of the shuriken had indeed increased, but it was not yet double his normal throws. When they started striking the targets, they destroyed the wooden boards completely.Kudo was happy with the result. One of the things he wanted was to be able to kill the enemy with a shuriken instead of only wounding them.It took another two days for him to completely adjust to the technique, and Ito was once again off on a mission. In his training to be a sensor, he had moved on to normal shuriken and kunai, along with senbon needles, into the mix. Whenever he got gravely injured, there was a medical ninja to help with the wounds, so he didn't have any scars. Most of his training continued in a monotone manner except when he went on expeditions around the village with his friends, Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji, and Kiba. They explored the great stone faces and left some paint and then went into the carious forests around the village seeking to find treasures but sadly they found none. They went on an eating journey around restaurants in the village and egged those that wouldn't serve Naruto, something Kudo still didn't understand why they hated Naruto, but he knew of the demon fox.

Naruto's resolve got stronger the more he faced such treatment, which left Kudo wondering what his dream was. He didn't want to be Hokage as he didn't see the appeal, and that was Naruto's dream. He knew of Madara and Hashirama, but he didn't resonate with either of their paths. He wanted revenge on his father's murderers, but that would take him a long time to accomplish. He did, however, have an interest in developing his water nature and seeing how far he could go, but aside from that, he wanted something else, maybe a wife, to explore or longevity, but he didn't want to be another Orochimaru.Just what was his dream? His purpose?
