Chapter 71 - Beat ⁷¹★After☆

After

✧ — ✧ — ✧

It didn't take long before Smart appeared outside, his friends around him and his sister by his side.

The excitement they carried was clearly visible on their faces.

They walked toward the car, joking and fooling around with each other.

From the corner of his eye, Han watched Smart and smiled quietly, as if something inside him was slowly lighting up..

Leaning against the car, a cigarette on his lips, Ren smiled faintly.

Meanwhile, Zoi had taken out her phone, snapping endless photos and videos for her social media.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

As a few meters across from them, another car stood parked — black, sporty, and ultra-luxurious.

The dark windows, sharp lines, and low profile gave it a cold, dangerous presence.

Inside sat Jin and Leo, who still hadn't left.

Smart simply threw a glance at the car without overthinking it,assuming it belonged to someone famous.

"Are you sure about what you're doing?" Leo asked.

"We've been hiding all night, and now you're risking being exposed."

"Don't worry — I know what I'm doing. Smart hasn't seen this car, so he won't realize it's me."

Leo had told him several times to leave, but Jin insisted he wouldn't go until he saw Smart leave first.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

Smart walked over to Ren and leaned against the car with him, taking a deep breath.

"Worried?" Ren asked.

"Hmmm… a little," Smart replied.

Ren turned and looked him in the eyes.

"Should this be your happiest day?"

Smart lowered his gaze to Ren's cigarette, then met his eyes again.

Ren held the cigarette out so he could take a drag, and after inhaling the smoke together, he let out a soft, melancholic sigh.

"Should I be? Why do I feel like this?"

"I understand! Your mind is on Jin!

Do you even realize you're going crazy over him?"

Smart stayed silent and lifted his head toward the sky, and as he looked at those tiny sparkling dots, he remembered that night with Jin when he had traced a star on his lips with his finger.

In that moment, an energetic smile appeared on his lips, and his eyes shone like the stars in the sky.

Ren nudged him lightly with his elbow.

"Care to share those memories with me?

Hmm, I'm curious now! Come on, speak up!"

Smart just kept his gaze on the stars.

"Too much curiosity can be dangerous," he said to Ren.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

Jin realized that Smart was stressed the moment he took a drag from that cigarette!

Smart only reached for a cigarette when he wasn't feeling emotionally well.

"Oh, my little boy… are you feeling this stressed?" he thought quietly, lifting his eyes to the stars and then lowering them to Smart's magical smile.

"Hmm… thinking about that unique moment?" he whispered, making Leo curious, who immediately started asking questions.

"Which one? What moment? Tell me too," Leo said, leaning in, ears wide open to hear better.

Jin just gave him a look and stayed silent.

He felt Smart's unease, and all he wanted was to step out of that car, wrap him in his arms, and whisper,

"My babe… I'm here."

✧ — ✧ — ✧

"Okay, then let's get going," Nela said, breaking the moment between Smart and Ren.

She took Zoi by the hand and pulled out the bike keys.

"The two of us are leaving first."

Smart stepped forward, and with a swift move, snatched the keys from her hand.

"Don't even think about it!" he said, pulling Zoi back with him.

"What did I tell you earlier? I'm not done dealing with your carelessness yet!"

Nela looked him in the eyes and smiled with irony.

"You think you're scaring me? Really? Heheh."

"Keep provoking me, and we'll see," he said, heading toward the sport bike.

"Alright then! Zoi and I are taking the bike!"

"Ren, you go with Han, and Nela, since you're all heading the same way…"

"Hey, don't make it a big deal. I can go alone on the bike," Nela insisted again.

Smart just gave her a warning look.

He was already a little annoyed with her since she had ridden with Zoi on the sport bike at night.

Even worse, knowing she had let Zoi ride it by herself.

"Alright then… are we ready to leave?"

Before Smart could even finish the sentence, a voice called out from behind him.

"Hey, Smart—"

Jin, who was sitting inside the car, instantly turned his eyes toward him.

The moment he realized it was one of those guys, his hands clenched into fists, his eyes narrowing even more.

"Looks like they really don't know when to stop," his irritated voice muttered.

Smart turned his head, and standing in front of him was Jake, one of the guys from the US group, accompanied by two of his bodyguards.

Jake was the leader of the group and one of the most talked-about figures among them.

Tall, toned, with a perfectly built frame that made him look undeniably attractive.

His blond hair highlighted his big, striking eyes.

"Yeah? Go on," Smart replied shortly, as if it didn't matter at all that one of the most talked-about figures of the moment was standing in front of him.

Nela almost devoured the guy with her eyes, scanning him from head to toe without looking away.

Zoi was just as excited, knowing Jake was standing right next to her — one of the people she liked the most at that moment.

Overwhelmed by excitement, she stepped forward and asked Jake if she could take a photo with him.

Jake smiled. "Of course."

Nela quickly snapped several photos and videos, barely able to hide her excitement.

Meanwhile, Ren and Han couldn't care less about who he was.

They stayed calm beside Smart, cool and collected, almost feeling like his personal bodyguards in that moment.

Jake turned back to Smart, wearing an overly confident, almost seductive look.

"Don't you think it's a good opportunity—one no one would dare to refuse?"

Jin had slightly lowered the rear window, leaning just enough to catch their conversation.

A good opportunity? What the hell is he talking about? His eyes darkened almost instantly.

Smart met Jake's gaze and smiled faintly, calm and unbothered.

"You're right.

It would be a good opportunity…

but I'm not just anyone. Right?"

For a moment, a tense silence wrapped around them.

Smart's words sounded short and heavy.

Ren and Han just smiled at each other, exchanging glances.

Their Smart was now the coolest person in the moment.

Han whispered in Ren's ear,

"I don't know what's gotten into him, but I'm loving this Smart I'm seeing.

He's so damn sexy! And I…"

Ren nudged him lightly on the shoulder, stopping him mid-sentence.

He looked him in the eyes.

"You asshole! Stop those thoughts! Don't push it too far!"

Jin overheard every word between Smart and Jake, and a wave of pleasure washed over him.

The way Smart spoke, his stance—it hit him deeply, sending signals he couldn't fully understand.

His heart wanted him to step out of his place and move toward Smart.

He turned his gaze to Leo without saying a word.

Leo looked him in the eyes.

"I know, I know… he's your Smart!"

Jake heard it and couldn't believe the confident way Smart was speaking.

In fact, it only fueled his competitive streak even more!

He had been the first to be impressed by Smart's talent, but also by his presence and charm.

In his mind, he imagined having him on his team.

He moved a little closer to Smart, whispering almost over his lips.

Han immediately stepped in, telling Jake to keep his distance, but Ren quickly cut in, showing Han that Smart didn't need their help.

He could handle it himself.

Smart had faced even worse situations and managed them alone—so this one was just the cherry on top.

Ren lit another cigarette and handed one to Han to help him calm down.

"So is there a way to make you change your mind?" Jake insisted.

"WTF!! Change his mind?"

"I swear, I'll get out and kill him!" Jin's voice sounded even more irritated.

"Jin, calm down. Smart can handle himself. There's no reason to worry," Leo said, his eyes shifting toward Ren—his lifelong fixation.

Smart didn't make a single move. He stood firm and confident in front of him.

He gave a faint smile, eyes locked on his.

"Don't waste your time. There's no way."

Jin's heart filled with oxygen again.

He's my fucking boy.

Only mine.

"Don't shout—they'll hear us. Lower your voice," Leo whispered.

Leo—"The only thing that upsets me about Smart is that he doesn't tell me the truth.

The fact that he lies to me. Nothing else bothers me."

Jin fell silent for a moment, looking at Smart, then continued.

"But the fact that so many people want to be close to him, touch him, have him near…

it honestly drives me crazy.

I know—it's not his fault.

He just… with his charm, he pulls everyone in like a magnet.

And my jealousy wraps its hand around my throat and chokes me."

Leo stared at him for a few seconds.

"This isn't just love!

You've lost yourself inside him!

"It's something deep."

Leo smiled, gently touching his shoulder.

"What are you waiting for?

Say it."

Jin couldn't say a word.

His heart pounding hard showed that Leo was right.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

Jake leaned in, his lips close to Smart's ear, and whispered quietly:

"You think this is the first time I'm seeing you today?"

✧His mind drifted back almost a year, to the first time he had seen Smart dancing on that floor.

Mesmerized, Jake had found himself going back almost every week just to watch him move.

The day Jake had finally decided to go talk to Smart, he was nowhere to be seen at Beat Pub.

He had searched several times before, never finding him… until this very moment, standing right in front of him. ✧

Now, with Smart here, he wasn't taking a step back.

Jake leaned in a little closer and continued to whisper softly.

"I just found you again, and I have no intention of letting you go.

I'll find a way to make you change your mind."

Smart felt a little puzzled, unsure exactly what Jake meant, but he didn't give anything away—and he didn't ask, knowing it wasn't the first time he had seen him.

He simply smiled, speaking in a low, serious voice:

"Hmmm… try—but you'll just waste your time. Trust me on that."

Jake smiled back.

"I've got plenty of time to waste," he said, and walked away with his bodyguard

Jin couldn't hear what Jake was saying, and his mind began to spiral, creating all kinds of scenarios about what he might have told Smart.

*I hope it's not what I'm thinking…* otherwise, *you bleach‑blond bastard, you'll have a problem with me,* Jin thought.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

Ren chuckled softly, rubbing her hands together, and spoke in a low voice.

"If Jin were watching this scene—what do you think?

What kind of punishment would he pick for you?"

Smart smiled.

"I don't think you need me to answer that," he said.

"I'll let your imagination do its work."

He added with a hint of sweetness, "Besides, I wouldn't exactly call it a punishment," his smile lingering as if his own imagination had already run ahead of Ren's.

In that moment, an overwhelming urge to be close to Leo surged through Ren, and he couldn't hold back the feeling.

It seemed the imagination that had been meant for Smart and Jin had taken a different direction, now focused entirely on Leo.

He didn't care what time it was—his imagination was stronger than the late-night hours.

Hurriedly, he pulled out his phone and began typing.

Leo's eyes were fixed on him, curious who he was messaging at that moment.

Suddenly, his phone vibrated!

The screen lit up, revealing a new message:

📱 Ren:

"I've missed you so badly…

I'm coming to you now!"

Leo's heart was practically racing, beating fast as if he could barely wait to be in Ren's arms.

But for a moment, his smile faded—he was still there, and he needed to get to the apartment before Ren arrived.

"Jin, please—take me to my apartment quickly. Ren wants to come to me," Leo said, fastening his seatbelt.

Jin chuckled lightly.

"Tell him not to come tonight!

It's that simple. Why are you rushing us now?

Meet Ren another time."

"Jin, you jerk!" Leo shouted.

"He didn't ask for permission… he said, 'I'm coming!' Do you see the difference?

I know Ren so well, and even if I told him not to come, he'd just fixate on it even more!"

"Ok, ok—hold on a bit, they haven't left yet.

Don't worry, I'll get you there on time!"

"Why do you look so worked up right now? Your face is turning red," Jin asked, just to tease him.

As always, Leo couldn't help but get caught up in it whenever Jin teased him like that.

Leo knew this by now, and it didn't faze him anymore.

After all, they talked about everything between them—even the more intimate stuff—so there was no reason to be surprised.

"Hmmm… I'm more than worked up right now.

Want to see for yourself?" Leo said, lowering his gaze between his legs.

"Shit You look just like a little desperate slut for it," Jin laughed, shaking his head.

"Who said I'm not?" Leo replied, pulling out his phone to text Ren.

"My baby! Come and hug me.

Ren read it and smiled, whispering to himself,

"Do you really think I'll be satisfied with just hugs?"

He slipped his phone into his pocket and headed toward the car.

"Come on, I'll get you home quickly—hurry."

"Why the rush?" Or ..?Han asked.

"Yeah… someone's waiting for me," Ren replied.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

Leo heard it and smiled to himself, feeling like a fool.✧ — ✧ — ✧

Smart nodded and hopped on the bike.

Zoi immediately jumped on behind him, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.

 ✧ — ✧ — ✧

"See? And now the bike shows up too—just what was missing!" Jin murmured, his voice low, unable to raise it any higher.

"If you think about it… life with Smart is never going to be boring," Leo laughed, teasing him.

Jin just glanced out of the corner of his eye and lit a cigarette.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

Smart started the bike and rode off with Zoi.

Behind them, Ren, Han, and Nela set off in the car.

Smart kept a calm, controlled speed.

Zoi spread her arms like an angel, savoring every second of the moment.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

A little further back, Jin took the wheel, following Smart.

"Jin, please—I need to get home before Ren," Leo said, his voice tense.

"Don't worry, I'll get you there on time! You know my speed skills, right?"

Leo just shook his head.

At that moment, Jin leaned in a little closer, just to get a better look at Smart.

"What the hell… why does he even look sexier right now?

Why the hell does this guy have to be so irresistible?"

"—Because you've fallen for him, that's why," Leo laughed, pulling out his phone and recording a quick video of Smart.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

Smart noticed the car nearby and, at that moment, assumed it was just Jake's.

To get out of sight, he hit the gas and disappeared into the darkness.

 ✧ — ✧ — ✧

"Fuck—this boy is going to drive me crazy. So reckless, so stubborn, so damn rebellious," Jin muttered, then took off, driving Leo to his apartment.

The car looked incredibly cool, moving with that calm, controlled speed that cut through the air.

Jin looked completely confident behind the wheel—and with good reason, since he was exceptional at it.

✧Once, he had been a true talent, admired by everyone.

Someone had even tried to recruit him for a professional racing team, but Jin had refused.

He simply loved having his freedom—racing for fun on his own terms,

able to step away whenever he wanted✧

Smart disappeared into the darkness, and Jin drove to Leo's apartment.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

A few minutes later, the doorbell rang.

Behind that door, there was silence—no movement, no sound.

It felt empty.
