"It's not over yet!" Kane smiled faintly, raising his claws to the heavens.
As the Sky God, how could Rayquaza not summon the wrath of the skies?
The Clash of Dragons
RUMBLE—
The once clear sky blackened. Clouds boiled and twisted together at Kane's command, blotting out the sun. The world sank into suffocating darkness, broken only by lightning that flashed like cracks across the heavens.
Even Kaido, veteran of countless battles, felt the weight of danger. His eyes gleamed. It's really becoming interesting!
"Almost…" Kane muttered. Then he roared:
"Thunder!!"
A colossal bolt of black lightning, so thick it seemed solid, tore down from the clouds as though to split the world in two.
Kaido's face hardened. For the first time, he twisted into his hybrid form, his muscles surging. "Boy, I recognize you! This is the disaster I want!"
His mace flared with black and red energy as Armament and Conqueror's Haki wrapped around it.
"Thunder Bagua!!"
The mace, puny against a thunder pillar twenty meters wide, met the strike head-on. And yet—the lightning froze in place, unable to descend further.
BOOM!
The sky shook with deafening explosions. Shockwaves ripped the island apart, and Kane had to take flight to avoid being swallowed by the devastation. From above, he watched the clash in awe.
It's worthy of a 110 base power move… I can actually match one blow from a Yonko. If I cosplay as Enel and form a lightning ball, I might really erase an island.
But such power came at a price—slow charge time, low accuracy against agile foes. Against Kaido, who wanted to take damage, it worked. Against anyone else… less so.
Kaido's Counterattack
Kaido's arms bulged as he roared against the thunder's pressure, the ground beneath him collapsing. And then, like a drunken god swinging a bat, he bellowed:
"Just lightning? Back to the heavens with you!"
With a wild swing, Kaido knocked the black thunderbolt back into the sky.
RUMBLE—
The clouds shattered, the sun burst through, and light once more spilled across the earth.
"Hahahaha! What a joy!" Kaido laughed, lowering his mace. His eyes burned with satisfaction as he turned to Kane. "Boy, I like you more and more."
The Third Disaster
Kane exhaled, reverting to human form. He spread his arms. "That's enough, Mr. Kaido. I'll join the Beasts Pirates."
"You cunning brat." Kaido chuckled, but he didn't mind. With a wave of flame-clouds, he said, "Climb on! From today, you'll be the Third Disaster of the Beasts Pirates!"
Kane shook his head. His body twisted, scales flaring, until a massive emerald dragon—Rayquaza's true form—unfurled across the sky.
Kaido's eyes lit up. "Your beast form can fly directly? Good! I need to use flame clouds to soar, but you… you ride the wind itself."
With a flash of light, Kaido himself transformed into his hundred-meter azure dragon. Together, the two dragons soared into the dawn. From the ground, it must have looked like gods crossing the heavens.
Though compared to Kaido's mountain-sized coils, Kane's form was smaller, like a younger dragon trailing its elder.
Skyward Conversations
On the journey toward the New World, Kaido's booming voice cut through the clouds:
"Rayquaza, Sky God, eh? Never heard of it. Not in the Devil Fruit encyclopedia either."
"Maybe too rare. Or maybe… I'm the first." Kane forced a casual shrug.
Kaido didn't press. The seas were full of bizarre powers. Instead, he asked about Kane's earlier attack.
"Summoning thunder is one thing, but compressing lightning like that? That's beyond the usual."
Kane was frank. "My fruit lets me control the weather. Wind, fire, lightning, shock waves… even meteorites."
Kaido snorted in approval. "Sounds close to my power, but broader. I can summon clouds—but I can't bend the weather at will."
"Everyone has their strengths," Kane replied sincerely. "Your flame clouds… they're incredible."
He meant it. Kaido had lifted Onigashima itself with flame clouds; Kane couldn't match that feat—yet.
"Mr. Kaido," Kane pressed, seizing the moment, "will you teach me Haki?"
"Hah! You're the first brat bold enough to ask me to be your teacher!" Kaido laughed, the sound echoing like thunder itself.
Kane smirked inwardly. If only you knew how famous 'Teacher Kai' will become…
Dusk Over the Seas
As dusk fell, the golden light of sunset painted the clouds. Kane, seeing the sky aflame with beauty, murmured, "How beautiful."
Kaido scoffed. "Beautiful? Don't joke with me, brat. The seas have plenty of skies like this."
Kane's mood sank. If I could beat him, I'd punch him right now.
With that, he fell silent, letting Kaido's laughter fill the skies.
By dawn, an island with towering walls appeared on the horizon—destination: the New World.
