Chapter 56 - Beat ⁵⁶★speed☆

Speed

Smart read the text message but didn't reply. He simply slipped his phone into his pocket.

"Who is it?" Ren asked.

Smart shook his head.

"No one important."

Where did he get my number?! he thought, trying to figure out a solution.

"Hey, Ren—just asking—did everything go well last night with Zoi?"

Ren looked him in the eyes.

"All good! Why do you ask?"

"Nothing—just wanted to make sure everything was okay," Smart said, leaning back slightly in his chair.

Meanwhile, Jin was still at work, completely overwhelmed.

He paid attention to every detail, and that always took up too much of his time.

He tried to rest, even just a little, inside his office studio—but it was impossible.

There was always someone calling for him.

What could Smart be doing right now? he thought, pulling out his phone to call him.

"Jin is calling me," Smart said.

"Answer it. What are you waiting for?" Ren said as he lit a cigarette.

The moment Smart answered the phone, without saying a word, Jin's voice came through.

"Where are you?"

"I'm still with Ren," Smart replied calmly.

Ren glanced at him and smiled, exhaling cigarette smoke.

"So, what are you doing?

Are you done with work?

Are you tired?.."

"Hm… that's a lot of questions," Jin's voice came through.

"Give me a second to choose one and answer it."

Smart simply smiled.

"I'd suggest you answer all of them."

Okok

"I still have a bit of work here.

I'm not tired !

What are you going to do later?

Should I come pick you up?"

"No, it's fine. Go home and get some rest.

Ren will take me home," Smart said.

"Alright then, text me when you get home."

"Okay, don't worry," Smart said, then hung up the phone.

Ren smiled lightly.

"When are you planning to pick up your car from the service?"

"I don't have any plans for that right now," Smart said, giving him a mischievous smile.

"It's been there for almost three months," Ren continued.

Smart glanced at the cigarette and signaled with his eyes for him to give it to him so he could take a drag.

Ren noticed and reached out, handing it to him.

"It won't be a problem if the car stays there a bit longer anyway…"

"So, what are your plans for tonight?"

"Are you meeting Leo?"

"I don't know.

He texted me and said he still hadn't finished work.

He'll text me again later if he's coming over."

"Alright then, should we go somewhere?" Smart said enthusiastically.

"Where? There?" Ren winked.

"Yes—come on, let's go.

Oh, and give me the keys.

I'll drive," Smart said, holding out his hand.

The two of them got into the car, fastened their seat belts, and were ready to leave.

"Ready?" Smart said.

"Hold on tight."

Alright," Ren said. "Let's go."

Smart pressed his foot on the gas, guiding the car with sharp focus.

He moved effortlessly along the empty road, feeling a rush he hadn't experienced in ages.

Every turn, every curve, he took with full confidence, as if the car and his body were one.

Glancing in the rearview mirror at the empty street behind them, he then looked at Ren.

This was just a warm-up.

Then he pushed harder, and the car seemed to fly over the asphalt.

Adrenaline surged through him, filling every nerve, giving him a confidence that few could ever claim.

Finally, they arrived at the spot, and Smart slammed on the brakes, the tires screeching in a way that sent a thrill through him.

"You've been missing this, haven't you?" Ren said, giving him a playful wink.

"More than missing… I've been dying for this moment," Smart replied, a spark of excitement in his voice.

"Now it feels like I'm seeing the Smart from before…

Or maybe you've just gained confidence since the moment you met Jin?"

"Maybe that's part of it," Smart said, his tone carrying the self-assuredness that had been building inside him.

"You know I've been through a difficult time, and I had to give up the things I love.

Often, I felt like I was hitting rock bottom, like I was drowning.

Humans are truly strange—how they can change their entire being in just a few moments, and it feels like they never existed in that way before.

As if you're a completely new person, taking on a different form.

I would wake up in the morning with no motivation to do anything… just an empty feeling.

But the moment I met Jin, a strange, unexpected emotion ignited inside me.

I felt alive again.

That person made my heart send signals I'd never felt before.

When I look at Jin, I feel like I have someone who will be there for me.

No matter what chaos I go through, I feel he'll be there, waiting, protecting me."

Ren heard this and, with a slightly teasing tone, said,

"And you're telling me this isn't love?"

Smart made a crooked little face, pursed his lips just enough to make those dimples appear, and said,

"Have you lost your mind? What love are you talking about? Come on, let's go inside."

Ren laughed and started walking ahead, but Smart grabbed him by the arm and turned him back.

"Oh, and be careful—don't let Leon find out we're here!

I don't want Jin to know. I just texted him that '''I'm at home and going to sleep."'''

"Alright, alright… let's go have some fun again.

Should I thank Jin for coming into your life?" Ren said, teasing.

"Ren, shut up, or I'll make you regret it," Smart said, playfully showing his fist.

The atmosphere inside that place couldn't be described with words.

The moment you stepped in, you were enveloped by a vibe that made you feel like part of it.

People were dancing, cheering, drinking, and having endless fun.

As soon as Smart appeared at the door, everyone started greeting him, as if they had known him for years.

Girls and guys were devouring him with their eyes.

By the time they reached the bar, they had to pass through a huge crowd that only wanted to talk to Smart.

Finally, they got to the bar and settled in.

Damn, all these people behind you… and yet you spot Jin?

How is that possible? Don't you see how many girls and guys are following you?

But Jin?

All of them would fall at your feet… and yet you're going to fall at Jin's feet?

Smart leaned against the bar and turned slightly toward Ren.

"This is something new for me… hmm, how should I put it… something that feels challenging.

Let me try and see who will end up kneeling first."

Ren shook her head, a playful smirk at the corner of her lips.

"Careful… Jin can make life difficult!

Wouldn't it be better to have someone who will submit?"

Ren," Smart said, his voice calm but firm,

"Don't underestimate me… you know what I'm capable of."

I know—but when feelings get involved… believe me, you won't have the strength to do anything.Ren said, turning back to the bar to place her order.

Smart—your usual, as always?" the bartender asked.

"Yes, please. I need a little warmth," Smart replied.

Smart was almost a known figure to everyone there.

He was the only one who had never lost a challenge and was always called the best dancer of the night.

"Hey Smart, here again tonight," came Kristi's voice.

"Oh, you came with Ren…"

"Hey Ren, how's it going?" Kristi greeted.

"Kristi," Smart said, "Ren is the one who has taken over Leo's mind."

Kristi looked at Ren and asked,

"Can you separate from him?"

"Don't you dare even dream of it!" Ren growled.

Smart laughed heartily, holding his glass of alcohol in hand.

"Krist… don't get your hopes up for Leo. There are so many good-looking guys around here.

Pick the hottest guy in this place, and I'll bring him to you," he said.

Krist smiled lightly and looked him straight in the eyes.

"Then don't tire yourself too much—he's right before my eyes.

Can you bring him here for me?"

Smart downed a shot quickly.

"Krist, we've talked about this before!!"

"I know, I know—I was just joking," Krist said, smiling as he walked away.

Ren looked him in the eyes and laughed.

"So… Kristi still likes you, huh? He hasn't given up yet, has he?"

Smart took a deep breath.

"It's just a matter of time. He'll give up soon enough."

"Okay… then tell me, what happened here when you were with Leo?"

"Kristi was just teasing Leo… but Leo told Kristi he already has someone in his life. Someone's taken him."

Did he really say that?" Ren asked, taking a deep breath and feeling good.

Smart looked at him and smiled.

"You're crazy about Leo, aren't you?"

"Just like you're crazy about Jin," Ren replied.

"Ah, with one difference… Jin will go crazy over me first," Smart said.

"Damn, Smart… here we go again… starting with the games!"

"Okay, let's not argue about this anymore…

Hand me a cigarette."

Ren gave him a crooked look.

"You're not having any! You finally quit, and I'm not letting you start again."

"Just give me one to go with my drink—come on, give it to me now!" Smart raised his voice.

"I said no, and don't push it. But if you want just one puff, fine… I'll hand you my cigarette—just one, no more. Okay?"

"Okay, then just give me enough for one puff… half the trouble," Smart murmured.

The place was at the peak of its energy, with countless dancers moving and competing in challenges. People cheered after each round, letting everyone know who had won.

Smart hadn't been around for months, only reappearing a few days ago with Leo.

The crowd had been eagerly waiting for Smart's return.

He was the one who set the atmosphere on fire, making everything feel hot and cool at the same time, and the crowd went crazy over him.

The moment they saw that Smart had stepped into the place, there was no escaping—he inevitably ended up on the stage, setting the whole venue ablaze.

After a few moments, Ren and Smart got ready to leave, as they had only come to grab a drink and planned to leave quickly.

At that moment, the crowd erupted, shouting Smart's name with cheers:

"Smart, hit the stage!"

"Smart, fight!"

"Smart, king of the scene!"

Smart waved his hand, signaling that he hadn't come for this today, but no one cared.

They wanted to see him on stage, and there was no turning back.

"Go," Ren said, "have fun.

We can stay a little longer.

Leo hasn't texted me yet anyway."

"Okay then," Smart said, and he stepped onto the stage, putting on a spectacular show as always.

Every movement, every expression, every spin was perfect.

He didn't just own the stage—he owned the entire place.

There, he transformed into a Smart who forgot everything else and completely enjoyed himself.

Jin had arrived at his apartment and was sitting in the living room with a glass of alcohol and a cigarette in hand.

His mind was on Smart, and he wanted to hear his voice.

He pulled out his phone to call him, but just as he was about to, he put it back down.

"He must be asleep by now! I won't wake him… I'll wait until morning."

At that moment, a message popped up on his phone.

It was Leo.

"Are you coming down for a drink?"

Jin replied immediately:

"Okay, let's meet at the usual spot."

Jin headed down to the garage, where some of his luxury cars were parked.

He chose one—a dark gray sports car that really stood out.

He got in, pressed the gas, and drove straight toward his destination.

Leo had already gone to 'Light' and was seated, as always, in their usual VIP spot.

in arrived, stepping out of the car like a VIP, and all eyes turned toward him.

He walked through the crowd and finally reached his spot.

He sat down across from Leo, lit a cigarette, and looked at him.

"Where's your boyfriend today?"

"Do you mean your new friend?" Leo asked with a hint of irony.

Jin smiled lightly, poured himself a glass of alcohol, and leaned back in his chair.

"I mean… the one who's going to be on top of you… or has it already happened and you didn't tell me

Leo knew very well that Jin would tease him, so he had prepared himself to stay calm.

"Hmm… no, not yet.

Don't worry, if it happens I'll come and tell you.

But maybe you'll be the one to surprise us… with Smart first," Leo said, laughing.

"Come on, tell me! I'm waiting for the news!" Leo continued, pulling out a cigarette.

"You're going to start telling me, right?"

"Ah, bring me the lighter, let me light this," he added.

"You called me here just for this?" Jin said, his voice sharp.

"First, tell me this! I'm waiting! How far did you guys go?

Just kissing… or more than that?"

A smile that didn't lie appeared on Jin's face.

Leo noticed it and spoke again,

"Speak… I'm waiting!"

For the moment, just the kiss… and damn, it was so thrilling!

I can't even understand how I managed to hold myself back these past two days.

I want to claim him entirely for myself!"

Leo smiled lightly.

"How was it?"

Jin took a sip of his drink.

"Damn… he's so attractive. Sometimes his actions don't even match his cute face, yet every move he makes just makes me fixate even more.

And when he shows a hint of dominance… fuck, I like it even more…

I can't even understand myself…"

"I understand you," Leo cut in.

Jin lifted his eyes and gave him a look that seemed to ask,

"What are you talking about?"

"This happens to me with Ren!

The fact that he wants to dominate drives me even crazier after him.

Sometimes he's calm and does nothing, but I miss that dominance he has… and I start teasing him until it shows."

Jin looked at him and smiled.

"It's not the same thing."

"Ren showed it from the very first moment—he seeks dominance, and you accepted it, that's why you like it!"

"As for Smart and me, it's clear who will take command."

"I will," Jin said with full confidence.

"I just like it when he acts authoritative and stubborn.

I can't wait to have him all for myself…"

Jin continued, smiling quietly to himself.

Eh okok — just take everything at once.

You finally got what you wanted…

So, what's the plan now?

Jin lit another cigarette.

"The plan?"

"To make him completely mine!"

"But with all the things he has going on, it'll take me some time to make it happen…

I need to cut out a few things so he has time just for me."

"What things?" Leo asked, surprised.

"I told you—I don't want him working here as a waiter, surrounded by so many people.

I don't want him going to places like this.

He has a wide social circle that gets in the way of me spending time with him…

He has a sister he needs to take care of…

There are so many things that leave him with no time for me!"

"Jin—you can't stop him from living his life.

You can't be jealous to that exten

"Do you understand when I say I want him all to myself?

Then I want him 24/7 in front of my eyes," Jin said, his tone more than serious—it sounded sharp, commanding.

Leo took a deep breath.

"You have to let him live, let him do the things he wants.

Have you asked what makes him happy?"

"I know dancing makes him happy, but he hasn't told me anything!

He hasn't even told me that he works at this place!"

"Surely he's afraid to tell you, because he knows if he does, you'll stop him from working here.

You need to be gentler with him so he can open up to you.

He hasn't done it yet because he realizes that knowing you, you'd stop him from a lot of things," Leo said.

"Maybe Leo's right," Jin thought.

"Maybe I should be softer and gentler with him.

Show him that he can trust me with everything and not feel afraid to tell me anything…"

"Let me show you a video," Leo handed Jin his phone.

"Look how happy he is in that moment."

Jin watched the video, stunned by how talented he was.

Smart had a completely different expression when he danced —a different aura that pulled Jin in even more.

He zoomed in on his face for a moment and whispered,

"Damn, he looks so sexy here!"

Leo laughed, raising one eyebrow.

"He's a completely different person when he dances.

I saw it and felt it myself — it's an experience you really have to feel too.

Who's that guy next to Smart?" Jin asked, his tone sharp with irritation.

"That's Krist," Leo replied, "one of Smart's friends.

Krist is also an incredibly talented dancer and a really pleasant guy."

Jin looked at Leo, eyes sharp.

"So… you met him that night? How did he seem around Smart? Did he touch him? Did he get close? What did you notice? Tell me everything."

Leo widened his eyes in surprise, thinking, Here we go… jealousy already. Why the hell did I even mention Krist?

He took a deep breath.

"Jin, he's just a friend. Nothing more. Relax, damn it — no one's taking Smart from you."

Jin took a deep breath and poured himself another drink.

"I don't want anyone near him."

"Anyway, did you see the video of Smart dancing? How happy he looks…"

Jin's eyes went back to the video.

What do I have to do to make him feel the same way about me?

I need to be his only desire…

He has to forget everything else and choose me over everything.

I have to be his biggest dream — the only one."

I want him to leave everything else behind and focus only on me," Jin said, his voice dripping with possessive intensity.

Fuck, Jin — not again with this!

Don't do anything stupid, or you'll regret it."

"Is it wrong that I want him all to myself?" Jin asked, looking him straight in the eyes.

"No, it's not wrong, but let him choose that for himself. You can't push him toward it.

Be careful what you do… it might have consequences one day."

Jin didn't want to think that far ahead.

He just wanted Smart all to himself; the obsession only grew stronger.

He didn't want anyone else around—he just wanted to be the center of Smart's world.

A light smile played on his lips as he turned his gaze toward Leo.

Consequences?

"Yes, consequences," Leo insisted. "You could get hurt one day…"

"I only care about the moment right now," Jin said harshly.

"Smart will want me so much that he won't be able to let me go.

That's what I want—to make him want me, so he can't leave me, no matter the reason."

"Damn, you're so stubborn."

"Let's drop this for now and just calm down. But seriously… how did you end up becoming friends with Ren?" Leo asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice.

"I just used you as a threat!" Jin said, flashing a mischievous smile.

"Ah, I figured you could do that… but did he give in quickly?" Leo asked again.

"Damn, not so easily.

In the end, he didn't even believe my threats. He's got such a strong and stubborn character.

It took me some time to break him," Jin said, recalling those moments with Ren.

Leo's eyes lit up with pride.

"He's my man," he said, feeling proud.

Jin just smiled, a hint of irony in his expression.

"Let's get going now," Leo said, getting ready.

The two of them moved through the crowd and headed toward the exit.

"I'll call him—I want to see him now," Leo said, pulling out his phone.

Jin smiled lightly, watching him, still hardly believing that this was the same Leo.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

Meanwhile, Smart and Ren had already left the venue and were getting into the car.

Smart took the driver's seat again, ready for another rush.

"Hold on, Ren," Smart said, pressing the gas.

The car flew into the darkness, quickly disappearing from sight.

Smart's face was more than excited—he and the car seemed to become one, moving exactly how he wanted.

At one point, he found an open area, did a few drifting slides, and then continued on the straight road.

At that moment, Ren's phone rang.

"It's Leo," Ren said, answering immediately.

📞"Ren, where are you?" Leo's voice came through the line.

📞"Hm… did you miss me?" Ren replied with a smile.

📞"So much that I'm on my way to you," Leo answered.

📞"Now?" Ren whispered, his voice tense.

He had actually been waiting for the chance to see Leo, but he didn't want to admit he was out this late.

📞"Ren, what kind of question is that?"

Meanwhile, Smart was enjoying the speed, pushing the car harder through sharp turns.

Ren signaled at him to slow down, but it was useless—Smart didn't want to stop.

In fact, he was clearly enjoying Ren's situation with Leo.

📞"Ren, why are you taking so long to answer?" Leo pressed.

"Do you want me to start imagining things?

If you don't speak, I'm hanging up—and I swear I'll block you.

You'll only see me in your dreams after that."

Leo's voice wasn't just angry—it was trembling with frustration.

📞"My cute, there's nothing to imagine," Ren replied calmly.

"I just went out for a drive.

I couldn't stay home, so I went out to kill some time."

At that moment, Smart suddenly sped up again—deliberately, just to tease Ren.

"Fuck!" Ren shouted, jolting forward slightly.

He turned to Smart and signaled sharply—

You're dead.

Leo immediately recognized the sound of the engine and reacted at once.

📞"Ren—who's driving?"

Jin had just stepped away to get into his car, but when he heard Leo's voice, he stopped and turned back toward him.

📞"Who else but me?" Ren replied, his tone confident and firm.

"You know how good I am behind the wheel."

Ren paused, then Leo spoke again—this time colder, more serious.

📞"I'm asking you one last time.

If you don't tell me the truth, this conversation ends here.

Who's driving? Your voice is way too calm for you to be at the wheel at that speed.

Who are you with?"

Ren fell silent for a moment, unsure of what to do.

Ren glanced at Smart for a split second, thinking about telling the truth—just to calm Leo down and stop his suspicions.

But he couldn't.

He had promised Smart he wouldn't say a word.

Meanwhile, Jin could no longer contain the anger boiling inside him.

He knew Smart had been with Ren all day, yet Smart had texted him saying he was already home.

He pulled out his phone and reread the message.

What if he lied to me? he thought, and immediately called him.

Smart usually kept his phone on silent—especially at that hour.

It switched automatically.

Jin called three times.

No answer.

"Damn it!" he snapped, his voice tight with fury.

Just the thought of Smart lying made him completely lose control.

He turned to Leo and signaled him with his eyes—asking him to check if Ren was with Smart.

Leo hesitated for a moment.

But to clear his own doubts, he decided to ask.

Even if he is with Smart, Leo thought, I won't tell Jin. Not in this state—who knows what he might do.

📞"Ren…" Leo said slowly,

"…Are you with Smart?"
