Chapter 39 - 39 (The Conference Room Showdown)

The threatening arrival of four men and the commotion they caused drew everyone's attention in the conference room.

Something bad is about to happen.

That thought ran through everyone's minds — especially the security staff. Liu Dakui had come for revenge.

"Isn't that Ren Kun?" some of the wealthier attendees whispered. They wondered why he was here — applying for a job or coming to cause trouble? From his posture it looked like the latter.

"Xiao Chen, come here — we're here to settle things!" Ren Kun barked, pointing straight at Xiao Chen seated in the middle.

The crowd gasped — they'd clearly come to pick a fight.

Qiu Dasi and the others were excited; if Ren Kun had a grudge, they could enjoy the spectacle and later join in. Xiao Chen glanced at Ren Kun and Liu Dakui, puzzled why they were together — wasn't Liu Dakui aligned with the Flying Eagle Gang? — but he wasn't afraid. They were just loud show-offs; he didn't believe they could create real trouble.

What did catch his attention were the two middle-aged men behind Ren Kun. Their presence felt like that of masters — top-tier fighters.

"Want to pick a fight? Does your face hurt?" Xiao Chen rose slowly with a faint smile.

Ren Kun's face darkened as he recalled the slap Xiao Chen had given him earlier. "You're asking to die, kid. Kneel and beg me for mercy!" he sneered.

Liu Dakui stepped forward, voice hard: "Kneel and apologize to Young Master Ren or I'll—"

"When did you become Ren Kun's lackey?" Xiao Chen taunted.

Ren Kun boasted that his two elders could handle Xiao Chen. The middle-aged men released an oppressive aura, making many in the room uneasy. Xiao Chen's expression cooled — did they really think two masters would let them dominate?

Ren Kun offered him one last chance: kneel and kowtow three times, and he'd spare him. Otherwise he'd break Xiao Chen's legs and force him to kneel anyway. Liu Dakui added his own demand: apologize and leave Qingcheng Company.

They intended to publicly humiliate him. Liu Dakui had originally planned to use the Flying Eagle Gang against Xiao Chen, but internal conflict prevented that. Hearing the company was recruiting security guards, he'd grabbed Ren Kun and planned this spectacle.

Xiao Chen smiled coldly. "Kneel? Break my legs?" he said — those words hadn't been used on him in a long time.

"Ren Shao, deal with him!" Qiu Dasi limped forward with a sinister grin. More wealthy youths who'd been shut out of the company by Xiao Chen joined, all nursing grudges.

Ren Kun was smug at the number of enemies Xiao Chen had made in a few days. Then the two middle-aged men, "Brother Leopard" and another, prepared to attack. Brother Leopard even volunteered to "clean up such a little guy himself."

Before the clash could escalate, a simple, honest voice called from the door and a huge, dark figure strode in. Xiao Chen smiled inwardly at the sound.

Everyone looked up. The newcomer was huge and powerful. Li Hanhou walked forward, ignoring stares, and confronted Brother Bao (Brother Leopard). He teased, "Just you? Want to clean up Brother Chen?"

Brother Leopard sneered and attacked. Li Hanhou's fist struck back and Brother Leopard staggered — the crowd could tell by the impact who was stronger.

"My mother said I won't let Brother Chen be hurt. If you want to touch him, deal with me first!" Li Hanhou growled, muscles tensed like steel. He charged, fighting with brutal power.

Brother Leopard's counterattacks barely affected Li Hanhou. The newcomer's strikes — Bajiquan and Piguaquan — were fierce and overwhelming. Li Hanhou's "Mountain Cannon" punch sent Brother Bao reeling, blood at the corner of his mouth.

Seeing Li Hanhou's dominance, Liu Dakui panicked and rushed in to help his side, but Xiao Chen intervened — delivering a kick to Liu Dakui's lower abdomen that sent him flying.

"Leave Dahan to me," Xiao Chen said, recognizing he needed to end the fight quickly. Li Hanhou pressed the attack, moving with powerful, fast strikes, taking on both opponents without losing momentum. The other middle-aged man and Brother Leopard were shocked — this wasn't a casual brawl.

When the two elder fighters felt Xiao Chen's aura, their faces went pale. "Martial artist… a master?!" they blurted, realizing they were up against true masters after all.
