Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: The wings that burned

Mythus — Chapter 1: The Wings that Burned

---

[Opening Scene — Fortress of the Harbingers]

(A colossal fortress pierces the clouds, carved into a mountain of obsidian and gold. Its walls pulse with divine glyphs that crackle with Supernatural Matter. Legions of monstrous beasts stand guard. Thousands of human warriors, cloaked in the glow of Earthly, Celestial, and Abyssal Matter, march across the blood-red plains. The air hums with battle hymns, war cries, and the crackling of unstable energy.)

Commander (human rebel):

"Forward! For freedom! For the fall of the gods!"

Crowd of Warriors:

"FOR EARTH! FOR HUMANITY!"

(The sky trembles. The Harbingers' fortress gates grind open, revealing titanic shadows. Thunder rolls as divine presences emerge. The Harbingers step forth, their mere aura making weaker humans vomit blood. Yet the rebels stand firm.)

---

Scene 1 — The Leaders Arrive

(At the front of the human army stand two radiant figures: Icarus, the God of the Sky, and Asteria, Goddess of Warfare and Protection — Knowledge's parents. Behind them, thousands of warriors grip weapons forged from Supernatural Matter, many designed by Daedalus himself. Icarus' wings — shimmering constructs of Celestial Matter — spread wide, illuminating the battlefield. Asteria stands in armor engraved with protective runes, her spear blazing like a miniature sun.)

Icarus (raising his voice):

"Brothers! Sisters! Today we defy eternity itself! These false gods who choke the Earth in chains—WE END THEM!"

Asteria (pointing her spear at the Harbingers):

"They fear our unity. They fear mortals rising. Let them learn why!"

Warriors (roaring):

"DOWN WITH THE HARBINGERS!"

(The ground shakes as the Harbingers advance. At the center of their line is Dominus Aeternum, leader of the Harbingers, draped in black and gold, wielding a spear crackling with lightning and chaos. His voice booms across the battlefield.)

Dominus Aeternum:

"Pitiful sparks, thinking yourselves flames. You dare stand against eternity? Very well. Today, mankind learns why gods rule, and mortals kneel."

(The Harbingers spread out behind him, each embodying raw terror: Mortem Tenebris cloaked in shadows of the underworld, Ignis Fatum burning like a second sun, Aqua Abyssum with tidal waves crashing around him, Bestia Primus snarling with a mane of blood-soaked fur, and the others fanning out, divine titans against fragile mortals.)

Scene 2 — The Rebellion Ignites

Icarus (to Asteria, quietly):

"This is it. No turning back."

Asteria (calm but fierce):

"If we fall, Knowledge will rise. That is enough."

(She grips his hand briefly before stepping forward. The two armies clash like worlds colliding. Humans unleash beams, blades, and storms of Supernatural Matter. The ground explodes, the sky tears apart. Harbingers cut through ranks effortlessly, yet mortals swarm them with sheer numbers and desperation.)

Human Warrior (charging at Bestia Primus):

"DIE, BEAST!"

Bestia Primus (snapping him in two with jaws):

"Pathetic meat. Next!"

(He swipes through ten men with a single claw, laughing. Nearby, Asteria slams her spear into the earth, creating a protective barrier that shields hundreds of soldiers from Ignis Fatum's firestorm. Her voice rises through the chaos.)

Asteria:

"Stand your ground! Together, they bleed!"

Ignis Fatum (sneering):

"Light belongs only to the divine. How dare a mortal-born goddess claim it?"

(He hurls a solar lance at her, but Icarus intercepts, wings blazing. He counters with a barrage of shining arrows, each whistling like thunder. Several strike Ignis Fatum, forcing him back.)

Icarus (smirking):

"Not so untouchable now, are you?"

---

Scene 3 — The Harbingers' Retaliation

(The battlefield tilts as Tempus Raptor stretches out her many-armed form, time itself warping around her. Rebel soldiers suddenly age into dust, while others freeze mid-scream, helpless. Praetorian guards of shadow spawn from Umbra Maledicta's illusions, cutting down humans in confusion.)

Tempus Raptor (mocking):

"Mortals burn so quickly. Blink, and they are gone."

Umbra Maledicta (grinning):

"And yet, they still hope. Hope is the cruelest curse."

(Asteria charges, cleaving through phantoms, rallying the survivors. Icarus soars high, unleashing a storm of arrows. For a moment, it looks like they might break through. Then, Dominus Aeternum raises his hand. Thunder and chaos converge into a spear of annihilation. He hurls it skyward, striking Icarus mid-flight. The wings of light begin to crack and burn.)

Icarus (shouting in agony):

"No… not yet—!"

Asteria (screaming):

"ICARUS!"

(He spirals downward, wings disintegrating in molten fragments. But with his last strength, he steadies himself, fires one final radiant arrow, and pierces Dominus Aeternum's shoulder, drawing ichor. The god snarls in rage.)

Dominus Aeternum (furious):

"You dare scar me, insect?!"

(He slams his spear into the ground. A wave of chaos matter obliterates hundreds of humans instantly. The rebellion falters, screams echoing. Still, Asteria refuses to yield. She lifts Icarus with one arm and faces the gods with the other.)

Asteria (roaring):

"You will NOT erase us! You will NOT erase our son's future!"

(She drives her spear into the earth, summoning a radiant barrier that shields the last surviving humans. Her eyes blaze with defiance as she challenges the Harbingers head-on.)

---

Scene 4 — The Death of Heroes

Mortem Tenebris (coldly):

"Enough sentiment."

(With a gesture, chains of deathly matter wrap around Asteria's body, binding her. She resists, muscles straining, but cannot break free. Icarus, half-conscious, claws at the ground, reaching for her.)

Icarus (hoarse, broken):

"Asteria… don't… give them… the satisfaction…"

Asteria (tears in her eyes, but unyielding):

"I'll never bow."

(Ignis Fatum descends, fire dripping from his hands. He ignites her chains. Flames consume her flesh as she screams, but even in agony she glares up at the gods, refusing to beg.)

Asteria (spitting blood, laughing through pain):

"You… will never kill… the dream."

Ignis Fatum (snarling):

"Then burn with it."

(Her body collapses into ash, leaving only scorched armor behind. Icarus howls in despair. With his last strength, he drags himself up, wings gone, but spirit blazing. He glares at the Harbingers.)

Icarus (voice breaking):

"You think this ends us? You think this ends ME? My son… will finish what we began. KNOWLEDGE… WILL END YOU!"

(Dominus Aeternum's eyes narrow. With one swift strike, his chaos spear pierces Icarus' chest. Icarus gasps, blood spraying, then falls. His body shatters as his essence burns away, wings scattering into sparks that fade into the storm.)

Dominus Aeternum (disgusted):

"Arrogant to the end."

(The battlefield is silent now. The rebellion lies in ruins. Corpses litter the ground, humans slaughtered by the thousands. The Harbingers stand unchallenged, their victory absolute. Bestia Primus licks his claws, Mortem Tenebris closes his eyes as if indifferent, and the others fade back into the fortress shadows.)

Scene 5 — Epilogue of Chapter 1

(A single surviving eagle circles above the carnage, screeching mournfully. It dives through the smoke and picks up a scorched fragment of Icarus' broken wing. In the distance, hidden from the gods' sight, a young boy watches the horizon — his eyes wide, his fists trembling. The eagle flies to him, dropping the fragment at his feet.)

Young Knowledge (whispering):

"…Father… Mother…"

(Tears stream down his face, but behind them burns a quiet, unstoppable fury. He picks up the fragment, gripping it so tightly it cuts his hand. Blood drips onto the scorched metal as the eagle lands beside him. His voice shakes, but his words are sharp as arrows.)

Young Knowledge:

"…I'll make them pay. I swear it. One day… the Harbingers will fall."
