New Lore:
Yantras (Sacred Geometric Wards)/ Runes
Special geometric shapes inscribed slowly over specialized metals or stones while humming the sacred Sanskrit Mantras to charge the design; thus forming a Active Yantra (google Shri Yantra, for example)
- Derived from Ayaan's Indian grandmother's legacy.
- Protect against vampire compulsion, suppress blood-lust, calm minds.
- Can repel even Originals on Continental grounds.
Variants: Protection Yantra, Silence Yantra, Binding Yantra, Concealment Yantra, Weapons to hunt even the Originals.
---
The Shastra
- Ancient grimoire from Sapta Rishi legacy. Contains lost knowledge of Yantra + Mantra magic, going back 10,000 years.
- The basis for Ayaan's Yantras.
- Ayaan studied the Shastra at Alaric' house, between the ages of 5–10 → foundational to his legend. He received the legacy of a SaptaRishi's grimoire — one of the oldest Shastras' in existence—from his deceased grandmother.
---
Necklace of Restraint (Isobel's Talisman)
- Crafted by Ayaan over a year of careful crafting. It was completed on the night Isobel left Alaric and Ayaan, is powered by Ayaan's own magical powers.
- Suppresses vampire blood frenzy and weakens sire-bonds.
- Precious to Isobel — she never discards it, even when sired to Damon/Catherine.
---
Vachan
- A Sacred Unbreakable Vow or An Ancient Pact, powerful than the typical seal.
- Generally results in the total annihilation of the soul breaking the vow; no reincarnation.
---
# Daśa-Bandhana Vachan (The Ten Bindings of Oath)
At the age of sixteen, Ayaan undertook a forbidden ritual — an act of Tapasya, the self-imposed torment of the Rishis. Known as the Daśa-Bandhana Vachan, it was no ordinary vow but a covenant with the heavens and with his own soul. The rules were merciless: each binding would demand suffering, restraint, and loss — yet in return, the fulfillment of its hidden conditions would unlock power greater than any witch or hunter could claim.
The Cost:
- The sacrifice of his past life's memories.
- The surrender of half his soul's strength, drawn from two lifetimes.
- The forfeiture of his claim over the Continental and all its bound Yantras.
- The loss of half his magical might, crippling his healing and wards.
- The curse of heightened emotions: anger, desire, grief — each more corrosive than the last.
- And finally, the eternal agony of fire itself — scars seared into his flesh, his face and back burning without end, a reminder of the pact he forged.
The Binding:The Daśa-Bandhana cannot be undone by choice or by will. Only when the ten hidden conditions are fulfilled — each an impossible trial woven into fate — will the seals break, and the power be restored.
The Mark:Ayaan bears the wildfire's scars as both prison and promise — the living brand of the vows he dared to make.

Yantras & Artifacts of Ayaan and the ContinentalThe Branch
Each Continental branch is itself a living Yantra-device, constructed on precise Vaastu Shastra principles — the Indian counterpart of Feng Shui.
At every floor and wall, layered Yantras are inscribed and activated, creating a constant hum of Sanskrit vibrations in a sub-dimensional plane. The resonance is inaudible to mortals, immortals, or spirits, but it saturates the building with protective energy.
These resonant fields form the Continental's sacred neutrality: A Vachan (Oath) that must be kept or the Continental Branch would be destroyed and all the Yantras and the earth itself that it stands on will become a place of War and Dread — Anti Continental.
Supernatural beings entering a branch find their powers suppressed and instincts subdued.
Acts of violence trigger counter-Yantras, creating binding effects, disorientation, or instant neutralization.
Every branch anchors itself to a Core Yantra, an unbreakable seal ensuring balance and neutrality. Destroying or tampering with one is nearly impossible without blood from the Rishi-lineage that maintains it.
Tradition demands that each branch have a Manager descended from one of the Sapta Rishis (The Wise Seven). Only such bloodlines can activate, repair, or expand a Continental branch.
Common Variations of Branch-Yantras:
Shabda-Yantra: projects unheard mantras, clearing lingering curses, miasma, or magical residue.
Darśana-Yantra: scans visitors for hidden magical energies or blood curses.
Shānti-Yantra: calms the mind of all who enter, easing anger, lust, or compulsion.
Rakṣa-Yantra: flares upon detection of violence, suppressing supernatural force within a radius.
Continental Coins / Tokens
- Crafted from black obsidian and etched with the Golden Crown Yantra sigil.
- Functions beyond currency:
- Allows the holder to locate the nearest Continental branch or affiliate black market.
- Serves as a passport granting safe passage through supernatural zones under Continental jurisdiction.
- Can be traded for rare favors, information, or services in the hidden economy.
- Different grades of coin exist, tied to membership (D → C → B → A → V → VV → VVV). Higher tokens carry exponentially stronger enchantments and protections.
Agneyāstra (अग्नेयास्त्र) – The Weapon of Fire
- A relic forged by Ayaan's ancestor using ancient Shastra knowledge and powered by Yantra geometry.
- Not a divine weapon of gods, but a blood-bound recreation of the mythical Agneyāstra.
Appearance: a dagger-like weapon core, dark steel etched with crimson Yantras that glow only when activated by Ayaan's blood.
Abilities:
- Erupts into flame upon activation.
- Burns vampire flesh with unnatural permanence, leaving scars even on Originals.
- Slows werewolf regeneration and disrupts hybrid healing.
- Its flame is not ordinary fire but Agni, the sacred elemental fire invoked by mantra.
