Chapter 5 - Talent show trouble and new friends.

Rosia woke up feeling a little different today. Instead of her usual "Oh no, what crazy thing will happen?" feeling, she felt a mix of butterflies and excitement in her stomach. Maybe it was the strange cinnamon tea Lady Grimbella gave her. Or maybe she was just nervous about the school event coming up—the annual Infernum Talent Show.

Rosia wasn't sure what her talent was. "I can barely do magic without causing a mess," she told Zed, who was practicing juggling tiny fireballs with a big grin.

Zed laughed. "That's why you should try! The wild ones always get remembered."

Rosia decided to spend the day learning about her friends' talents and stories to get inspired. First, she found Bibble, a tiny imp who loved stealing socks—not just any socks, but ones with magical secrets inside.

"They say socks hold a little magic from their owner," Bibble explained proudly as he showed Rosia two mismatched socks.

Rosia wrinkled her nose. "That's kind of weird... but also cool."

"Both, for sure!" Bibble giggled.

Next, Rosia met Lumo, a glowing floating ball full of sarcasm. His talent was making funny but smart jokes—and lighting up a room, literally.

"Talent show?" Lumo rolled his glowing eyes. "I roast people and shine bright. That's my thing."

Rosia smiled when Lumo made a joke about their teacher's funny pumpkin hat. Even grumpy Professor Malcador chuckled.

Then there was Grag, the big rock demon who only talked by dancing. Rosia wasn't sure what his dancing meant, but it looked impressive! She clapped every time he finished, even if she didn't understand.

Rosia still didn't know what her talent could be. Then Lady Grimbella surprised her with an old music box that played a soft, magical tune and let out tiny sparkling butterflies when opened.

Rosia's eyes lit up. "Maybe this could be my talent!"

That night, Rosia practiced with the butterflies, and her friends cheered her on.

"You don't have to be perfect," said Zed. "Just be yourself."

Rosia felt happy. Maybe this weird demon world was starting to feel like home.

But before going to sleep, Rosia thought about her parents.

What if they're stuck somewhere dangerous?

What if I'm not strong enough to find them?

She pushed the worries away, deciding to be brave and face whatever came next.
