All Eyes on Him
Dex glanced at the phone, a hint of irony in his smile.
"See?" he said, looking at Jin. "He can't stay away from me."
"Hmm… I'll let him get a little tired of calling."
"Answer it now," Jin ordered immediately.
"Easy… what's bothering you?" Dex asked.
"Fine. Then I'll answer it myself," Jin said, reaching for the phone.
But Dex didn't let him, quickly grabbing it before he could.
"Okay, okay… I'm answering. Relax."
"You're acting like a war's about to break out."
"If you don't answer that phone right now, then a war really will break out."
"Alright, I got it—I'm answering."
He picked up the phone calmly, but a loud noise on the other end almost deafened him.
"What the fuck—Han, what is that noise?" he said, pulling the phone away from his ear.
Then he brought it back again.
"Hello? Han? Where are you? Are you okay?"
No one answered on the other end—just loud hip-hop music blasting through the line.
Dex looked at Jin and shrugged, since no one was responding.
Jin snatched the phone from Dex's hand and pressed it to his own ear.
Loud music blasted through, mixed with the sharp clinking of glasses.
He kept it there for a few seconds, trying to catch something—anything—but he couldn't make out a thing.
Just as he was about to pull it away and hang up, he heard a girl's voice shouting—
"Smart!! Smaart!!"
In that moment, Jin raised the phone to his ear again, trying to hear more—but it was almost impossible.
His expression changed, and his hands started trembling with anger.
Suddenly, he slammed the phone down on the table.
He couldn't control himself. Frustration took over, and he kicked the table hard.
Dex still didn't understand why Jin was so angry at Han.
It didn't make any sense to him.
"What's wrong? I can't figure out what's going on.
Where is he?
What did he say?" Dex asked, puzzled.
He didn't say a word.
"Shit… Han probably hit your number by accident," Jin said, his voice tight with anger.
The truth was, Han had slipped his phone into his pocket without locking it, and that's how he accidentally called Dex!
He didn't even realize it. He just kept enjoying the music, scanning the place for any girl who might catch his eye.
"Any idea where he might be?" Dex asked calmly.
Meanwhile, the guys near him were touching him—one on his chest, the other on his waist—but he didn't even pay them any attention.
Jin hurriedly lit a cigarette, trying to calm his nerves just a little.
"I swear… the first chance I get, I'll punish them!"
His voice was now full of anger.
Dex raised an eyebrow at him.
"What do you mean by that? Punish them?
Who's Han with?"
Jin took a deep breath, his mind racing.
The fact that Smart took every chance to sneak out only made him angrier.
He looked Dex in the eyes.
"Keep having fun.
This is my gift for your arrival.
I need to go now.
A long night is probably waiting for me," Jin said, and hurried toward the exit.
As soon as he got downstairs, he got into the car.
The moment he started the engine, Dex opened the door and climbed in.
"What the hell are you doing now?" Jin asked, glaring at him.
"I'm coming with you," Dex said calmly.
"You're leaving that fun behind to come with me?
Are you joking or what?"
"Hmm… I can have that fun anytime,
but this detective-level adrenaline? I don't get to feel that every day!" he said, narrowing his eyes at him.
"You're hiding something from me, and I want to find out."
"Are you getting out of the car, or should I make you?" Jin threatened slightly.
"Forget it!
You know that even if I get out of your car,
I'll still follow you in mine.
You know me by now.
Once something grabs my attention, I don't back down."
Jin had no other choice.
He took Dex with him, hit the gas, and sped off like crazy.
✧ — ✧ — ✧
Ren had already arrived and parked the car.
Glancing at Leo, Ren saw that cute face fast asleep.
He unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car on Leo's side.
Easily freeing Leo's seatbelt, he lifted him into his arms since he was asleep.
Opening the door, Ren stepped inside, carrying him straight to the bedroom.
Leo stirred on the bed, mumbling,
"Ren… where are you?
Why aren't you home…?"
Ren dropped onto the bed and pulled him into his arms right away.
"I'm here, baby.
I didn't leave… and I never will."
A few quiet, sweet moments passed in each other's arms, and Leo drifted back to sleep.
Ren gently changed his clothes and put a robe on him.
Then he laid him back down, slipped in behind him, and wrapped an arm around him from behind.
He pressed a few soft kisses along Leo's neck, then down his back and over his shoulder.
Damn… my Leo was this close to doing something crazy.
What if he wasn't with Jin…?
What could've happened?
Uhh just the thought of him doing something with that guy made me feel sick.
"Fuck…" he whispered, pulling Leo closer and holding him tight.
Leo shifted slightly, then let out a soft murmur.
"Mmm… I can't breathe…"
"I don't want to lose my breath without feeling Ren's…" his voice trembled.
Ren loosened his arms slightly around Leo's waist, then rested his head against his back.
"Shh… it's okay. I'm right here.
Just relax, love… your Ren's here.
I'm not going anywhere."
Leo gently caressed Ren's hands, the ones wrapped around his waist.
He held them close, then murmured softly,
"Mmm… baby…"
"You're mine," Ren whispered, pressing a soft kiss to Leo's back.
After a few moments of thought and calm, he drifted off to sleep, resting against Leo's back.
✧ — ✧ — ✧
The night for Leo and Ren was almost over, as they slept in each other's arms… but not for a few others outside.
For them, the night still felt endlessly long.
Smart was still at Beat Pub, undecided about whether to join any challenge or not.
He was enjoying himself to the rhythm of the music, and that was almost enough.
"Han—let's stay a bit longer, and then we can go," Smart said, grabbing him by the shoulder.
Han looked at him with suspicion.
"Didn't you come here to dance?"
"Hmm… it's fine even if I don't dance," Smart replied.
"Are you serious, Smart?
I'm not leaving here until you dance," Han insisted.
Smart ruffled his hair.
"My baby's getting spoiled and stubborn."
"Don't call me that!"
"Dex is enough to call me a spoiled kid," he complained.
✧
Jin and Dex were already downstairs.
They were masked, as always, and it would be hard for anyone to recognize them.
They entered and headed straight to the VIP area!
As soon as Jin reached his spot, he immediately started scanning the place, searching for his Smart.
And finally, he found him…
But what caught his attention was that he was alone!
He started looking for Han, but couldn't spot him anywhere.
"Han probably went to the bathroom," he thought.
Jin felt somewhat relieved when he saw that no one else was around Smart, but he was still boiling with anger that Smart had come to this place!
Dex sat down and lit a cigarette.
"So… the reason we're here?" he asked.
Jin nodded, signaling him to look toward the bar.
Dex followed his gaze and saw Smart, then turned back to Jin.
"Smart came here to have fun without your permission, I guess?
Since you're following him like crazy… right?"
Jin shot him a fierce look but said nothing.
"With that face, he's probably scared shitless. Poor boy ," Dex said, letting it slip casually.
"Dex—don't talk too much, or I'll take these nerves out on you," Jin shot back curtly.
"How did you know they'd be here and not somewhere else?"
"Hm… I made sure he wasn't working at Light tonight.
The only place he could come was here," Jin replied.
"You made sure?
How?"
"Ren," Jin said with a mischievous smile.
"Ren? You're using Ren to get info on Smart?" Dex asked, looking at him curiously.
Jin turned his head toward him and just went, "Mmm."
Dex shook his head, smiling.
"You two are in cahoots for a reason…
I'm guessing you tell him about Leo, and he tells you about Smart.
Did I get that right?"
Jin didn't speak for a few seconds, then leaned closer to Dex.
"Am I mischievous… right?"
"I don't know if 'mischievous' is the word…
but you're so damn obsessed…
and I like it," Dex laughed.
He took a sip from his glass and started looking for Han.
"Where's Han?" he asked Jin..
"Me? You're asking me?"
"We came together.
I don't know where he is," Jin said shortly.
Dex couldn't hide his curiosity and immediately got up.
"Where are you going?" Jin asked.
"To the bathroom?
Why? Are you coming with me?" Dex laughed as he started walking.
His goal was to check for Han.
He scanned every corner of the area, but still couldn't find him.
"Damn it… where the hell did he go?" he muttered, heading toward the bathroom.
As soon as he stepped into the main corridor of the bathroom, Dex's eyes found Han.
But he wasn't alone.
Dex watched a scene he never imagined seeing.
Han had a girl pressed against the wall, kissing her like they were starved for each other.
His hands roamed over her body, and she… was insanely sexy.
They didn't care if anyone was around; they kept kissing without pause.
Dex stared from afar, unable to take his eyes off him.
A cigarette burned quickly between his fingers.
He smirked, whispering under his breath,
"Fuck… this spoiled kid really knows how to kiss."
Dex lit another cigarette and stayed for a few more moments,
watching Han's every move.
For a moment, his mind started betraying him.
He imagined himself in place of the girl, kissing Han.
The thoughts wouldn't stop, and a fire began to burn inside him.
His whole body started to awaken with that wave of heat.
He was almost melting in the moment…
and he still didn't fully realize what was happening to him.
✧
Jin's gaze was locked solely on Smart, nowhere else.
He didn't even notice the people around him in the VIP area.
Jin's eyes began to fill with anger the moment Alex and Ester approached Smart.
"Damn it… them again?"
"Smart… are you seriously trying to drive me crazy?" Jin whispered, frustrated.
He took a deep breath, pulled out his phone, and typed a message.
✉️ *Baby, you're mine.*
He sent it immediately, keeping a close eye on Smart's reaction.
Smart opened the message and immediately smiled.
✉️ *Hmm… same goes for you.
You're mine.
Don't let anyone get too close, or I'll come there myself.*
Smart sent the message, knowing Jin was still at the *Viewpoint*.
Jin read it and smirked before typing back.
✉️ *It's pretty risky here.
You'd better come!*
Smart read the message and immediately stood up, scanning for Han.
He called right away, but Han didn't answer.
Without hesitation, Smart headed straight for the bathroom…
Jin saw the scene but couldn't understand what Smart was trying to do.
He checked his phone—no new messages.
What's wrong with Smart?
Is there some kind of problem?
Maybe Zoi? Jin wondered, still unsure what was happening.
Dex saw Smart heading toward the bathroom and quickly hid, making sure he wouldn't be noticed.
Smart casually glanced around, his eyes landing on Han with that girl… and without missing a beat, he interrupted them.
"Baby, come on, we're leaving," he called.
"Smart can't see I'm taken? Are you blind?
Back off."
He kept kissing the girl, right in front of Smart.
Smart smirked.
*Let me show you how it's done,* he thought, grabbing Han by the arm and pulling him close.
Then, turning to the girl, he said,
"This is my baby.
Sorry, but he's mine… and he's coming with me."
"Smart!! What the hell are you saying?"
"Are you okay?" Han asked, then turned back to the girl.
"He's just playing… nothing's real.
I'm not anyone's… except yours, right now," he whispered to her sweetly—but it was useless; the girl walked away immediately.
Smart had pulled him close, taking control.
Han paused for a second.
"What the hell is your deal?
How can you act like that in front of her?
What are you trying to do?"
Dex stood there, listening to everything, both shocked and curious.
Smart smiled!
"If I hadn't told that girl you're mine, you probably wouldn't have been pulled away from her.
So I had to play that kind of game."
"You and your twisted little games…
'Your baby, hhh… I'm your baby,' my ass.
Let me go back to where I was," he said, his voice full of frustration.
"Come on, we're going to the *Viewpoint*.
I need to see Jin," he said, his voice firm.
"What the fuck?
You just ruined this whole exciting moment I was having…
Just so you could see Jin because you missed him?"
"Hmm… yeah," Smart said, meeting his gaze.
Han rolled his eyes.
"You're a crazy, lovesick fool.
Was it worth ruining my moment?
For who? Jin?"
Smart smiled, taking a deep breath, feeling oddly satisfied.
Han scrunched up his face at the sight of that smile.
"Enough already.
You're giving me the vibe of someone completely crazy in love!
Your eyes must be full of obsession!"
Then he lowered his head and spoke loudly,
"Oh god, why did you let this idiot interfere in my moment?
It's not enough that Dex ruins every moment for me, but now Smart has to step in too?
How tragic…
Who knows when I'll get to enjoy a moment like this again— as long as Dex, that damn tattoo, ever gives me some free time…"
Dex smiled as he heard Han's words.
"Right… you're right to think that," he muttered to himself.
"From now on… forget about free time. I'm not giving you that pleasure," he thought, hurrying toward Jin.
"What's with you? You're coming like you're being chased by some criminal," Jin asked coldly.
"We need to go to the *Viewpoint*," he said, catching his breath.
"What the hell are you talking about?
I'm not leaving until Smart is gone.
And enough arguing," Jin cut him off sharply.
"Jin, listen—we have to go," Dex said again, but Jin didn't let him speak.
At that moment, he saw Smart dragging Han through the crowd.
"What the hell is he doing now?
Where is he taking him?" Jin yelled.
"They're heading to the *Viewpoint*," Dex replied.
"What? Seriously?
Now you decide to tell me?
You've been talking nonsense the whole time, and never said what actually mattered from the start!
Damn it…"
Dex stood there, mouth agape.
"If you'd let me speak, you'd have known from the start.
Now don't complain."
"Fuck… fine, fine. Come on, let's go," Jin said.
At that moment, the crowd suddenly started shouting,
"Smart! Dance!
Smart!
Smart!
Smart!"
Jin and Dex turned their heads, seeing everyone chanting his name at the top of their lungs.
"Damn… they're crazy about him," Dex said, a hint of excitement in his voice.
Smart tried to apologize, telling them he'd dance another time, but the crowd wouldn't stop.
Han joined in, shouting like a madman.
Then Ester and Alex followed.
Smart had no choice but to head for the dance floor.
He greeted them with a wave, flashing a bright smile.
The girls practically went crazy, screaming even louder for him.
Jin couldn't hide his jealousy in that moment and slammed his fist against the table.
"Relax," Dex said calmly.
"It's just a dance, nothing more.
It'll be over soon."
Jin lit a cigarette, hoping he wouldn't dance with Ester again.
"If he dances with her again, I swear…
I'll go over there and drag him out," Jin muttered—though Dex caught every word.
"Who's got the guts to challenge Smart?" the DJ's voice cut through the room as the music dropped.
Silence.
Not a single person moved.
No one was stupid enough to go against him— it was a guaranteed loss.
"Damn…" Dex breathed out, eyes fixed on the scene.
"Not one of them's stepping up?"
"Because he's the best," Jin said flatly.
"He's never lost a single challenge."
"This is getting interesting…
I can't wait to see Smart dance."
"Maybe I should cast him in one of my music videos," he added, clearly excited.
Jin turned his head toward him.
"Don't even think about it!
Erase that from your mind."
Dex nudged him with his elbow.
"You're jealous… even of me? Your own friend?"
Jin placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Sometimes… I'm even jealous of the dance he does.
I get jealous that his dream has a name: 'Dance.'
I want to replace that name…
and make it *Jin*."
"Are you serious?" Dex asked, barely able to believe what he'd just heard.
Jin put out his cigarette and ran a hand down his jaw.
"Do I look like I'm joking?"
He's not acting normal today…
Maybe he took something wrong, Dex thought silently, keeping his mouth shut.
*
The DJ called out again and again, but no one stepped onto the dance floor.
Just as Smart was about to leave the floor—hurrying, eager to check on Jin—a voice cut through the crowd.
"I'll challenge him," someone said, walking confidently through the throng.
All eyes turned toward him, curious to see who it was.
Jin stood there, a cigarette in hand, watching carefully to see who this damn mysterious guy was.
The guy was wearing a long coat, hood pulled over his head, and dark sunglasses—making it nearly impossible to tell who he was.
Smart watched from a distance, curious to see who had ruined his plan to get to Jin.
The guy stepped closer, now standing right in front of him.
He slipped off his coat and sunglasses, and now everyone could see who he was.
The moment Smart saw him, an ironic smile spread across his face, as if to say,
"So… what the hell are you trying to do now?"
Jin could barely contain the anger flooding through him.
He gripped the glass in his hand so tightly that it shattered.
"I'll destroy you," he muttered under his breath.
