" Fuck you Bastard! " She got up and hobbled out of the lodge and to the sheriff's car, she got in, doing her best to ignore the bloody mess that was once a human being. She was thankful that it was still running, all she had to do then was put it in gear and get to town...
Raven didn't think the deputies would believe her when she came racing down the street towards the station in the sheriff's car.
But given her state and thanks to the local legend, they believed her and sent her to the hospital while they went to get the sheriff's body.
While Raven was being patched up
When the deputies arrived at the lodge and found the sheriff's body, the three men tried not to vomit and run away because it brought home to how real their local legend was.
" How are we going to get him in the body bag? " One asked.
" How are we going to tell his wife? " A second asked.
" We put gloves on and pick up what we can, and I'll handle telling his wife. " The third replied to their questions.
" And Blitzen? What are we going to about him? She said he was up there in the attic. "
" Stuff him. What else? Now we can finally put old Nick to proper rest. " The third deputy answered.
Once they got the sheriff into the body bag, or as much as they could that is, they turned their attention to the lodge.
" Should we go now or go after those kids? " The second deputy asked.
" I say we go get that deer and mount him on the hood of one of our cars and show him around town to show the folks that he's finally dead. " The first deputy suggested.
" That sounds like a good idea. Come on, I want to see this thing for myself anyway. If those kids are anything like the sheriff, we will be out all night. " The third said.
So, the three went inside the lodge, staying on the gravel pathway to avoid stepping on the bear traps laid about on the leaf covered ground.
They used their flashlights, going up the stairs and up to the attic. And there on the attic floor lay the beast that had been a part of their town's legend for the last 10 years.
It was moving and didn't appear to be breathing.
" Jesus, those kids did a number on him before that girl finally killed him. " The second deputy commented seeing the stab and gunshot wounds.
" Yeah, but it looks like that last one did the kill shot. Good on her. Now help me drag this carcass outside to the cars. " The third deputy ordered and with great effort and time, the three dragged the body down the stairs and outside to the patrol cars.
They were in the process of hauling Blitzen up onto the third deputy's car when a branch breaking caused them to stop and listen, they didn't have their sirens on, only the lights, the only source of light other than night light above the side door at the lodge.
One got his light out and shined it out around them slowly, the other two followed the light until it landed on a pair of red eye shine. That was at an unnatural height.
" What the hell is that? " The first deputy asked.
Another snap close to where the eye shine was had the light going over to catch another set of red eyes at almost the same unnatural height as the first set, then another snap followed by a thud of a stomp of a hoof close to the second set of eyes, a third and fourth set of eyes was found there.
" What are they? " The second deputy asked turning his light to the first set while the first kept his on the last two sets.
The creature blinked and lowered its head before it moved towards them until they could make it out, but it was something that shouldn't exist and was unheard of,
It was almost the size of Blitzen, it was the color of Blitzen, but the snout and antlers were wrong, they belonged to an elk, not a reindeer.
The other sets of eyes also blinked and made their way out to them, the second set belonged to an elk, but it had the snout and antlers of a reindeer. The third and fourth had the pattern of an elk but the coloring of a reindeer, one had reindeer antlers, the other had one elk antler and one reindeer antler.
" Are you guys seeing this? No fucking way! Their hybrids! " The first deputy exclaimed in fright.
" They're not just hybrids, their Blitzen's offspring. " The second deputy replied with realization, his fear also showing in his voice as his flashlight shook.
" They won't get far with those traps. " The third reminded them, but he kept his hand on his gun.
Then a noise their left, it was Blitzen, he began to stir, he was alive!
" Oh, hell no! " The third deputy exclaimed and went to shoot him, but he was quickly thrown away by the first hybrid and right into the bear traps which snapped up and embedded into the man's arms, legs, ass, ankles, head, and back.
" JOHN!! " The second deputy exclaimed and went for his gun, but was kicked away and into another set of traps, one getting him in his groin and tearing off his genitals while another snapped on his face and one wrist.
" MATT!! " The first deputy shouted, but instead of pulling his gun, he ran down the driveway only to be met by more hybrids at the end of it. He back pedaled and ran back up the driveway, only to be met by the first four hybrids, the one that killed John and Matt in the middle staring him down while two of them were nudging Blitzen as he began to stir more, slowly getting up and looking around, probably for the girl that shot him.
Tom, the first deputy, stared as Blitzen nuzzled the hybrids around him, coming up to the one that killed his friends, the beast made a 'step aside' gesture with its head and the other beast backed down, letting its father lead.
Tom knew then that he wasn't getting out of this, so he took his gun out and aimed it at the five above him, he fired and shot out one of the hybrids eyes, the last thing he heard was the roar and abnormal screeches of the Blitzen and his hybrid offspring, the last thing he felt was a painful stabbing in his back as one of the hybrids behind him gored him as he took another shot, missing his target, and the last thing he saw, other than the beasts that killed him, was the teeth of a bear trap as he landed on one and it came up and crushed his skull, one of the teeth going into his eye.
Seeing that the deputies were all dead, Blitzen looked around for the girl that had nearly killed him, there was a pain in his ear, telling him that she had only gotten his ear. There were only three cars when he knew there was one before he had gone after the girl earlier. That meant that she had escaped into town no doubt.
Blitzen reared up and stomped the ground in anger, this will not do! He called to his offspring to join him in finding the girl and to kill any who got in their way. They called back and joined their father as they followed him out of the woods and into the town.

The townsfolk screamed and ran as the herd of hybrid deer led by their legendary Blitzen charged through their town, taking down any who got in their way, they didn't understand at first why these beasts were killing them, tearing them a part, goring them, gutting them. But they slowly realized it was because of those kids that had come into their town and must've done something to anger Blitzen and then angered his offspring.
Blitzen found Raven in hospital, but stopped his offspring from killing her, wanting to wait until all in the town was killed before he would take revenge on the young woman and he would have his revenge.
