Chapter 126 - Curse of fate 2

"Hahahahaha hahaha…"

These were the only words that came out of Kim's mouth—just laughter.

He told her: "What did you love about a demon?"

She told him she didn't love him for any reason; she simply felt it was fate for her to be with him.

When Kim heard her, he became angry. But his anger wasn't directed at Elena—it was at fate itself. "Is fate what writes everything? Are we just toys that fate moves however it wants? How ridiculous!"

Kim looked at her with mocking eyes: "Heh! Let me tell you my age. I have lived for millions of years and billions of days! I never found anything good. I am human, but the irony of fate made me the cursed immortal."

"When I delved deeper into my power, I discovered that I am merely human. But what is 'special' about me is that I absorb life from things so I can take it away, and my days become the years of my age and my hell! I had a life… no, more accurately, I had a curse called birth. Had I not been born, I would not exist. But fate had another decision."

"If you asked me how much happiness I've had throughout the millions I lived, the result would be 1% of bliss versus 99% of rejection inside hell. Why is this not fair?"

Kim placed his hand on his chest: "I… I… no, you haven't seen this."

He pierced his own chest.

"Look! Even though there is no heart inside this body…" Elena and the maid were shocked.

"But inside me, there has always been pain—an unbearable pain that never disappears. It was born the day my mother, my lover, and my humanity died with them. Since that day, I have felt a pain in my chest that kills me. It follows me; it eats me from the inside. I also wanted to dream. I wanted to love. I wanted to marry and have children, and become a grandfather, and live! I wasn't selfish. I didn't ask for what I didn't deserve. But fate and life both became greedy for my life."

"Maybe I lived a happy life once, but why did they become greedy for me? Why me?"

A dark skeletal form emerged from Kim's back—far more terrifying. It was the form of his soul when he fought the entity controlling his domain. Kim had managed to defeat it, but Elena's legs couldn't carry her from the intensity of fear.

Kim spoke to her, telling her this was his truth—the truth of his soul and his body. Amon did not speak and did not possess Kim's body; he did not want to interfere in his life.

He told her to speak, to say anything. He looked at her with pity in his eyes:

"Do you know what the most important thing in the world is?"

Elena, terrified, answered: "Family and honesty."

Kim grabbed her by the neck and told her:

"No! It is the mind! The mind lets you control everything! And then power! Because the mind allows you to use every living thing as if it were a tool created for you. If you learn well, you will make everyone follow you as if you were the king and they were the followers, and power lets you give commands so no one ever disobeys you!"

"But what is the use now of money, or power, or a happy life without the ones I loved? I worked so hard to make the people I loved happy. What is the point after their death? What is the point of a dream if you already know its ending? The ending is not written—it is made. And fate owned everything, and I was the tool."
