It's an unfortunate day for Yuuji. Neither Yukina nor Rinko can make it because of a Roselia practice session. It's a bit of a hassle when his girls are in the same band, but since he was the one who encouraged them to prioritize Roselia, he can't really complain. Still, he can't help but feel a little disappointed.
He finds his mind drifting to the girls he scouted at a previous live show. He got their information and contact details from Yukina and Rinko. He considers going to "capture" them, but decides to try something different instead.
Yuuji heads to Shibuya with his Monster setting set to 71 points or higher. As expected for a Sunday, Shibuya is packed, and monster icons are popping up all over the place. He's hopeful that he might find his third monster here. Suddenly, a new icon appears on his screen—one he's never seen before. It isn't a monster icon, so he's curious.
He walks toward the icon, which is near Shibuya Hikarie. As he gets closer, he sees a man who looks to be around his age or a little older, also staring at his phone. The man looks up at Yuuji with a look of recognition, and Yuuji has a pretty good idea of who he is.
"Hello. The app you're using..." Yuuji says, holding up his own phone. "Do you catch monsters with a ball or an arrow?"
The man grins, as if he's found a kindred spirit. "I use an arrow. Looks like we're both players." He shows Yuuji his "Love Hunter" app screen. "I'm Gibson. Nice to meet you."
"I'm Dick. Likewise."
"Dick? Huh... I have a good feeling about you. Is this the first time you've met another player?"
"Yeah. I've seen monsters other players have captured, so I knew I wasn't the only one, but this is the first time I've met a player in person."
"I see. This game doesn't seem to have a huge player base, so there are probably a lot of people who play without ever meeting anyone else."
Yuuji realizes the player icon is new to him, too; he'd never seen one until he came to Shibuya. He wonders how many players there are.
"That's why a lot of players have set up places to get together and exchange information. Like here in Shibuya. Shinjuku is another one nearby, and Yokohama, too, though that's a bit farther."
"Really? I had no idea. I've only been playing for about a month, and I've been so focused on training monsters."
He's been so wrapped up with Yukina and the others that he's neglected to do any research, and he finds himself impressed with the other players' initiative.
"It's tough for us office workers to raise monsters while holding down a job," Gibson says with a wry smile, mentioning that he'd been swamped with overtime recently. Yuuji can definitely relate. Lately, he's been working hard to finish on time just so he can see Yukina and the others.
"Hey, Dick. Let's show each other our monsters."
"Sounds good. Let's do it."
Yuuji opens the app and notices that a previously unavailable "View" option in the sub-menu is now active.
"Yeah, just hold your phones close to each other and tap 'View.' Then just select which monsters you want to show and tap 'Confirm'."
"Got it."
"How many do you have, Dick?"
"Two."
"Then I'll show you two as well. Is that okay?"
"Yeah, that's fine."
Gibson operates his phone and holds it toward Yuuji. Yuuji follows the instructions. They show each other their screens. The images include a close-up of each monster's face and a full-body shot.
"Wow, you're a beginner with only an SSR and a UR. That's crazy. That SSR looks pretty high-rarity, even for me."
"I guess I got lucky... What do you mean 'even for me'? Does the rarity change depending on the player?"
"Exactly. The rarity of the same monster can change depending on the owner. For example, if a player who likes lolis has a monster with a score in the 30s, a player who likes mature women might have the same monster with a score of 80."
"Ah, so that's what the initial scoring was for! It was to set the rarity," Yuuji says, nodding in understanding.
"Your monsters are beautiful, too, Gibson," Yuuji says, looking at Gibson's first monster.

He's completely happy with Yukina and Rinko, but he can honestly say these women are beautiful.
"Excuse me, but what does 'Target: Opposite Sex (Limited)' mean for both of them?"
"Oh, that means they only like men, specifically me. Or they're not interested at all. They used to be lesbians."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"I mean, they used to like women and had no interest in or hated men. I captured them and trained them. Now, they're only interested in me."
"I see..."
"Ah, you look a little confused. I guess that's understandable."
Yuuji doesn't know what to say.
"I like to train and conquer lesbians, so most of my monsters are former lesbians."
"Wow, you must have some incredible technique." Yuuji tries to find a harmless response.
"Nah, you're the amazing one, Dick. It's pretty incredible to have two monsters at max affection level in about a month."
"Really?"
"Yeah. You've probably noticed already, but you can't just have sex to raise affection. You have to make the monster feel and cum. Players who don't understand that, or who are just bad at it, have a slow and stagnant increase in their levels and affection."
"My affection level never stagnated."
Gibson nods in admiration. "It seems I've met a real heavyweight... Dick, how about we make a deal?"

Yuji and Gibson have moved to a cafe, which is a meeting place for players. When Yuji arrived, he and Gibson were the only players there. Before discussing business, Yuji brought up something he wanted to ask Gibson.
Yuji asked Gibson, "By the way, do you know the difference between 'Mero Mero' and 'Complete Submission'?"
Gibson replied that while he doesn't know the exact details, the interference with the master player would be very different. He rubbed his side over his clothes and explained that he was once stabbed by a monster he had set to Mero Mero. Yuji was surprised.
Gibson continued, explaining that the monster was originally very possessive because he had many others in his harem, and she snapped and stabbed him. He was lucky that a detective's daughter and a doctor he was raising were there to capture the monster and save his life. Gibson then explained the benefits of Complete Submission. He said that another girl in his harem, who disliked the idea of a harem, accepted it after being set to Complete Submission.
With Complete Submission, a monster cannot act against or harm their master, even if they love them just as much as a Mero Mero monster. Gibson recommended that if Yuji, or "Dick" as he's called, plans to build a harem, Complete Submission would be better. Yuji thanked him, saying it was a good lesson.
A waiter then brought their orders: black coffee for Yuji and coffee with sugar and milk for Gibson.
Gibson then said, "Well, let's stop the small talk and discuss the deal we talked about earlier". Yuji agreed.
Gibson got to the point, explaining that he had found a high-quality "monster" but its rarity was so high that it would be difficult for him to capture. He wanted Yuji to capture it and then trade it for one of his. Yuji already knew about the monster exchange feature from his research on the app.
Yuji confirmed, "You want me to capture the monster you're after?"
Gibson responded affirmatively, adding that Yuji's cage still had room and that he had a monster ready as the trade material. Gibson showed Yuji a photo, and Yuji was surprised to see a very beautiful woman. The photo showed a woman with a clean, well-defined face, strong-willed eyes, long, beautiful black hair, and a toned body with a good waist and hips. Her chest was visible even through her blazer uniform, and her legs were slender.
Gibson then showed Yuji the monster's information:

Yuji found her attractive and asked if Gibson was sure about the trade. Gibson said yes, as he wanted to have a good relationship with Yuji going forward.
Gibson then pulled out another phone and showed Yuji a picture of the target he wanted captured. It was a candid shot, but her face was clearly visible. The target's name was Mei Aihara, a beautiful girl with long black hair. Gibson also showed Yuji her high school, address, and daily routine.
Gibson asked Yuji to capture her with an affection level between 31 and 50. He explained that a lower affection level would require more effort to "educate," but an affection level of 61 or higher would make him jealous. As a special bonus, Gibson said Yuji could have sex with her after he captured her. Yuji was surprised, but Gibson said he doesn't care if she's a virgin. Gibson even offered to include a "Love Arrow" as a bonus.
Yuji asked if such a thing was possible. Gibson explained that it's common in trades where the values don't match, to add something extra like an arrow or even cash. He added that it's difficult to raise the level and affection of a "lesbian" monster, so few people capture them for exchange. Yuji considered the offer, deciding that despite the time it would take away from his other monsters, he wanted to capture this one. He was also interested in having sex with her depending on her affection level. Most of all, he wanted to add Suzune to his harem.
Yuji agreed to the proposal , and Gibson thanked him, saying he was looking forward to it.
