Ambrosia had always been a closed off child, at first it was just being shy.. but it was twisted by a... certain, event.
Ambrosia has had a twin brother, she had always been very close to him. being the only person who never judged her or looked at her like a princess.. aside from her parents of course, but it had become a core traumatic memory long ago when her brother had been taken one day.. they had both only been kids at the time but the loss had still devastated her.
eventually this sadness had turned into hatred towards humans, deep rooted and unyielding.
so imagine her shock when she comes to her magic class on a random Tuesday to smell the blood of her bloodline, of which only she her parents and brother held, along with Hecate's blessing that is only given to the vampire royal family, in a random classmates of hers.. who upon further investigation seems to have no family to note of.
how awfully convenient right? now logically upon finding something like this you would deny it, see if he truly is your seemingly long lost family but who said emotions were logical?
it was due to this that Cain was being pinned to a wall by a trembling and confused Ambrosia..
"b-brother..?"
when he had evolved the gift into a blessing he had already expected something like this.. but how could he have known she had a long lost twin brother? for all he knew she was just going to mistake him for someone her family sent to guard her or something
but who is Cain if not both a liar and a scumbag right? not like this will come back to bite him in the future.. definitely not.
however its not like he could just say oh yea I'm definitely your long lost brother uhuh!
"e-excuse me..? I'm sorry Ambrosia but i think you have me mistaken.."
"mistaken..? ah.."
logically he had been kidnapped at a young age, there is a very likely chance he had forgotten what happened due to trauma as a safety mechanism or he had just forgotten, they were kids after all.
so she had dragged him to a private space to talk to him.. and hopefully make him remember something
"so what your saying is.. I'm your long lost brother..? i was aware i was a vampire but definitely not of royal blood.."
"are you sure you cant remember anything from your past..?"
not that he couldn't it just never happened but he's gonna need to fake it till he makes it.. like always
"haah.. it does line up at least.. when i was younger, i was kidnapped. i cant remember much from before the kidnapping to be honest.
but if what your saying is true.. than i can tell you why i was kidnapped at all."
urging him to go on he continues with his made up story
"after my kidnapping my kidnappers.. they extracted my blood, the blood of a royal vampire is very valuable right..? but they kept taking.. and taking and taking..
they had eventually taken almost.. too much, it could have possibly been one of their experiments too but i don't know.. but in the end.
in the end i was no longer a vampire.. not fully at least. you can sense it right? how faint my blood is. you could say I'm a half vampire now."
this news.. they weren't light, its basically like being told.. well not basically, she was literally just told her long lost brother was tortured for years to the point he had lost his vampirism to a degree
Ambrosia had never been one to care for others.. the main reason was her brothers kidnapping but hearing what had happened to him after? it was like her heart was a stick and someone just snapped it.
so much so in fact she practically wanted to burn this entire academy down by now.
but she couldn't do it.. at least not yet, her sweat.. pitiful brother. how could she make him witness something so horrible like that?
she had already lost her brother once.. while he was the reason she lost her faith in everything else but he's also back now.
once you lose something once you never want to lose it again, to the point of madness.
thinking back to how she had treated him since he had gotten here.. no, what had happened to him on the first day during that physical training class.. it sickened her to the core
her thoughts was a mix of self loathing, hatred for the ones who had harmed him and worry.. overwhelming worry.
before either can say anything Ambrosia crashes into her "brothers" arms, bawling her eyes out. muttering I'm sorry..! I'm so so sorry! over and over again like a broken record.
and Cain..? he feels guilt.. large amounts of it, he had never actually enjoyed what he's done but its not like he can take it back, what's done is done and nothing he does will change that
so putting on an innocent, sorry face he comforts Ambrosia till the late night. and further.. and further.. until its time for class, why? because the princess of the vampire race went ahead and developed separation anxiety.. severe separation anxiety.
she's practically terrified of losing him again, as if he will disappear the second she looks away.
which came as a shock to.. well everyone. when she wouldn't let go of him..
at least before they left the room he had gotten her to limit herself to just handholding (work in progress) but she seems to forget that rule whenever anyone attempted to talk to him..
especially humans, and of them the women.. like camelia who always likes to get close to Cain, and nearly had a dagger of blood driven through her chest by Ambrosia..
and while her hatred mostly extended to humans.. when it came to her newly beloved brother it didn't matter who they were just the fact there was the possibility they could take her brother..
'oh dear lord what have i done..!'

"no he's mine! I'm his girlfriend what cant you understand..! urrrrrgh!"
nearly pulling her hair out Olivia bickers with the unyielding Ambrosia for the hundredth time.
eventually she gives up and turns her attention to Cain. her "boyfriend"
"so why is she like this?"
"oh uhh.. so I'm half vampire.. surprise..? and apparently I'm her long lost brother. Tada! so now she's developed a brother complex and wont let me go"
getting a glare from Ambrosia he sweats a little.. feeling her long nails nearly digging into his skin
"you're what!?"
naturally within a week this made headlines.. big ones.. Cain had already been famous as the commoner who became the elven princesses boyfriend, but now? this isn't just a love scandal no this is huge.
as the now prince of the vampire race him being in a relationship with Olivia basically make it so that the two races have had an alliance, which means two incredibly powerful forces may end up being united in the near future..
not only that this basically makes Cain the legitimate hair to the vampire race, since he was born a few seconds before Ambrosia, albeit arguable.
now similar to Olivia's parents he had yet to meet his "parents", one of them being that academy students weren't allowed out unless its a holiday or special occasion which wouldn't be for at least another month, meaning now to the world he is someone akin to a mystery, not many news and too many question marks.
one of the biggest reasons people are just that wary of him however int just his status.. sure, his status and connections pose a significant threat but that means nothing without power but..
he had been the ranked one student in the practical exam. beating not only the other class but also his own, even his sister.
which is significant grounds to say he may be at least similar in power to her and an even more legitimate heir to the vampire throne.. what the truth is..? only time will tell.

sup yalls.. been a sec huh? well i already explained why i make chapters so far and between but li say it again. i write as a hobby. and if i don feel like writing i wont rlly write, id rather spend my holiday with family than writing on my computer at 3 in the morning, or when i have a test the next day. no obviously i try to write often but when you get to the mindset of eh il do it tomorrow and you say those words over and over and over again you kinda dont notice just how long you've been procrastinating for so sorry..?
