I had no idea how long I'd been in that void.
No light. No sound. No warmth or cold — just nothingness.
But strangely, I didn't feel fear.
If anything, this emptiness felt… familiar.
Peaceful.
Like the whole world had vanished, leaving only me behind.
A smile tugged at my lips.
"This place feels like the real world… meaningless, merciless."
I didn't know if a day had passed, or a month, or a century.
Then, out of nowhere, a deep laugh echoed across the darkness — a laugh that seemed to come from the bottom of the universe.
I turned my head.
A tall, old man stood before me, his glowing crimson eyes piercing through the void.
His presence was overwhelming.
He didn't say a word. He just smiled.
And so we stared at each other — a silent contest of wills.
Neither of us blinked. Neither of us spoke.
Then, without warning, he burst into manic laughter. The sound cracked through the silence like thunder.
He stepped closer, leaned toward me, and spoke with a voice that rumbled like the end of the world:
"Do you know who I am, boy?"
I laughed back, a cold laugh from the depths of my soul.
"Hahahaha… What the hell is wrong with this world? Old man, how would I know who you are? I've never seen you in my life."
For a moment, he stopped laughing. His glowing eyes widened as though he hadn't expected such an answer.
Then he roared:
"Insolent brat! You dare say you don't know me? I am the ancestor that makes even worlds tremble! I am the God of Destruction, the Warlord of the End, the Harbinger of Ruin!"
He spoke as if his very presence should make me kneel.
I didn't even flinch.
I just raised an eyebrow and spat to the side.
"God of Destruction? Cute name. Fits a crazy old man well. Do you expect me to kneel just because you slapped a fancy title on yourself?"
For a moment, his face faltered — as if no one had ever dared speak to him this way.
Then he suddenly asked:
"What is today's date in your world?"
I shrugged.
"I wouldn't know. Men like me don't care about dates. The world is nothing but a battlefield."
He stared at me in silence for several long seconds. Then, finally, he smiled.
He floated closer, and this time, his feet touched the ground as though he had stepped down from some divine throne.
"Interesting… No wonder the System chose you as its heir. I never thought there'd be a human who could mock the God of Destruction to his face."
My expression darkened at the word System.
"So this old man is connected to Orion…"
His voice boomed again:
"It has been countless eons since this body died. Perhaps billions of years. I never thought anyone would remember me. But enough about the past — you are now the System's heir. Remember this, boy: your current strength isn't even worthy of breathing the same air as me."
I smirked.
"And what if I don't want your damned System at all? That thing had the audacity to give me orders like I'm some dog!"
The void fell silent for a second.
Then — in a blink — the old man appeared in front of me. His massive hand closed around my throat before I could react.
He leaned in close, his glowing eyes burning straight into me.
"I'll forgive your insolence — this once. Not because you deserve it, but because I like your arrogance. But remember this: a true man knows when to advance… and when to retreat."
He released my throat, and I staggered back.
"The System is not your enemy. It is a tool — one created to push your growth as fast as possible. Do not see its missions as orders. See them as opportunities. When you become strong enough… you will understand everything."
I didn't reply. My vision blurred, the void collapsing around me as I fell back into darkness.
His laughter followed me as I sank:
"This brat's heart is darker than mine! Hahahahaha!"
Then everything went silent.
I woke up in the throne room, gasping for breath.
The sound of battle shook the walls. Screams, steel, and fire echoed through the castle.
The System window popped up on its own, displaying a mission: Protect the Kingdom.
I smiled coldly and closed it with a single tap.
"No orders. I'll greet this world my own way."
I grabbed a massive battle-axe mounted on the wall.
Its weight should have been crushing, but the raw power surging through me made it feel like a feather.
I flung open the throne room doors and walked out into chaos.
Guards were screaming, soldiers were dying, and the enemy had already breached the outer walls.
When the soldiers saw me step into the courtyard, silence fell for a brief moment.
Then — the slaughter began.
I swung the axe.
A soldier's skull exploded.
I spun it around and split another man's body in half.
I moved like a storm — a black hurricane of carnage. Friend, foe, noble, peasant — none of them mattered.
"Your Majesty! Stop!"
"He's killing everyone!"
Their shouts didn't reach me.
I laughed. I laughed like a madman as I painted the ground crimson.
The blood pooled beneath my feet, screams mixed with the sound of bones shattering.
Civilians vomited in terror, some tried to flee, but I only saw prey.
The massacre lasted for half a day.
When it ended, not a single soul remained alive.
No enemies. No guards. Not even the nobles who had hidden in the deepest parts of the castle.
I sat in the middle of the blood-soaked courtyard, breathing heavily — grinning.
The System appeared:
Mission Complete: Kill 2000 Enemies
Reward: +10,000 System Points
I chuckled darkly.
"Guess you don't care whether I kill allies or enemies."
I opened the System Shop, my eyes instantly drawn to fire-related skills.
Flames. I loved flames.
I wanted to burn everything until nothing but ashes remained.
I purchased a skill marked Catastrophic Tier:
Flame Dragon – Level 1/9
Summons a massive dragon made of fire to annihilate enemies over a wide area.
Then I checked my status:
Name
Raven Kailos
Level
7 (Beginner Realm)
EXP
1000 / 300,000
System Pts
0
Skills
Flame Dragon (1/9)
But something strange caught my eye — there was no combat classification listed.
The System's voice rang in my head:
"You are one of the Heirs of Heaven. Heirs of Heaven can wield all forms of power — spiritual, magical, and essence energy. Your core energy is called Shinsu, the strongest force in existence."
My grin widened, dark and twisted.
"Perfect… This world just handed me everything I need to destroy it."
I grabbed the axe again and stared at the sea of corpses.
"Alright, pathetic world. Let's see how loud you can scream before you burn to nothing."
