Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

Shiina Mahiru frowned. "At this point, shouldn't you be asking me what's bothering me?"

Asagi took two steps back and covered his crotch in an exaggerated gesture. "I'm afraid if I ask, you'll think I have designs on you, and then you'll use 'physical means' to make sure I can't get it up again." "Pfft, are you an idiot? As long as you don't do anything bad, I wouldn't do something so terrifying," Shiina Mahiru glared at him with her aqua-blue eyes. This person really loves to mess around and never plays by the rules. He had even managed to make her laugh.

Asagi smiled as he watched her laugh so charmingly. "Sure enough,Shiina looks best when she smiles. Even the cherry blossoms around her are overshadowed. Frowning doesn't suit you."

Shiina Mahiru looked at him in surprise. Was it that obvious? Just as she was about to say something, Asagi had already snatched the trash bag from her hand. "I'll throw this away. Shiina, you should rest early."

Watching his retreating back, Shiina Mahiru touched her burning cheeks, her mood becoming incredibly complex. "I look best when I smile?" She couldn't help but pout."He clearly said before that my smile was like how I treat strangers, like a service staff's professional smile." Though she grumbled, she was in a very good mood. Although she had just moved in, everyone at Sakura Dormitory was very nice. Of course, with the exception of Jin Mitaka, who was dating six people at once. She really couldn't imagine that someone could be so unfaithful.

---

Meanwhile, the unfaithful Jin Mitaka was lying in his hotel bed with a gloomy expression. Today, Misaki Kamiigusa had sent him an animation proposal, saying it was created by his kouhai, Asagi Okashisai. What did this mean? It was a slap in the face!

Jin Mitaka knew his skill level was not enough to partner with Misaki properly. That's why he had thought about applying to other schools, studying for a few years, and then returning to her side. But, was Misaki not planning to wait for him anymore?

Jin Mitaka then thought of his six girlfriends—well, now it was five. The married woman, Mieko, had left. He felt he wasn't good enough for Misaki and that it was better to wish her well. But, Asagi seemed to already have Sayu Ogiwara as a girlfriend, so he wasn't good enough for Misaki either! If Asagi knew Jin Mitaka's thoughts, he would definitely want to punch him.

Jin Mitaka took the proposal he had painstakingly worked on from the drawer and couldn't help but throw it into the trash can. He had to admit that all his proposals to date were inferior to Asagi's Mahou Shoujo concept. If Misaki Kamiigusa and Asagi got together, what was all his effort during this time for?

Jin Mitaka really wanted to go back and ask Misaki if she liked Asagi, but he was afraid of getting an answer he didn't want to hear. When facing their 'white moonlight', men tend to be cautious and anxious. But while he was thinking about his efforts, he forgot that the effort he showed Misaki was just spending six nights a week partying and accompanying his girlfriends. When Misaki urged him to submit a proposal, he was always unhurried, submitting it only on the last day, and it was always disappointing.

If it happened occasionally, it wouldn't be a big deal. For someone he had a good impression of, and his childhood friend, Misaki would surely forgive him and be willing to give him a chance to improve. But Jin Mitaka was always like this, which provided the perfect contrast for Asagi, allowing him to successfully seize the opportunity. Ah, that's not right either. It was clearly Misaki herself who got drunk and, well, did something with Asagi, so she coincidentally opened her heart, and Asagi naturally moved in.

Back to the main topic. Jin Mitaka planned to return to Sakura Dormitory the next day to check on Misaki's situation. No matter how anxious he was, what needed to be faced still had to be faced.

Early the next morning, Jin Mitaka returned to Sakura Dormitory. He knocked on Misaki Kamiigusa's door but received no response. He pushed the door open and found no one inside. "Not here?"Shaking his head, he walked towards the stairs, intending to ask others. Then he saw Misaki Kamiigusa, her face flushed, wearing a somewhat disheveled men's shirt, tiptoeing out of Asagi's room.

Jin Mitaka felt his heart being sharply pierced. He quietly returned to his room. When he came to his senses, he was already in tears. Seeing that scene, did he even need to guess? Asagi must have already been with Misaki. Misaki was even wearing his shirt. So, should he leave now?

At noon, Chihiro Chitose received a set of keys and a checkout slip. Seeing Jin Mitaka's gloomy face, she didn't say much, processed the rent collection, and refunded the excess rent to him. Jin Mitaka left Sakura Dormitory.

And Asagi also received a notification. "Sakura Dormitory Cleanup Quest Completed!"

---

"Ding! Congratulations, User. Quest completion reward has been issued." "Congratulations,User. You have obtained the special skill: Onmyou Kikai." "Onmyou Kikai:The user's attacks carry esoteric energy. The target hit has a chance to be 'Cursed,' manifesting a visible status bar. If the bar is depleted, the target is instantly 'Dispersed.' Effectiveness varies based on the target's nature and strength." "Congratulations,User. You have received the fixed quest completion reward: 1,000,000 yen. Current balance: 2,100,000 yen."

Upon seeing the notification, Asagi was first bewildered. The quest was completed? Jin Mitaka had already voluntarily checked out? But why didn't I, the landlord, know? Moreover, it was a tradition at Sakura Dormitory to hold a farewell party; it was a wonderful custom. Even when Sorata Kanda left, everyone happily sent him off. But this guy, Jin Mitaka, broke the rules. However, never mind. It was good that he left; Asagi didn't even have to continue his plans.

Calming himself, Asagi focused on examining this newly acquired skill. "Onmyou Kikai? What kind of strange skill is this? 'My attacks have a chance to curse the target?'"

His gaze fell on his pillow. He threw a punch at it. Once, no reaction. He punched about three more times, and a notification appeared before his eyes. "Target (Pillow) is Cursed. Onmyou Kikai activated!" Then,a status bar-like object appeared above the pillow. Asagi curiously punched it a few more times. "Ding! Skill Onmyou Kikai stacked!" After the status bar reached zero, the pillow suddenly disintegrated with a soft "poof." Then, the cotton inside, along with the fabric, turned into fine dust and mysteriously vanished.

Asagi was dumbfounded. This skill is too awesome! What 'Onmyou Kikai'? This is clearly an instant-death mechanic! As long as he attacked a designated target, there was a chance to trigger the effect. Once the opponent's status bar reached zero, they would be dispersed. Asagi was a little touched. Finally, he had a genuinely powerful offensive skill. His safety index was skyrocketing.

The previous Spirit Eye Strike skill was also good. It automatically charged when encountering a youkai or spirit, allowing for a single powerful attack. But it could only be used once per charge. If he encountered a high-HP target and the single attack didn't defeat it, then he would be in trouble. But with this Onmyou Kikai, as long as he landed enough hits to trigger the effect and deplete the bar, it would instantly disperse the target! Moreover, it wasn't limited to supernatural entities. Any target he could hit could be affected, as the pillow had proven.

Next time I encounter that spirit-seeing girl, Miko Yotsuya, and her troublesome apparitions, I probably won't need to rely solely on Damage Reflection. With Spirit Eye Strike and Onmyou Kikai, I can actively purify evil spirits. With this power, Asagi felt even more confident about his future happy life. His gaze fell thoughtfully on the now-empty space where his pillow had been.
