"In recent years, because you and that Satoru Gojo are overwhelmingly strong, cursed spirits have also been getting stronger. Even so, they still can't pose any real threat to you. But now, a possibility has appeared."
Gakuganji leaned on his cane with both hands. He did not go straight to the point. Instead, he tried to intimidate Mukuro first.
The path of jujutsu was like a marathon. Everyone was supposed to conserve their strength and slowly run toward the finish line.
But with the appearance of Mukuro Fushiguro and Satoru Gojo, two strongest special grades from completely different domains, the world seemed to begin changing.
It was as if balance had been broken, and the world was trying to repair itself. Those who came after had no choice but to chase desperately.
First were the cursed spirits.
In the past ten years, the number of special grade incidents had far exceeded the past. Even the special grade curses recorded were often stronger than earlier ones.
Then there were the sorcerers.
Just last year, a young genius like Yuta appeared. In only a few months, he relied on his own strength to firmly reach the rank of special grade sorcerer.
But the problem was, balance still could not be restored.
And right at this moment, the legendary strongest curse had found a vessel.
No matter how one looked at it, it felt like an ominous sign.
What was more, if the King of Curses truly returned, it would very likely bring catastrophic destruction to this world.
"And then?"
Faced with the threat, Mukuro responded calmly.
"Unfortunately, this incident began because Satoru Gojo was leading new students on a mission. The vessel is now by his side, and as expected, he chose to protect it."
Cold light flickered in Gakuganji's eyes as he finally revealed the real purpose of this meeting.
"The higher-ups want you to propose executing the vessel. If it succeeds, name your price."
The principal himself was the leader of the conservative faction. More than anyone, he hoped that boy would die.
Trading the death of one confirmed unstable factor for a stable future was a profit no matter how one calculated it.
And in today's jujutsu world, the only man who could stand against Satoru Gojo was sitting right in front of him.
"What if I want all of your money?"
Gakuganji's attitude sparked a bit of interest in Mukuro.
"Don't joke around—"
"Aren't you the one joking first?"
Just as the principal frowned and was about to speak, Mukuro interrupted him.
"If Ryomen Sukuna truly revives in this era, none of us can bear that responsibility. He was called the invincible King of Curses even during the golden age of jujutsu."
Gakuganji's tone grew heavier.
Even during Yuta's incident, despite Rika being an unstable factor, the conservatives had not reacted like this.
Because they were confident that if he went out of control, a special grade sorcerer would step in and eliminate him.
But Sukuna was different.
That name carried too much weight.
Even after Gojo proposed letting the vessel absorb all twenty fingers first and then executing him to permanently eliminate the threat, they were still afraid.
What if, on some day, while absorbing a finger, Sukuna went berserk and completely took over the body?
Then who would fight the strongest being in history?
And could they even win?
If they lost, what would happen to human society?
Even if they won, how many people would be killed by curses in the process?
"Invincible? That stopped being true years ago. If he obediently stayed sealed as twenty cursed objects, that would be fine. If he revives, I'll deal with him myself."
Mukuro rested his chin on one hand, treating the existence that terrified Gakuganji as nothing more than weeds.
"You—"
"If you've reached the age where you're old and muddle-headed, then retire peacefully and enjoy your remaining years. Don't interfere with the era of the young."
When Gakuganji tried to speak again, Mukuro stood up with his hands in his pockets and cut him off.
He had no interest in listening to the ramblings of an old fossil.
"Mukurp Fushiguro! This is for the safety of the vast majority of people!"
As Mukuro reached for the door, the principal made his final attempt.
Unless absolutely necessary, the conservative faction did not want to use underhanded methods.
Dragging their conflict with that madman Gojo into the open was not a good idea.
"Principal Gakuganji, if you were Sukuna's vessel, what would the conservatives do? What would you do?"
Mukuro stopped at the door and looked back at the old man.
"For the safety of all humanity, I would willingly die!"
Gakuganji slammed his cane into the floor, as if trying to express his conviction.
"You really are as senile as they say."
Mukuro was not moved at all. Instead, he smiled lightly.
He opened the door and walked out, leaving the principal behind with a face dark enough to drip water.
"Safe travels, Fushiguro-sensei!"
Miwa, standing guard outside, still held her chest high.
"Just do what you should be doing. There's no need to guard an antique like that."
Mukuro waved and turned to leave.
"Protecting Principal Gakuganji is my duty!"
She answered loudly while watching his back.
But in her heart:
'That might be a bit rude to the principal, but is this what a special grade sorcerer is like? That was so cool!'
Stars were already shining in Miwa's eyes.
* * *
"Hm?"
On the other side, just as Mukuro was about to leave the building, he heard sounds of fighting coming from a nearby training room.
Out of curiosity and boredom, he walked over.
"Flowing Red Scale!"
When he pushed the door open, Noritoshi Kamo, dressed in a kimono and usually looking like a refined noble, had opened his narrow eyes and activated the Kamo family's inherited technique.
Blood seeped from his right eye, spreading in a small area like a burn scar.
His speed and strength surged. Together with Mechamaru, the two charged forward with fierce momentum toward Todo, who stood shirtless across from them.
Todo simply tensed his muscles and charged straight at them.
The three figures clashed together. Their focus was so intense that they did not even notice the man without any cursed energy quietly watching from the doorway.
After dozens of seconds of exchanges, even with Kamo's technique-enhanced body and Mechamaru's semi-grade 1 strength working together, they still failed to gain any advantage in close combat.
"I have to ask. Neither of you are close-combat specialists, right? So why are you fighting a man like Todo head-on?"
Seeing Todo easily handle both opponents, looking relaxed and almost bored, Mukuro finally spoke up to remind them.
