"Mr. Moretti, I believe I know what you wish to ask."
Before Klein could continue, Roger proactively responded, "But I don't think now is an appropriate time to discuss this question. As a Seer, you could try divining about your inquiry."
Hearing this, Klein paused, seemingly exasperated by Roger's riddling behavior.
Nevertheless, he eventually drew his pendulum from his chest and held it suspended in his hand.
Soon, the pendulum began showing slight movement.
But the swaying was completely irregular—sometimes clockwise, sometimes parallel, sometimes counterclockwise.
"Unfortunately, my divination seems to point toward an unknown fog," Klein said, shaking his head.
"The 'conspicuous' anti-divination trait..." Roger thought to himself.
He removed his hat, revealing a gentle smile. "Then it seems today isn't favorable for revealing answers."
"I need to discuss some matters with Miss Angelica. I'll take my leave first. See you later on Narcissus Street."
Roger bowed slightly, and Klein could only step aside to make way.
Walking away from Klein toward the nearby reception room with his back turned, Roger bit his lips hard, trying to maintain a normal demeanor.
It wasn't that he didn't want to acknowledge Klein as a fellow countryman. The problem was that he currently carried too many complications.
Being Amon's subordinate, being Aurora Order's candidate member, and being involved in pillar-level secrets.
Although Klein didn't know these things, if he allowed the Nighthawks to notice his "new friend" at this stage, his newly found decent situation would be ruined.
So Roger deliberately gave Klein an ambiguous impression where he couldn't distinguish Roger's background.
This way, both sides could continue friendly contact as good neighbors and locals, without either having to reveal their cards.
Klein was intelligent. According to Roger's understanding from the original work, he would most likely temporarily bury the question and speak when timing was appropriate.
The benefits were numerous.
Besides avoiding trouble for Klein, if Roger accidentally became involved in some incident related to evil gods, Klein most likely wouldn't report him to the church immediately.
This made Roger feel like a scoundrel, but for the sake of his poor fellow countryman living a few more peaceful days, it was necessary.
After all, in the near future, Aurora Order would still orchestrate something significant in Tingen—arranging a major "treasure" from the God-Forsaken Land.
That incident would completely disrupt Klein's life trajectory, forcing him to leave and embark on a Fool's journey with no return.
"Miss Angelica, I can perform divination today. Please arrange a divination room for me."
Walking to the front desk, Roger addressed Angelica.
"Ah, certainly, no problem. What a coincidence—there's a gentleman here seeking a skilled astrologer. Please go to the second room on the left down the corridor. I'll bring him over immediately.
"By the way, that's the divination room Mr. Hanass Vincent usually uses exclusively, but he just told me he'd allow you to use it."
Angelica smiled and pointed to the right. Given Hanass Vincent's endorsement of Roger's divination abilities, she was eager to see his performance.
"By the way, Mr. Bonway, the club provides complimentary Sibe black tea, South Wales coffee, and Desi coffee. Which would you prefer?"
"A cup of Sibe black tea, without sugar or milk, thank you."
Roger had been a tea enthusiast on Earth. Compared to the milk tea currently popular in Loen, he still preferred pure tea.
"Very good, I'll bring it right away."
Roger nodded and walked in the direction Angelica had indicated.
Though the divination room wasn't large, it was elegantly decorated.
The table held a complete set of beautifully bound standard tarot cards, a copper mirror, and a stack of astrolabe drawing books.
"Hanass still can't forget his copper mirror divination," Roger thought with secret amusement, picking up the inverted mirror for examination.
This Aurora Order believer seemed particularly fond of magic mirror divination, promoting it whenever possible and even corrupting his students with it.
The mirror before him most likely had some connection to the True Creator, but Roger wasn't concerned.
Being contaminated by Yog-Sothoth, he wasn't afraid of additional corruption. As long as the other entity's status didn't reach the Three Pillars level, any amount would disappear without trace.
Shortly, Angelica entered carrying a cup of Sibe black tea and a cup of Desi coffee.
Accompanying her was a serious middle-aged man with a hooked nose, wide forehead, and gold-rimmed glasses.
His exquisite formal wear and walking stick suggested he was either a successful merchant or held a title.
"Mr. Bonway, this is Mr. Willis from Constanton in Midseashire. He has a divination commission you can discuss."
After Angelica spoke, she set down the beverages and consciously withdrew.
Midseashire was among the top three steel and coal producing regions in the Loen Kingdom. With recent national industrial development, quite a few merchants in coal-steel consortiums had made fortunes.
The man named Willis examined Roger and nodded slightly, though when he noticed the cat on Roger's shoulder, his mouth corner twitched downward almost imperceptibly.
Bandit clearly saw the man's dislike, so it actively jumped down and settled for an afternoon nap at Roger's feet.
"Mr. Willis, I am Metes Bonway—you may call me Metes.
"I'm skilled in astrolabe divination, pendulum divination, and tarot divination. Please feel free to make any requests."
Roger briefly introduced himself and his divination specialties.
"Astrolabe divination is acceptable. I've had previous experience with it. I don't particularly trust the others."
Mr. Willis's voice was quite hoarse. "A week ago, I brought my youngest son James from Constanton to Tingen to discuss iron ore business. Originally everything proceeded smoothly, but three nights ago James said he wanted to experience Tingen's bar culture and never returned.
"I tried reporting to police, and they conducted searches according to missing person procedures, but found nothing."
Roger nodded slightly. "You hope I can divine young James's whereabouts, correct?"
Mr. Willis nodded, taking a deep breath. "Precisely. Here are his birth date, time, and place. I understand astrology requires these details."
Roger felt relieved. What astrology feared most was clients unable to provide accurate birth times. Since Willis had done his homework, it saved considerable trouble.
He quickly drew James's natal chart, then drew a comparison celestial chart based on current star calendars on the outer ring.
The purpose was to calculate James's current environment, thereby determining his location.
Roger carefully examined the chart, but the more he studied it, the deeper his frown became.
"The life palace ruler has fallen into Pisces, forming a restraining aspect with Mars... this suggests involvement in a mysticism incident, with danger to life," he thought with growing concern.
