Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

The ground shook beneath their feet.

A huge number of warriors from the combined forces burst forth from the western gates of the city of Wujiang.

They swept through the city like a hurricane, destroying everything in their path and killing everyone in sight.

The inhabitants fled in panic, and the warriors rose to their defense, intending to hold back the enemy.

However, their numerical superiority overwhelmed any attempts to fight back.

Like bandits, they killed everyone indiscriminately.

— Kyaa ... His eyes were filled with a profound indifference to everything, as if he didn't care what was happening around him.

Was someone begging him for help? He was simply passing by. Someone was killed right in front of him? The main thing was to keep his clothes clean. A woman brutally slaughtered in front of her child? He simply watched it all, as if it were a normal predator hunting a herbivore.

It was Bai Yunsheng.

He walked leisurely toward his wife's residence, dodging everyone running toward him and away from him.

One of the attackers loudly tried to attack him with loud cries, but before his sword could reach Bai Yunsheng, the attacker was immediately counterattacked.

Although, could you really call that a counterattack?

Even as his weapon was flying toward Bai Yunsheng, he, without bothering to look, grabbed the enemy's head and slammed it into the ground.

Unable to react, the enemy remained standing on the ground. His back arched like a bridge, and his head sank into the ground, leaving not even a crater.

At that very moment, the enemy felt something crawling across his face, and as it turned out, Bai Yunsheng had rammed his head into an anthill.

What happened next was obvious.

Hundreds, maybe thousands, of ants were crawling over the intruder's body. They crawled into his nose, mouth, ears, and even eyes, biting, scratching, and literally eating him alive.

The poor guy couldn't even scream because his mouth was full of dirt, and meanwhile, the ants surfaced and began crawling all over his body.

One of the attackers remained buried headfirst in the ground while he was slowly and painfully devoured by a thousand ants, dying a minute later from lack of air—though even that minute was filled with agony.

His comrades, or so-called allies, didn't notice his death, preoccupied with "hunting" the civilians of Wujiang.

Bai Yunsheng, expressionless, continued on his way home, wasting no time in rescuing the residents.

It so happened that Lei Jiangxue's residence was located in the direction from which the invaders were approaching, and unwilling to change his route, Bai Yunsheng decided to charge head-on.

Dozens of invaders rushed toward him like locusts, but Bai Yunsheng's face didn't move a muscle as he calmly passed through them, thinning the enemy ranks.

Dodge. Step back. Punch to the jaw, and one of them knocked him out, blocking his comrades.

Filling his fist with a small amount of qi, Bai Yunsheng struck them, knocking back seven at once, creating a shockwave.

Step to the right. Punch to the jaw. The enemy doubled over in pain. A punch of qi-charged energy to the enemy's stomach turned his insides to mush.

Grabbing one by the head, Bai Yunsheng dodged the attacks of two others and rammed the first's head into the second's chest, instantly crushing his heart. He did the same to the third with the second's head.

He used the two young men as human shields, blocking their attacks and throwing their corpses back to his comrades.

In this way, he drastically thinned their ranks, smashing through them like a battering ram.

With all the enemies in his path, he inadvertently saved civilians. And although his methods were brutal, the main thing was that they worked.

With such thoughts, the people who witnessed his "desperate self-sacrifice" assumed he was trying to save them and mistook him for a hero.

"Hmm... Maybe when all this is over, I should go on a journey? My screen time is up anyway. So my further actions won't affect the plot!" — but Bai Yunsheng himself was preoccupied with his own thoughts...

Meanwhile, most of the invaders were running around Wujiang, doing whatever they pleased.

Civilians and those who didn't know how to fight fled in panic.

Lei Jiangxue, riding a white tiger, fought back against the enemy. Her warriors fought alongside her.

"Ensure the safety of the civilians first! Don't let those bastards do whatever they want!" she commanded, repelling the enemy attack.

Alongside her were Zhou Yulong, Li Yuhua, Na Lixin, and some of the tournament participants, fighting the enemy.

Zhou Yulong, using lotus sword techniques, and Fan Zheng, using a silk sword, repelled the enemy attacks and counterattacked.

Yao Ren drew various animals that aided in battle.

Li-Na struggled to fight off her opponents while simultaneously protecting Zhang Yong.

The other participants fought on the other side.

When Lei Jiangxue parried another attack, a man in a demon mask appeared next to her, dressed in white pants and a black shirt with a white belt.

He helped his mistress.

"Sorry I'm late, mistress!"

"Everything is fine. Better tell me what's going on!" Lei Jiangxue ordered in an irritated voice.

"Yan Pantu has allied himself with the small sects in our region and staged a coup! Just a small part of them has attacked us, and the main force is already on its way here!" he replied in a presumptuous voice.

"Did he really know all this in advance?..." Lei Jiangxue thought to herself, remembering her husband's offer and snorting, she said loudly:

"Protect the civilians with your squad and help the soldiers!"

"Aye!" the man in the demon mask shouted and disappeared.

The shadow beneath the tiger's feet vibrated, and 20 people wearing demon masks emerged from it. Unlike the previous group, theirs were dark blue.

This group also began to assist the warriors in fending off the enemies and protecting the civilians.

"Damn Yan Pantu, the fucking bastard!" Lei Jiangxue thought angrily and sped up.

Bai Yunsheng, who had been thinning the enemy lines all this time, trying to get home, had already managed to "clear" several districts, including some brothels.

Passing by one of these brothels, he could sense the qi energy in the air.

"It seems Wen Qingge also took part in this battle. That's not surprising. I doubt anyone would appreciate seeing some bastards barge into a place you created and nurtured for years and start wrecking everything, attacking the girls you personally raised!" — Bai Yunsheng thought for a moment and continued on his way.

After a while, he reached Lei Jiangxue's residence, where a huge crowd had gathered.

The residence's seven guards struggled to defend the servants. Little Xiao Ran also didn't stand aside, trying to protect them.

The fox girl had already taken a lot of damage and was barely able to stand, her aura slowly beginning to dissipate.

"Die, demonic spawn!" one of the minor sect representatives shouted, attacking Xiao Ran.

The little girl couldn't defend herself from this attack and squeezed her eyes shut.

"Oh, what a pain!"

Xiao Ran, unaware of her wound, slowly opened her eyes and saw a tall man with long hair block the blow.

"Master!" the girl immediately perked up, recognizing who stood before her.

Bai Yunsheng hugged the fox and stroked her head. Although his face was as indifferent as usual, there was a hint of tenderness in his voice.

"It's okay, I'm here..." These words were enough for the demon fox child to feel safe and bury her face in his stomach, hugging him tightly.

"Master Bai!" the guards shouted, approaching him and standing before him, facing the attackers.

Bai Yunsheng calmly handed Xiao Ran over to one of the servants and stood before the guards.

"It's okay, I'll handle the rest!"

Taking a deep breath, Bai Yunsheng felt the hot Dao energy coursing through his bloodstream.

His face flushed slightly, his veins bulged, and his breath steamed.

Raising his hands, Bai Yunsheng assumed a fighting stance and focused on his opponents.

"Twenty people. Two techniques will be enough!" Bai Yunsheng thought to himself, and his fists suddenly erupted in flames.

Everyone froze, amazed at what they saw, and Bai Yunsheng lunged.

With one blow, he pierced the chest of one of the attackers, and when he infused a little more Yang energy, the enemy was instantly engulfed in flames.

The others jumped back from the sight and raised their weapons.

"You bastard, what have you done?!" one of them shouted, seeing their comrade scream in agony and literally burning alive. Bai Yunsheng said nothing.

"So this is what this technique can do! The dual cultivation technique 'Unification of Two Hearts,' which involves the transfer of Yin and Yang energy between a man and a woman."

"Yin energy allows a woman to use ice-elemental techniques, while Yin energy allows her to use fire."

"There were several fire-based techniques in the cultivator's diary, but most of them were for close combat and only two for ranged combat."

With one lunge, Bai Yunsheng found himself in the center of the enemy and spun around himself.

A fiery hurricane immediately erupted, sucking in the enemies who hadn't had time to react and burning them alive.

Those who managed to react stared at the hurricane in surprise, but failed to notice Bai Yunsheng burst out of the vortex with one lunge and attacked them.

It only took one blow for Bai Yunsheng to shatter one of them in the jaw, punch another in the chest, and send another flying into the opposite building.

The estate's servants and guards stared at him with their mouths agape, while Xiao Ran stared at her master with amazement and stars in her eyes.

Taking a deep breath, Bai Yunsheng exhaled, turned off his equipment, and dusted off his clothes.

"Well, shall we go help Lei Jiangxue?" he asked calmly, and little Xiao Ran ran up to him with a wide smile.

Bai Yunsheng picked her up and carried her toward the western gate, under the surprised gazes of the servants and guards.

A few seconds later, the guards came to their senses they took the servants to safety while Yan Pantu's rebellion continued...

To be continued...
