A few minutes passed, and the siblings sat together on the edge of the cottage porch, Lannae's head resting on Henry's shoulder as tears streamed down her cheeks.
"Why are you still here?" a woman's voice suddenly demanded.
Lannae lifted her head and turned toward the woman, who was glaring at her brother with a look that could kill.
"And who is this?" the woman asked, her gaze shifting to Lannae.
"The princess, Princess Lannae," she introduced herself as she rose to her feet.
The fiery expression on the woman's face faded, and she clasped her hands together in surprise.
"The princess? The one who was kidnapped?" she asked, staring at Lannae before turning her attention toward the cottage. "What are you—"
She stopped mid-sentence, then hurried inside.
"Benjamin!" she called.
Inside, she found her son standing in the sitting room, embracing his sister.
The siblings pulled apart when they noticed their mother enter. Benjamin turned toward her with a smile.
