Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Asagi took Sayu Ogiwara on the train to the largest nearby supermarket. In the clothing section, he bought her several sets of everyday dresses and tops, two coats, and two sets of underwear—which turned out to be the most expensive items.

After spending a hefty 58,000 yen, he brought the completely refreshed Sayu Ogiwara home, stopping on the way to pick up some groceries.

Sayu Ogiwara seemed very happy. A man willing to spend money on a woman showed that she held some place in his heart. Although Asagi had said the cost of the clothes would be deducted from her future salary, it made her feel more at ease and respected.

When they returned to Sakura Dormitory, the beautiful Chihiro-sensei was chugging from a bottle of wine. Seeing Asagi and Sayu beside him, Chihiro Chitose couldn't help but roll her eyes.

"Asagi-boy, are you taking after that Jin Mitaka now? You actually brought a girl back to Sakura Dormitory?" "It's outrageous! My father never should have sold this place!"

Asagi smiled and shook his head. "I can't compare to Senpai Mitaka's smooth operation of dating six girlfriends at once—at least, not yet." "This is Sayu Ogiwara. She'll be living in Sakura Dormitory from today. I've hired her as the dormitory's management assistant." "Chihiro-sensei,please help her with the check-in procedures." "Sayu will be in the room next to mine."

Although Asagi was the owner of Sakura Dormitory, he had kept Chihiro Chitose on as the manager. She was familiar with the role, and since he had to attend classes, he naturally didn't have time to manage the property himself.

Chihiro Chitose rolled her eyes again. "Are you sure she's a resident and not your little mistress?" "A'management assistant'? Seems more like a secretary who'll only be managing your affairs." "The secretary handles work when there is some, and gets handled when there isn't."

"Well, anyway, it's none of my business. Miss Ogiwara, please come with me."

Sayu Ogiwara instinctively looked at Asagi, seeking his opinion. "Go ahead.Chihiro-sensei is a good person and a great beauty. She's easy to get along with."

"Hey now, Asagi-boy, I like hearing that," Chihiro Chitose said, immediately pleased.

---

Sayu Ogiwara followed Chihiro Chitose to a small office on the first floor. Chihiro glanced at her, then took out a form and handed it over. "Fill in your basic information."

Sayu Ogiwara obediently filled it out and handed it back. Chihiro Chitose was surprised when she saw it. "Your home is in Hokkaido? That's far. You came here all alone?"

"Yes," Sayu Ogiwara nodded lightly.

Before running away, her brother had given her 300,000 yen, telling her to adjust her mindset, go out and see something new, and then come home. But she didn't want to return to that cold, unwelcoming house. So she used most of the money on a ticket to Tokyo—far enough away, she thought, that she wouldn't be found.

After that, she needed money for food and lodging. Once her funds ran out, she could only sit dejectedly on a street corner, pondering her life.

During that time, an uncle had approached her, leering, asking if she wanted to go home with him. He'd obviously pegged her as a runaway looking for shelter. Just as he was getting uncomfortably close, Asagi had suddenly appeared and extended his hand to her.

"Come home with me."

"Hey, I saw her first!" the uncle had glared at Asagi with dissatisfaction.

Asagi didn't argue. He just took out his phone. "Hello, Police? Yes, here's the situation: there's a suspicious middle-aged man attempting to harass an underage girl..."

"Stop, stop! I'll leave, alright? No need to make it sound like you're some saint who doesn't have the same idea," the middle-aged man had cursed before walking away.

That left the girl with only one choice. Compared to a lecherous uncle who would undoubtedly use her and skip out on any responsibility, she naturally chose the handsome Asagi.

Then, one thing had led to another... He had taught her all sorts of shameful things…

Chihiro Chitose looked at the girl in front of her, her expression first distant, then blushing brightly, and said speechlessly: "Stop daydreaming.Judging by your age, you should still be in high school. Do you have any ID?"

"Just this." Sayu Ogiwara took out her student ID.

"Well, it'll have to do," Chihiro Chitose said, giving her a meaningful look but not pressing further.

Truthfully, a student ID—especially one from a school in a remote area like Hokkaido—wasn't sufficient for proper check-in. But the landlord was Asagi, and he had specifically asked her to help smooth things over and get Sayu Ogiwara a legitimate resident status. Chihiro Chitose was, after all, a teacher at Suimei University of the Arts Affiliated High School; vouching for a student's identity wasn't a problem. Presumably, no one would look too closely.

Of course, if Sayu Ogiwara's family came looking for her, that would be a different matter. But this girl had run all the way from Hokkaido, and her family didn't seem to care much. It appeared Asagi wasn't just taken by her looks; he was being genuinely kind.

Chihiro Chitose completed the check-in procedures for Sayu Ogiwara and handed her a resident's ID card. Looking at the words "Sakura Dormitory Management - Sayu Ogiwara" printed on it, Sayu was a little stunned.

Chihiro Chitose didn't explain. She just waved a hand. "Alright, run along back. Otherwise, that boy will think I'm deliberately keeping you from him."

Sayu Ogiwara's face turned as red as a boiled shrimp, but she didn't try to explain. Instead, she quickened her pace.

Pushing open the door to Asagi's room, an enticing aroma of food washed over her. Sayu saw Asagi cooking in an apron and quickly ran over, looking at him with a hint of playful reproach.

"You didn't keep your word. You said I would do the cooking."

Asagi smiled and pinched her soft cheek. "Today is your first day here. According to Sakura Dormitory tradition, we hold a welcome ceremony." "So I have to prepare a feast and invite everyone. You can help me." "Don't worry, all the work will be yours in the future. I'm the lazy type." "Okay,"Sayu Ogiwara replied with a sweet smile.

Soon, several plates of fragrant stir-fries and a steaming hot pot were placed on the table. "Alright,go call everyone over!" "On it!"Sayu Ogiwara ran out excitedly.

She found Chihiro-sensei first. "Chihiro-sensei, Asagi-kun asked me to tell you dinner is ready." "Okay,no problem. I'll make the calls," Chihiro said, pulling out her phone.

The residents of Sakura Dormitory began to emerge from their rooms.

The first out was Sorata Kanda, a shy boy who loved raising cats. When he saw Sayu Ogiwara, he froze, his face instantly red. He clearly hadn't expected the new member to be such a pretty girl.

"Don't get any ideas, Kanda. She's the landlord's," Chihiro quipped. "Ah?Oh… I wasn't!" Sorata Kanda scratched the back of his head, looking wronged.

"Is this the new member? Such a cutie! Nana! I'm Misaki Kamiigusa, third year. Nice to meet you! Please take care of me!" The energetic, short-haired upperclassman enthusiastically grabbed Sayu's hand, radiating friendliness.

Sayu Ogiwara was momentarily stunned, then quickly bowed. "Hello, Senpai. I'm Sayu Ogiwara."

"Oh my, the newcomer is a beauty? Nice to meet you. I'm Jin Mitaka. You can call me Jin-senpai." A handsome boy with a somewhat frivolous air sauntered in, flashing a charming smile and a wink in Sayu's direction.

Misaki Kamiigusa puffed out her cheeks in displeasure. "Jin! You can't hit on Sayu-chan! Be careful the landlord kicks you out!" "Ah,so Sayu-chan is the landlord's girlfriend. Don't worry, don't worry," Jin said, raising his hands in mock surrender. "I'm just here for tradition's sake. Welcome to Sakura Dormitory, Sayu-chan! I won't eat with you all; I've got a date waiting." With that, Jin Mitaka walked away. With six girlfriends, he used Sundays to rest—the other six days were meticulously scheduled.

Asagi felt a twinge of envy. Is that guy a time management master? And how does he keep six girlfriends who don't object to him dating others? Rumor had it one was even a married woman…

"Okay, don't mind that playboy," Misaki said, waving a hand. "Let's have a toast together! Mmmph! So delicious! Asagi-kun, your cooking is amazing! Why didn't you show this skill sooner?"
