I didn't even register the words.
I didn't have time.
I didn't think.
I didn't breathe.
I simply acted.
Ok, maybe I wasn't the one who saved my wonderful ass, but it's basically the same thing.
The black fire was right there, just a breath away from turning me into a roasted corpse. My skin prickled. I could feel the heat building, boiling my blood even though it hadn't touched me yet. It was a searing wave of agony ready to engulf me, and yet, I wasn't afraid. I had better things to think about, like why the hell I hadn't teleported yet.
Then, in the blink of an eye, I felt a shift.
The space mana wrapped around me like a tightening coil, and before I knew it, I was no longer standing in front of the giant wolf. Instead, I was high in the air, aiming directly at the beast. The floor below me was a distant memory, and I had one goal now: take that wolf down.
