Chapter 66 - Chapter 66 Go to level 3 power station

"Oh, by the way, if you encounter any metal items, bring them back and throw them into this Charred Furnace. From now on, I won't charge you for pickaxe repairs or key exchanges."

Leon's pained expression, as if he was bleeding profusely, made the Villagers, who didn't have much brain capacity, feel like they had gotten a great deal.

Little did they know, just picking up a few metal items and throwing them into the Charred Furnace would be enough to cover their pickaxe repairs.

The rest would be pure profit for Leon.

For safety, Leon opened the wooden door leading to Level 1. Level 1, an abandoned warehouse, had far more resources than Level 0 and was safer than Level 2, an abandoned public belt.

So, Leon ultimately decided to have these Villagers, who dared to strive for emeralds, all go to Level 1.

Watching the Villagers walk through the wooden door.

Leon commanded the Iron Golems wandering in the Overworld: "You go protect the Villagers!"

The Iron Golems, having received their command, followed behind the Villagers, passing through the wooden door together to reach Level 1.

Seeing the wooden door close.

Leon smiled and sighed: "I never thought the Villagers that appeared in this upgrade would have intelligence. Aren't they just perfect tools?!"

They have backpacks, can dig things, have infinite stamina, and are full of drive!

Each of them is a perfect model worker.

"Still no diamond??"

Leon climbed out from underground in the Overworld with a helpless expression, took the Rough Gold Ore from his backpack, and threw it into the Charred Furnace.

This upgrade still didn't yield any diamonds, but it did introduce two new ores: Gold Ore and Lapis Lazuli.

"If there isn't any, then so be it. Let's update the weapons first…"

The tinkers' construct mod has many very practical weapons, such as boomerangs, cleavers, and the most shameless Combat Banner.

The Combat Banner is shaped like a sign, but its color has changed; it's an upgraded version of the original shield in Minecraft.

When attacked from the front, it can consume durability to block, completely reduce damage, and reflect damage back to the attacker. It can also reduce attacks received from behind.

This makes it much stronger than the original shield.

And its durability is very high.

"There aren't any good materials right now, so let's just make do with ordinary materials to craft a set of tools and weapons for now…"

Waving the newly crafted Combat Banner, Leon always felt a bit unreliable. This thing was too small; it didn't provide the same sense of security as a shield.

Looking at the wooden door leading to Level 2, Leon softly murmured: "Tsk tsk… Should I try the Backrooms?"

After checking the items in his backpack to ensure nothing was left behind, Leon returned to Backrooms Level 2.

The moment he stepped into the Backrooms, the noisy hum of machinery flooded his ears.

Leaving the room and following the narrow passage towards the dark area formed by the big explosion, although he had the 100x encounter BUFF, it was really difficult to encounter an Entity in Level 2, where the number of Entities is relatively small.

Turning a corner, an unlocked wooden door caught his attention.

"Did I miss a room to search before?"

Walking closer, Leon looked at the wooden door in front of him with a puzzled expression. This wooden door was somewhat different from the ones he had seen before. Besides being unlocked, its exterior looked very clean, as if it had just come from a furniture factory and been carried over and installed here.

"Could this be a door to another level?"

The most well-known, easiest to find, and most frequently used exits within Level 2 lead to Level 1, Level 3, and Level 4.

They all appear as unlocked doors.

However, what made Leon uncertain was that the space of Level 2 was very stable, and all exits leading to other levels had been marked by other Wanderers or organizations, with the destination level written on the doors.

Reaching out and grasping the doorknob, Leon cautiously opened the door.

Behind the door was a corridor similar to the one he was in, except there weren't as many messy pipes inside. However, there were very few lights, and the dark environment looked much more oppressive than Level 2.

Seeing no danger inside.

Leon walked straight in. As soon as he entered, the original buzzing machinery sound was replaced by another creaking sound.

This sound was even more headache-inducing.

Turning to look at the door behind him again, as expected, the wooden door behind him had indeed disappeared, replaced by the same type of corridor as the one in front of him.

Seeing this, Leon frowned slightly and said, "Why does it feel like I've been kicked out?"

Logically speaking, as long as one passes through certain doors, stairs, elevators, or ceilings in a normal way, one should be able to return along the original path.

"Never mind, I can go back anyway. From the looks of it, this should be Level 3, the power station."

Level 3 is the fourth level of the Backrooms, and one of the first few levels Wanderers typically encounter.

Level 3's structure is similar to Level 0. Both are composed of randomly segmented rooms with no specific pattern, and both are filled with the roaring noise of machinery.

The corridors here are narrow and enclosed; some even require Wanderers of average height and build to bend, stoop, crawl, or walk sideways to pass through.

The walls are composed of dusty brown bricks, some with copper pipes and machine parts. The floor is made of gray tiled floor covered with more dust.

After taking out the Combat Banner and M500 from his backpack, Leon walked forward. The light emitted by the incandescent lamps overhead was very dim, feeling as if they could go out at any moment.

This oppressive environment combined with the surrounding noise would definitely cause problems for ordinary Wanderers if they stayed too long.

Soon, a pitch-black room appeared at the edge of the corridor. The room was utterly dark, and a large generator inside was emitting an unpleasant noise.

"It seems this is the so-called power room…"

Although these power rooms might hide tricky Entities, they are rich in resources. According to the exploration records of E.M.G., electrical or electronic equipment such as circuit breaker boxes, computers, loose wires, security camera monitors, and fluorescent lights have appeared in the rooms.

He took out a small invention kindly sponsored by Dr. Agasa from his backpack.

Flipping the switch.

The 5000-lumen flashlight instantly illuminated the pitch-black power room.

Immediately, a scream rang out from within the power room. Leon's face showed a triumphant smile upon hearing the sound.

A Hound was hiding in the power room, preparing to ambush.

But now, this guy was lying on the ground, howling incessantly. Being directly hit in the eyes by 5000 lumens of light, let alone being in darkness, even in sunlight it would make it unable to open its eyes.

"Still trying to ambush?"

Leon, holding the Combat Banner in one hand and the flashlight in the other, walked into the power room with a sneer. Soon, a series of blunt thuds echoed, and the mournful screams also vanished.
