That year, the Uchiha clan stood on the brink of ruin.

Uchiha Makoto rose without hesitation.

“When Konoha was founded, the Senju and Uchiha clans became deeply entangled. Sooner or later, this bond will lead to the downfall of the Uchiha.”

Uchiha Madara snapped back, “Silence! I am the head of the Uchiha clan!”

He turned toward Hashirama, his voice trembling. “Hashirama… you wouldn’t lie to me, would you?”

Makoto’s eyes narrowed. “Hmph. Madara, you will regret this one day.”

A few years later…

Madara had already defected from Konoha. His voice carried bitterness as he confronted Makoto.

“Makoto, I was wrong! There are traitors among the Senju. Why is Tobirama so hateful? Why wasn’t I chosen as the Second Hokage? Why wouldn’t my own clan follow me?”

Makoto cut him off coldly. “Shut up, Madara. If you failed to become Hokage, then reflect on your own faults instead of blaming others.”

Madara’s face twisted in fury.

“Reflect on my own faults? Always the same words! You think everything is that simple? You tell me I had too little chakra—why don’t you look at my struggles? You say I trained hard but was still treated as a small fry, killed in battle by a mere shuriken—why don’t you look at that? Damn it! I reconciled with Hashirama, I led the Uchiha to shake hands with the Senju, I made peace—and still this is the result! What else could I have done?”

His eyes burned with madness as he shouted, “You’re driving me insane! Speak! Look into my eyes!”
