Chapter 3 - Chapter Three

*Oasis System Bonding*.

Seeing those words floating across his field of view, Jace put his hands up as he attempted to swipe the words away, but his hands didn't even meet any resistance like there was nothing there.

*Bonding Complete...

Initializing...*

The voice spoke out again as Jace watched word after word pop into his field of view.

*Welcome to the Oasis System, host.

You have been selected by a Supreme Being to inherit his Life's work.

You have been granted this system after your will to get stronger was seen*.

The words were on the semi transparent screen, and he could also hear the words being spoken to him too.

Who was this Supreme being though?, were they the reason he transmigrated?. Was his every move being watched?. For a split second, Jace felt bitter; if the Supreme being had been watching him since he was on Earth, why couldn't they somehow stop the accident?. It was only for a split second though as he had no idea what the Supreme Being was or if it could even influence things physically.

"Why me though?", Jace muttered as he wondered if the system could hear him.

*You were chosen because you have the Spiritual Constitution to bear the Spiritual Energy of the System. Your willpower is also a plus. The Oasis System grants you the ability to cultivate different Elemental Attributes, and the ability to rank up quicker than others. There are worlds out there, Host; conquer them.*

Hearing the System, Jace raised a brow; the system wanted him to conquer worlds?, what was in it for the system?.

As if the system could hear his thoughts, it spoke up again.

*Host does not have the access to further information*.

Deciding that it was probably wise to not fully trust the System, Jace decided to go along with it for now, according to what it has said, it would definitely make him stronger, and even if he had to face the Supreme Being at the end of the day, he hoped he was strong enough to come out on top.

For now though, Jace thought as he clenched his fists; it was time to get strong.

"Are you sure you are now okay?", Jace's mother asked as she watched her son gobble up his food in a hurry. He had come out of his room looking very energized and he said he was going to the Testing Center to check what Elemental Attribute he could awaken. She was worried though, herself and his father didn't have the Spiritual energy, and although it was not really hereditary, youths whose parents had magical talents have a higher chance of becoming Awakeneds than those with Mortal parents. But Jace seemed to be sure he had the talent, he was just excited to see what Elemental attribute he would awaken. A foreboding thought came to her mind, as she looked at her son that was looking more and more unfamiliar at the second, as her throat became tight.

Unaware of what was going through his mother's mind at the moment, Jace finished his food as he marvelled at the wildly different cuisine options in this world. He had just finished eating something that was akin to bacon and eggs, but it was different and he'll be honest; it tasted even better.

Standing up, he looked at his mother and gave her a loving smile; although he was not the real Jace anymore, he could feel how much Jace loved his family, and he would try his best to give them the life he could not give his real family, and the life the real Jace wanted for them.

Seeing the smile on Jace's face, Esmeralda felt a little relief as she could not detect any malicious intent from the youth in front of her. She was sure that wasn't her son; she had heard tales of powerful Awakeneds dying and taking over the bodies of vibrant youths. She didn't know who took over her son's body, but she couldn't feel any malicious intent from whoever was in front of her now; in fact, her motherly instincts was telling her the youth in front of her was broken and needed help.

She couldn't help the tears though; what then happened to her son?.

Seeing the tears in his mother's eyes, Jace's excitement fizzled out as he hurried to her side; he felt hurt seeing the tears in her eyes.

"Mom, why are you crying?", Sephora asked as she wondered what was making people cry today. Her brother had suddenly started crying earlier, and now her mom was crying too. Looking around in a panic, she wondered if she was next.

"You've grown", Esmeralda said as she rubbed Jace's cheek. Staring into the eyes in front of her, she knew that wasn't her son anymore.

"Oh, don't cry Mom, I'm going to awaken a good element and I'll become a very powerful Awakened. I'll take you guys to a better place." Jace promised as he wiped the tears off his Mother's face.

"You guys are being weird today", Sephora commented, but the slight smile on her face betrayed her indifferent voice.

"Go now", Esmeralda said as she patted the tears off her face, she was sure the youth in front of her wasn't a powerful Awakened, he was probably someone the universe was playing a cruel joke on. She hoped her real son was okay wherever he was now, and she would try her best to protect the youth in front of her now; although something was telling her he didn't need protection.

"Bye", Jace said as he stepped out the door...it was time to start a new adventure and for the first time in a long while; he was excited about starting something.
