Chapter 3 - Nothing Broken

Ollie.

Ollie was content. His eyes where closed and he took the moment to take it all in. The cushion of bed the under his back, the softness of the duvet on top. The gentle caress of fingers moving down the outside of his arm and the faint pleasurable tickle left in their wake.

He ran his hands up Dwayne's sides, his back, bringing them up to wrap around Dwayne's broad biceps. He felt the muscles twitch under his palms and sighed.

"Can we stay here?" Dwayne asked, speaking into the side of Ollie's head, and his sigh turned into a small laugh. Dwayne shifted, running a hand over Ollie's hair, brushing it away from his face.

Ollie smiled up at him. He loved looking at him. He loved the way his blue eyes seemed to have a sheen to them when he two of them where like this. The way his perpetual scowl would disappear and he would smile easily. Moving his hand up to cup a bearded cheek, Ollie allowed himself a moment to examine the beautiful man above him. Flushed faced and hair mused from their tussle. Dwayne was the most beautiful man Ollie had ever set eyes on, and he would love to lay in bed with him for hours.

Unfortunately, the room was beginning to grow a little too warm and there were other matters. When his cluster of closest friends had tried to fill him in on the situation, Ollie unfortunately had to ruin it for them. He had heard it from the grape vine, a different variation of the story, but the same story nonetheless. Ollie chose to believe the one told by his friends.

He knew that Theo would more than likely talk to Blaine, and Blaine would probably be more successful at getting useful information than the others were. So, Ollie, emotional at the time, made his boyfriend promise that he would talk to Blaine and he would use his big brain to come up with some kind of plan or solution. It was a promise he didn't want to admit regret to making.

Ollie slipped his hand to the back of Dwayne's head, carding his fingers into his hair and pulled him down for another kiss.

"I'd love that," Ollie said against his lips, "But no." He pushed Dwayne away. "It's getting hot and you should really talk to your brother."

Dwayne stilled completely and said, "Please do not mention my brother while we're making out." Ollie chuckled, pushing the larger boy off him. Dwayne flopped onto his back with an exaggerated grunt.

"Do you think they've spoken yet?" Ollie asked, looking over his shoulder at Dwayne who was drifting off, eyes closed. Ollie reached over and slapped him on the chest. "No sleeping."

Dwayne started with an offended yelp. "I wasn't." He defended himself, "I was examining the inside of my eyelids."

Ollie stood up and adjusted his rumpled clothes. When done, he placed his hands on his waist and raised a brow at his boyfriend. "Get out of bed and go talk to you brother." He said with a sharp slap to the knee. Dwayne grumbled something, rolled out of his bed and started to walk towards his door.

"Put your shirt on first." Ollie chastised, his brows pinching.

"God, you're so damn pushy." Dwayne groaned and Ollie scoffed.

"I know I am. And I know that Blaine doesn't want your rippling abs anywhere near him. Stop being difficult." Ollie snapped.

"But it's fun." Dwayne whined sitting on the end of his bed. Ollie caught glimpse of him as he watched Ollie move around his room, gathering his things and tossing them into a used and tattered book bag. Ollie pulled on his hoodie and paused from doing the zipper.

"Shirt." He said pointedly and Dwayne whined, clenching his eyes shut. Ollie reached into the open top dresser drawer and grabbed he first thing he touched. Dwayne was then hit in the head by a pair of rolled socks. He opened his eyes and scowled at Ollie.

"Try that again, I-" This time he was his square in the middle of his face by a balled up T-shirt. Dwayne yanked the thing from his face,

"Ollie- Ow!" He threw up arms up to cover his face, "Stop Throwing clothes at me!" He heard Dwayne shout.

"Then. Get out. Of bed." Ollie said as he continued to attack Dwayne with articles of his own wardrobe. Dwayne lowered his arms from his head and looked around for what was thrown at him. He saw one white high top on his bed and it's mate on the floor. He looked up at Ollie, mouth slightly agape.

Ollie hadn't realized he had thrown shoes at Dwayne, and had to work really hard to keep his face impassive but he still felt the corners of his mouth twitch, at the amazing expression on Dwayne's face.

"Did you just throw shoes at me?" Dwayne asked.

"Maybe." Ollie replied quietly.

"Don't throw shoes." Dwayne said, calmly, with a small shake of his head. Ollie knew this whole moment could go either way. One six half dozen of the other. Ollie shifted with a sniff, looking away.

"I throw whatever I want." Ollie said, firmly with a shrug. He began patting his pockets, looking for anything he didn't want to forget. He didn't have his phone. There was a moment of tense silence where he knew Dwayne was weighing options, and Ollie actually began looking for his phone. Finally, he heard Dwayne muttering as he sat up, pulling on the shirt that Ollie had thrown at him.

"So fucking unbelievable." He griped. Ollie wanted to scowl at him.

"Please, talk to Blaine," Ollie knew he was rambling, "I'm certain he's talked to Theo by now. Where is my phone?" He looked on top of Dwayne's dresser; picking things up and putting them back down. He kicked random articles of dirty laundry on the floor and groaned in frustration, his playful mood soured.

"Seriously, Dwayne." He whined, getting down on his knees, peering under he dresser and the desk. "Know what's amazing? Seeing your floor. It's truly a magical experience."

"Do you work again tonight?" He heard Dwayne ask behind him.

"What? No." Ollie snapped, "It's just, I'm just... worried about Theo. And I'm kinda tired. I got a lot going on in my head right now, I'm trying to write a novel with Lee and I would like you to talk to your brother and I can't find my goddamn phone because your room is such a fucking mess!"

Dwayne sighed and then he leaned over Ollie, wrapping his arms around him he pulled him up to his feet. Ollie stiffened in his arms for a second and then relaxed a bit. Not completely, but Dwayne took advantage of it. He pressed a kiss into the side of Ollie's neck.

"Breathe, angel." he said softly, "It's going to be okay. I'll talk to Blaine and we will get to the bottom of this. I don't want you stressing yourself over this."

Ollie wanted to laugh at that. "I always stress. I worry about you guys." He always found it very hard not too.

"Thank you for caring." Dwayne held him tighter, and Ollie let his head fall back into his shoulder. "But, right there's no use worrying. Not until we know more. So, don't. Go home, make some tea, run a bath and relax. You worry too much for someone your age. Let Blaine and I talk. I'll let you know when I know something."

That sounded nice. He could do that. "I can do that." Ollie spoke his thoughts quietly.

"Thank you. Oh and-" Dwayne let go of Ollie and went to the bed, reached under the pillow and pulled out a phone, "You always tuck it under the pillow."

Ollie looked at the phone in Dwayne's hand, legitimate surprise etched onto his face. He heaved a heavy sigh and the surprised expression slipped off his face. He tiled his head to side and sighed.

Dwayne was right. There wasn't any point in stressing out right then. There may not even be any reason to stress out at all. They didn't know, and they wouldn't know until they got more information and Theo's full side of the story. There was nothing he could do at that moment. He pulled away from Dwayne and stood on his toes to kiss him fully on the mouth.

"I'm going to go now," He said, firmly. "Talk to Blaine. And maybe shower."

He turned and left the room. He could hear talking coming from Blaine's room and smiled to himself. Everything was going to be fine. He slipped his feet into his purple Vans and stepped out of the house. He waved to Blaine and Dwayne's parents as they pulled into the driveway, which they eagerly returned.

Dwayne's mother, warm and comforting smiled, pulling him in for a hug. She asked if he needed a ride home and Ollie politely refused.

"No thanks, Peggy." He said, when he was finally freed from her arms. He hitched his bag on his shoulder. "I'm going to go meet Levi and work on this writing challenge we are doing this summer." Peggy looked absolutely enthused.

"That sounds like a lot of fun!" She exclaimed, "I wish Dwayne would take part in something like a writing challenge. It'd be good for him. And how is Levi? He's such a nice boy."

Levi was indeed a nice boy. A member of the art club and an honour student, Levi was shy and often kept to himself, but the public knowledge of him having a black belt in karate and being the youngest son of a well off police constable made him out to be one of the most unapproachable people in the school.

And, Theo didn't like him. So, Dwayne didn't like him. However, Ollie didn't care. Levi was a good guy.

"He's doing well." Ollie said, with a nod.

"I always hoped that he and Dwayne would get along." She said sounding hopeful, "Maybe you might be able to pull some strings."

Ollie laughed outright. "It's going to take a lot more than me talking him up to sway Dwayne. Trust me, I've tried. Your son... he's..."

"Peggy, leave the poor boy alone!" Peggy's husband called over to them. Ollie looked at him and smiled. He lifted his hand in greeting.

"Hi Richard." Ollie called out to the man, grateful for the timely interruption. He looked back at Peggy. "I really should get going though."

"Yes well," She pulled Ollie in again, "It was good to see you and we'll see you when we see you."

Ollie nodded and waved to Richard once more before bounding down the drive way and onto the sidewalk. Instantly he pulled out his mobile and dialed Levi's number. He picked up on the second ring; his voice was smooth and melodic.

"House of Horrors, Levi speaking."

"Hey Lee. What are you doing right now?"

"I'm reading but I could definitely be doing something else."

"Want to brainstorm date? I have ideas that I want to bounce off you."

"I can be down with that. I've had a few things on my mind too." Ollie hear movement from the other end of the line and the sound of flipping pages. "I have about... nine pages of notes and ideas so far."

"Awesome. How about we meet at Starbucks." Levi groaned into the phone.

"You know how I feel about Starbucks."

"The Bean will be packed with stress and shit, and they're closing up soon anyway. Starbucks is always dead at this time." Ollie countered, and added "Please?"

"The drip coffee is awful. It can thin out tar. Strip lead paint. Clean car engines."

"Staff discount." Ollie countered, brows raised as though Levi could see him.

Levi huffed quietly into the receiver. "Fine." He said. "I'll do it for the novel."

"I thank you for your sacrifice."

"You better. When should I be there?"

"Be ready in fifteen minutes."

"What. Why?"

"I'm walking down your street, meet me outside your house."

"Roger that. Levi out."

Ollie ended the call, and pulled out his ear buds. He plugged them into to the headphone jack and selected an upbeat playlist from the early 2000's before slipping the phone back into his pocket. He let himself get lost in the music and continued his way towards Levi's with a bounce in his step.

Five and a half songs later, he intercepted Levi in front of his luxurious house. Ollie paused his music and tugged the buds from his ears. He smiled at Levi who was calling over his shoulder at his father standing in the open front door. The light from the inside lit his blonde hair like a halo and made his silhouette stand out dark.

"Call if you're going to be late, Levi." Mr. Greene called to his son, and looked at Ollie. "Make sure he does, Ollie."

"I will sir!" he said with a silly salute. Levi made a small gagging sound and pulled Ollie away by his arm, waving back at his dad. Ollie shook himself free and gave Levi a playful shove.

"That's my dad." Levi said looking down at Ollie.

"Your dad is a handsome man, and it's easy to see where you get your looks from." Ollie said with a shrug, and Ollie wasn't lying. Levi looked identical to his father. Tall and lean, with regal features and a soft brow. The only difference was that Levi had his late mothers colouring. His light brown to dirty blonde hair and green blue eyes were all her.

Levi smiled genuinely at him. "Thank you, but still."

"I get it. No blatant drooling over your super model, constable father."

"Again, I thank you."

"So what have you got thought out so far?" Ollie asked, changing the topic.

"Well, I've mostly been doing world building. I worked out a lot of the kinks with the dragons and the landmasses, but we should still do some character things. Talk about where they are how they fit into the world. I was also-"

Ollie's phone started to ring.

"Sorry! I'll just-" he pulled it out and looked at the screen. Dwayne's name flashed at him. "Are you serious? Not even – Ugh. Hello?" He answered.

"Hey. Where are you?" Dwayne's words were rushed and he sound excited.

"I'm walking down the street. Why?"

"You're not even home yet? That's great. Meet us at Starbucks. Call the boys. We'll be there soon."

Ollie was too taken aback by his boyfriend's haste, that he couldn't supply him with a snarky remark about the short span of time that had passed since he left. Instead his mind halted. "Wait. Hold on. What?" he asked.

"Look babe, I gotta go. I'll see you in like, five."

"Is this about Theo? Did you talk to Blaine?"

"Yeah."

"That's great! Uh, I'm with Levi right now, but we'll meet you there."

"Yeah, kay. Bye." Dwayne hung up and Ollie was pretty sure he didn't quite catch the 'I'm with Levi' part. He stopped and turned to Levi.

"I'm guessing you've heard what happened with Theo, yeah?"

"I've heard things." Levi said, narrowing his eyes, "Why?"

"Well I guess that Blaine has figured some stuff out about it and he wants to talk with us. Dwayne asked me to call Beau, Farin and Kieran." Levi's face softened noticeably and Ollie went on. "I don't want to just ditch you and honestly, you might be able to offer some insight or whatever. You down?"

"Well, I don't want to intrude. This is a family matter. But, I'll stick around for a coffee and hang back until you're done. Maybe we can do some writing afterwards?"

Ollie smiled widely. "Aw yeah, that's great. Thank you, Levi. I just gotta make a call." Levi nodded and Ollie quickly dialed Kieran's number.

"You got Kieran."

"Hey Ki, are you with your brother?"

"Yep." Kieran said, popping the 'p', "And Beau's here too."

"Perfect. I just got a call from Dwayne. Meet us at the Starbucks."

"We're already here."

"We're five minutes away."

"We?" Kieran asked quietly.

"I'm with Levi."

"Oh." he heard Kieran's breath catch a bit, "Okay, that's cool. See you in a few."

They both hung up and again Ollie had a bounce in his step and as they made their way up to the Starbucks that was inside their favourite bookshop, he noticed that Levi did too.
