Chapter 85 - The Fall of the Black Moon

When the false world collapsed, Kim awoke to see a black moon tearing across the sky, swallowing sun and stars alike — the world itself devoured whole.

A mysterious entity spoke to Kim: "Do you still want to stand against me?

I have become mightier. I have become a whole world."

The entity raised its hand and reanimated the soldiers who had died from his realm — the Eltharyon. They rose as the entity's troops. Kim wondered how this being could bring them back to life, but when he looked closer he saw the truth: they were only moving corpses, not truly alive.

Kim looked down at the earth; his eyes bled torrents of tears. He remembered his mother and his love, Mary — their promise, the days with her — and his friend who had died for nothing. Then he began to laugh, a laugh that was no longer under his control. He had lost his mind completely. His personal status screen flashed: Instability Rate 90%

— decisions become distorted based on the owner's condition. "Calm down," the screen urged. Kim addressed the entity. "Truly, I was guilty. My sins could not be erased by time. My end… when I stared into it, was hell. If I destroy you, or kill them, will my punishment lessen or increase? I have already exceeded my quota of passages into paradise. Now, with all I have done, my fate is hell. I already had hell at the beginning of my life and again at its end. I realize now that true evil never came from those who were violent all along, but from someone who once was peaceful."

Kim spoke: "If hell awaits me, I will make it tremble at my existence. You — you are a doomed one."

Kim leapt forward with furious speed, but the entity was embodied upon a form in the sky. It summoned the Sword of Hell and activated the skill Infernal Blaze. It swung the blade down from the ground to the heavens — yet to no avail; the entity's body was completely transparent and could not be struck. The entity laughed. "Do you think you can kill me?

I am the owner of this world. How can you slay the redeemer? How kill a god?

" Then all the corpses it had revived advanced upon Kim, encircling him and tearing at his body. The entity grinned a cruel grin. "Hahaha — you truly are pathetic. Afraid for your friends? Hahaha."

Surrounded and bleeding, Kim heard the entity taunt him: "It seems you have understood something, but you are mistaken."

Kim activated a skill: Ashstorm — a vortex of black flame that burns everything around it. He burned through them all. "I had many plans to kill you," he thought, "but now I know: I will destroy the world so you vanish." The ground split under Kim's hand; volcanic magma poured forth as he activated the skill Abyssal Explosion — a black burst of infernal fire.

The entity laughed and murmured to its mind: "I will drain his strength. I will take his body at the end. I will finally have a physical form, a whole world, and slaves. Hahahaha — no one will be stronger than me."

One of the soldiers who had been turned was pushed toward Kim. He shoved his hand into that corpse and said, "Enough. I am tired of you." In his hand he bore the Sword of Hell. He pushed the weapon away from the corpse with great speed and looked — "What? How? I made sure you were far away." Kim had tried to stop his tears, but his body bled uncontrollably; he could not look at her like this. It was Elena. He was certain she was far away — how could she be back? The entity looked at him. "Oh, truly?

This beautiful girl belongs to you. Thank God," it mocked. Kim stared. "Wait — what do you mean?

If you do not return her to me, I'll tear off a piece of you and make you suffer a worse torment." He drove the blade into the being's back toward its chest. But Amon had wanted to warn him that she was advancing — Kim did not hear. He cried out, "Elena! No!" She pushed the sword further; what he had not expected was that she was crying against her will. The entity sneered: "Amazing — how does she hold a will? Have the slaves such flaws?" He cracked his fingers; her body exploded in an instant. "I must get rid of bad tools." Amon screamed at him to calm down and understand, but Kim did not know what he was doing. He remembered Elena's death before his eyes — she bled black blood from her eyes. Then the owner's UI flashed: Owner Status — Frenzy. Rage rose to 100%. The owner's soul was corrupted entirely. A black hand emerged from Kim's chest. The system's silver mode tried to restore the owner's consciousness. Kim sat silent as if an empty shell.
