Every one in the palace knew Naiya for her bad temper, they all tried their best not to cross her. But they all noticed that, since the arrival of the neighbouring prince, she has not lashed out on anyone.
Ellen's palm was over her face, as it felt numb. Her ear rang and her face stung incredibly.
What did she do to anger the princess? Whatever it was she had to apologize for it, before matters get out of hand. She immediately stood on her knees, and pressed her head on the cold marbled floor.
"My princess, forgive me for whatever I've done!" But her voice never reached the princess's ears, as all her attention was on the prince, who had yelled at her over a disgusting maid.
How dare her? How dare him?! Her chest heaved as she tried to wrap her head over what just happened. Absolutely no one has ever raised their voice at her, including her family. To think that she was yelled at over a scrumpy maid?! Naiya was not going to take it.
Her eyes suddenly narrowed and a sinister smile eveloped her lips. Her brown eyes stared deep into Barron's green eyes, as though searching for something.
Unbeknownst to majority of people in the kingdom, every member of the royal family, possess certain gifts that no other has, and Niaya's happened to be able to tell the emotions of a person, by staring deep into their eyes. It was as though, she was reading their soul. It so happens that the prince, who she has once read to have feelings for her, now has his heart beating for another. She knew she couldn't change that as he was already in love with the girl. She felt completely ashamed that a lowly, disgusting maid could steal her prince away from her, and since she couldn't change his feelings, nor could she punish him for it—he is an elite with, holding power as her, it was all going to poured out on the maid. That way, she will eliminate this disgusting creature, once and for all, and also get revenge on the prince for changing his mind over her.
She looked down at the lowly maid and grabbed her hair viciously. Ellen's eyes widen in complete shock, as she felt her hair being pulled aggressively, as though wanting to pluck it out of her scalp. Naiya started to move, her heels clicking the clean marble floor with extreme force.
Princs Barron eyes widen in astonishment, and his lips twitched. What was this princess going to do with the woman he loves?
"Princess Naiya!" He called out to the enraged princess, as he ran after her. Naiya quicken her pace, with her grip on the maid's hair getting tighter as each passing second.
Ellen was still left in the dark, as she didn't know what she was being punished for. Having been serving the royal family as a maid for a while now, she knew there was no need to grasp what she had done—only to apologize.
"Your Highness, forgive me for what I have done! I promise it shall not repeat itself!" Water filled her eyes, as blood rushed up to her face, a raw burn tore through her scalp, her skin screaming beneath the cruel pull. Her pleas were like melody to the princess's ears who beamed with the delight a child has when receiving a christmas present.
"It shall never repeat itself, dear," she hummed. She was going to permanently end this filthy creature!
Barron, finally caught up to them and he took hold of one of Ellen's arm, halting the princess in the process. He tried pulling her to his side, but Niaya's grip was tight, the more he pulled the more pain the maid felt, which brought sorrow to his heart.
"Let go of her this instant," his teeth clenched and his eyes shot dagger at the princess. He was shocked by her behaviour, she had always portrayed a kind and demure image whenever he was with her, he never knew this side of her existed.
Princess Naiya turned to the neighbouring prince, his actions only adding more fuel to the fire. She met his gaze and offer him a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Her grip on the maid's hair, suddenly loosen and Ellen breathed a sign of relief, though still troubled on why the prince was raising his voice at the princess and why he was holding one of her arm.
Right after Prince Barron tensed face relax, Naiya did something no one expected. With swift movements, she grabbed the other arm of maid and pulled it hard. Fangs peeked out of her mouth and her brown eyes turned dark red, with inhuman strength, she pulled hard on the maid's arm, and suddenly her fresh started to come apart untill her arm was detached from her shoulder.
A bloodcurdling scream shot out Ellen's lungs, as her blood splattered everywhere, landing on both Barron's and Niaya's faces. The heavy scent of fresh blood filled the air, Naiya wiped off a blood stain with her finger and brought it close to her lips. Her pink tongue peeled out and licked it.
"Tsk, it tastes as terrible as the owner looks," she commented with a soft voice. Her red eyes turned to their natural colour, and her fangs disappeared. She had a satisfied look on her face, and turned away, her heels clicking softly on the marble floor.
Ellen dropped to the ground, her once innocent golden-brown eyes, was now widened with immense pain swimming through it. Her lips parted open, with blood sliding out. The dress she wore was covered in her blood, and her heartbeat slowed down. Her head gently rested on Prince Barron's thighs and she drew her last breath.
A tear drop slid from the prince's eye, landing on her pale face. His fingers went to her neck to feel her pulse—he felt nothing. She was gone. Dead.
"NOOO!" He yelled on top of his lungs. His heart ached, as though he hadn't just known her that day. His fingers moved to her face, caressing her cheek. He bent over, his warm lips came to her cold ones, and he place a gentle kiss on it. He continued to weep, and placed his head on her chest, with more tears gushing out.
Oryen stood not too far—she witnessed the whole scene. Her palms went over lips as she too sobbed. What just happened?! Was Ellen gone?! Was her friend gone?! No! This cannot be! She will wake up any moment from now and sing to her. She will... wouldn't she?
