Windsor's POV
The relentless questioning followed me everywhere I went. Ever since my secret was exposed at the pool party, every conversation seemed to revolve around one thing. I pushed through another cluster of curious students, their whispered comments trailing behind me like smoke. Pauline stayed close as we fled the pool area, but by the time we reached our dormitory, the news had already spread across Simona like wildfire.
Walking into class this morning felt like entering a battlefield.
Eyes tracked my every movement. Some gazes held curiosity, others contempt, but the worst ones burned with unmistakable hunger.
"Don't they realize you're not available?" Pauline hissed after I brushed off another stranger who had cornered me with an explicit proposition.
"They know exactly what they're doing," Arnold said without looking up from his meal. "That knowledge won't deter them."
