Absolute silence.
No time, no sound, no light.
Amon… opened his eyes — or at least he thought he did.
But there were no eyes here.
No body to open or close.
Everything around him was an endless void, colored like the universe when it dies — that mix of black and violet-gray that no words can describe.
> "Is this… death?"
His voice echoed through the nothingness, without an echo.
Strange emotions enveloped him — a blend of stillness and fear.
He could feel that he existed… yet had nothing to hold on to.
Then suddenly —
a flash.
Before him, a human soul began to take form, slowly, from threads of light and ash.
It stood motionless, head bowed, and the air around it was fractured like frozen glass.
Amon stepped closer — though he didn't know how he moved.
> "Who are you?"
But when that soul lifted its head slowly, and their gazes met, he froze.
The face… was familiar.
> "Kim…?"
He said it softly, as if reopening an ancient wound.
Suddenly, the light emanating from Kim's body began to crack —
a thin fracture across his chest, another on his shoulder, then dozens more, spreading wider and wider until his body of light seemed to crumble before Amon's eyes.
> "Impossible…!"
Amon shouted, trying to reach him, but the void between them thickened — as if refusing to let him through.
Each crack in Kim's soul released a sound…
not like breaking glass, but like the universe itself crying out in pain.
> "His soul… it's fracturing?!"
Amon whispered, panic creeping into his voice.
Then he felt something strange within himself — a sharp, burning pain, as if those same cracks were forming in his being as well.
He looked at his hand and saw it splitting apart, violet light seeping from within.
> "No… this can't be… why me too?!"
He wanted to scream Kim's name, to hold him, to stop him from fading away —
but a faint voice, barely audible, pierced the silence between them:
> "Follow the light… before the darkness consumes you."
Amon froze.
That voice… was Kim's.
Then a massive rift of light tore open before him, breathing like a living gateway.
From it came the scent of rain… and the sound of a child's laughter.
Amon lifted his gaze in disbelief, tears — if he had any — falling from the light within him.
> "Kim… what have you done?"
But before he could step forward —
the light collapsed.
Everything shattered again.
Silence returned.
But this time…
it wasn't the silence of an ending.
It was the silence… of what's about to begin.
