Sho sat in his room, staring at the gacha machine. Ten tickets ready to cash rewards.
"Well… let's see what kind of trash I'll pull today," he muttered, already bracing himself for disappointment.
The only thing even remotely worth pulling was that so-called X-Syringe.
With a small yank, the handle clicked.
The machine whirred to life, the screen flooding with light. One after another, golden spheres shot out ten in total.
> Congratulations, host! You have received:
– x4 Mana Potions (Rare)
– x2 Healing Potions (Rare)
– Neighbor's Aunt's Pink-Colored see through Panty (Rare)
– Kaiō-ken Technique (Epic)
Description: Temporarily boosts the user's power x2, x3, x4… and beyond.
Drawback: Anything past x2 puts severe strain on the user body. Use with caution.
– Dimension Key (Legendary S+)
Use: Opens a door to another world. One round trip only.
– x1 Stamina Potion (Rare)
Sho blinked. Once. Twice. Then rubbed his eyes just to make sure he wasn't seeing things.
"Wait… what?"
Not only had he pulled an Epic, but also a Legendary S+. The Kaiō-ken—straight out of Dragon Ball Z—and a Dimension Key. For someone who was expecting garbage, this was like hitting the jackpot.
The Kaiō-ken technique uploaded directly into his mind, the knowledge settling into brain like it had always been there. Still, he resisted the urge to test it after all, using such a technique in his room could lead to who knows what kind of mess.
With a quick flick, he sent all the rewards into his inventory, leaving only the Dimension Key resting in his palm
Sho held the Dimension Key in his hand, turning it over with a spark of excitement in his eyes.
"System, can this thing take me to the Dragon Ball Z world?" he asked, barely hiding the grin on his face.
> Dimension Key can take you to any world. It is not fixed.
However, host is strongly advised to use it with extreme caution. Imagine opening a door to a realm ruled by higher beings… and getting erased instantly. If host dies, I will simply say farewell.
Sho's lips twitched. 'This bastard's been obsessed with saying farewell ever since the first day I met him'.
"By the way," he continued, frowning at the Key's description, "it says one round trip only. Does that mean I can't use it again after that?"
> Yes.
Sho groaned. "Seriously? A Legendary—no, an S+ Legendary and it's only good for one use? That's kind of unfair."
> Host seems to have forgotten about the penalties placed on your first twenty Legendary rewards.
The Dimension Key was most likely meant to be a more than one time use item, but because of the penalty, it's been restricted to one-time use.
"…Wait. What?" Sho's eyes widened. "Hold on, then what about the X-Syringe? Don't tell me that thing also—"
> Yes.
Sho's heart sank. "…What kind of penalties does it have?"
> I don't know. When you use it, you'll find out.
He slapped a hand over his face. "Shit… I completely forgot about those penalties. I've only pulled two Legendary items so far, which means…" He let out a long sigh. "There are still eighteen more waiting to screw me over."
Sho stretched out on his bed, eyes fixed on the ceiling as thoughts of the future pressed down on him. What was he supposed to do if the gacha kept spitting out nothing but average rewards? He already knew the battles lined up ahead—terrorist groups like the Khaos Brigade, the clash against the Evil Dragons, and eventually… Trihexa itself.
Bits and pieces of spoilers floated in his memory, fragments from the parts of the story he hadn't fully read. One detail stood out sharper than the rest: Great Red, the so-called Dragon of Dragons, brought down by some outer gods.
A shiver crawled down his spine.
"Man… at this rate I'll be a corpse before I even get a chance to shine unless some miracle power-up drops in my lap." He let out a long breath, a crooked half-smile tugging at his lips. "Meanwhile, that Issei guy? Climbed straight to the top in barely a year or two. Pervert or not, the bastard had plot armor and stupidly good luck. …So when's my turn, huh? When do I get to roll a jackpot instead of trash?"
The thought tasted bitter. Closing his eyes, Sho tried to push it away, but the image stuck—himself, crushed beneath the claws of an Evil Dragon, or obliterated in Trihexa's chaos.
And the worst part? He couldn't just sit on the sidelines and avoid it all. If even a stray fire blast found its way into Kuoh Town, the place would be reduced to ash in seconds taking him out along with it.
"Shooo!..Sho, what are you doing?"
Sho's eyes snapped open at the sound of his name being called. His mom's voice carried up from downstairs.
"Coming!" he shouted back.
He rolled out of bed and made his way down, only to find himself handed a new task.
"Your dad forgot this patient file. Take it to the clinic for him, alright?"
The familiar chime of the system echoed in his head.
> Mission Assigned
Deliver the patient file to your father within 15 minutes.
Reward: 5 Gacha Tickets
"Fifteen minutes? The clinic's at least ten kilometers away…" Sho muttered under his breath.
Before his mom could say anything more, Ayaka stepped out from the living room holding the file. Sho took file like snatching it from her hands in one swift motion and bolted for the door.
"Sho—don't run! It's not that urgent!" Ayaka called after him, but he was already gone.
The moment he hit the street, Sho slipped on his electric boots. Sparks crackled around the soles as he took off, accelerating to nearly twenty-five kilometers per hour. He cut through narrow alleys, weaving past dustbin lines and stray cats, avoiding the crowded main roads where the boots would draw too much attention.
"Mountain road should be fine. Hardly anyone goes that way," he thought, narrowing his eyes.
The boots surged with power, energy snapping at the ground with every step. Sho leaned forward, arms stretched out behind him in a perfect Naruto run, the sparks trailing like a comet's tail as he shot toward the mountainside.
It took Sho nearly fourteen minutes to reach his father's clinic. He could've made it faster, but without using the electric boots in crowded areas, his speed had been cut down. Still, he made it on time.
After handing over the file, the familiar notification popped up in his vision:
> Mission Completed
Rewarded: 5 Gacha Tickets
Sho stepped out of the clinic, his eyes drifting toward the mountain path he had taken earlier. It was quiet, almost too quiet, with far fewer people than the main roads.
"I guess I can use the Dimension Key there," he muttered. Without wasting time, he started walking toward the mountain, boots crunching against the dirt path.
It didn't take long before he found the perfect spot—a secluded clearing, silent and empty, tucked between the trees. No pedestrians, no prying eyes. Just the sound of the wind brushing through leaves.
"Yeah… this should work." He pulled the Dimension Key from his inventory, the metallic shape cool against his palm. "Let's see where this thing takes me…"
But just as he was about to activate it—
Rustle. Crack.
The sound of branches snapping cut through the stillness.
Sho froze, his body tensing. Wait… I didn't see anyone nearby when I came through here.
The bushes shifted, and a figure emerged. A man—tall, towering at least six and a half feet. He wore a black shirt tucked into matching pants, heavy leather boots crunching against the dirt. A long black coat draped over his shoulders, and when the light hit his face, Sho's eyes narrowed
Scars. Deep, jagged, and far too many to count.
The moment Sho spotted the unknown man in front of him, he quietly slipped the Dimension Key back into his inventory. His instincts screamed that the guy wasn't normal.
The man's sharp eyes locked onto him, a strange grin tugging at his scarred face. "A human… with magical energy," he whispered slowly, tongue flicking across his lips.
Sho's stomach dropped at the sight. His face twisted in horror.
'…He's gay.'
That was the only thought that came to mind. Alone in the forest, cornered by some scarred creep giving him that look—yeah, too many bad scenarios flashed through his head at once.
The man started walking toward him.
"Wait right there!" Sho blurted, panic making his voice crack. He threw his hands over his chest like a shield. "I-I'm not into that crap, alright?! Lesbians are fine, but gay—hell no!"
The man stopped dead, blinking in confusion. "…What?" His grin faded, his head lowering, eyes closing like a sulking child.
Sho dropped his gaurd "Did… did that actually work?"
" Seems like he knows what consent is ....."
Then came the roar.
"You inferior creatureeee!"
A shockwave of wind blasted out from the man's body, forcing Sho to brace himself. His skin prickled as the stranger's body began to glow faintly, raw magical energy spilling into the air. From his back sprouted a pair of jet-black wings, and at the same time, the surrounding area shimmered—trapped inside a magical barrier.
"You dare insult me with such nonsense?" the man bellowed. "I was willing to grant you the honor of serving me after sensing the faint magical energy in your body. But now… you'll be nothing more than my snack!"
Sho's breath caught in his throat. His eyes went wide as recognition hit. "A devil…" he muttered, staring at the wings. They were exactly like the ones he'd seen countless times in anime.
But before he could process anything else, the devil vanished. A split second later—
CRACK!
A fist appeared inches from his face. Sho barely got his arms up in time to block, and the impact sent him flying like a ragdoll. He slammed into a tree, bark splintering, and collapsed to the ground with a grunt.
"Dammit… what the hell was that punch?" he groaned. His forearm screamed with pain, the bones clearly cracked from the blow.
"Shit!!"
His eyes darted up. The devil was already moving toward him again, dark wings spread, speed doubling. Sho scrambled to his feet, instincts screaming to keep his distance. He bolted in the opposite direction, boots sparking as he dashed away.
While running, he yanked a healing potion from his inventory, popped the cork, and downed it in one gulp. Warm energy surged through his body, the pain fading as the fractures in his arm knitted back together.
"…Better," he muttered, wiping his mouth, though his eyes never left the approaching devil.
Sho narrowed his eyes at the approaching devil, his lips curling into a thin line.
"This bastard is getting cocky…" he muttered under his breath.
And then suddenly, the familiar metallic voice of the system rang inside his head:
> Mission Assigned
Objective: Kill the Stray Devil.
Reward: 10 Gacha Tickets and Additional rewards.
Sho's chest rose and fell heavily as he read the glowing text. A sharp grin tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Mission, huh?… Heh, it came at the perfect time."
He skidded to a stop, boots grinding against the dirt as he turned sharply to face the charging devil. Dust flew up around his feet.
"You showed me your power… now it's my turn!" Sho growled, his voice resonating with determination. He clenched his fists, his muscles tightening, and then he roared with every ounce of his being:
"KAIŌ-KEN… X2!!"
In an instant, a fiery red aura exploded from his body and his hair flew upward defying gravity, red fiery energy crackling wildly as the ground beneath him trembled. A powerful gust of wind blasted outward, rustling the trees and scattering loose leaves.
The devil, who was only a few meters away, froze mid-charge. His eyes widened in shock, and for the first time his smug grin vanished. His instincts screamed danger. His entire body trembled, not from cold but from sheer primal fear. Every cell in his body was telling him to run.
'T-This pressure… Impossible! He's just a human! Why does he feel like… like a monster!?'
Yet his pride as a devil wouldn't allow him to back down. His jaw clenched, though his pupils shrank as he felt the crushing weight of Sho's aura.
At that moment, the system's voice chimed again:
> Congratulations, Host, for unlocking Ki.
Sho blinked, his aura still blazing, his mind barely catching up to the words.
"…Huh? Ki? Just like that?" he muttered in confusion.
The system clarified.
> The Kaio-ken technique forcibly unlocked your Ki pathways.
Sho's eyes widened slightly, but then a savage grin formed on his face as the red aura burned brighter around him. His fists clenched tighter, veins bulging with newfound power.
"Good… then let's test it out."
Sho launched himself forward like a missile, the air behind him erupting in a violent gust. The devil, seeing him approach, braced himself—ready to dodge, counter, and then crush this human into the ground. After all, he was a devil, superior in blood and power.
But that was just his stupid hypothesis.
BAMMM!
Sho's fist slammed straight into the devil's abdomen. The devil tried to parry, but his arms felt useless against Sho's body, which carried the weight and impact of an immovable mountain. His torso bent in half as the blow sent him flying backward, smashing through a tree—the very same way Sho had been greeted earlier.
--
Sho didn't stop there. With a maniacal smirk, he shot forward again. The devil barely managed to stand, only to see Sho's figure rushing at him like a predator. In that moment, he realized the truth—he fucked up.
Sho's punch came straight for his face. The devil managed to block, and for a second, a flicker of hope sparked in his eyes—maybe he could endure. But then Sho's lips curled into the most wicked grin, one so evil it made the devil's instincts scream. The force behind the punch doubled, ripping through his guard, his arms folding back as his head snapped sideways. His entire body was lifted off the ground, hurled by the sheer momentum of Sho's strike before being pummeled into the dirt.
--
Sho stepped back, not because he was done, but because he wanted the devil to rise again. He wanted to break him slowly.
The power surging through his veins made Sho feel invincible, drunk on adrenaline. His base strength was already far beyond that of an ordinary human, enhanced due to steroid pills that had pushed his body past natural limits. But now, with Kaiō-ken x2, that strength had doubled—his senses sharpened, his aura blazing like fire. He could feel his veins bulging, his body straining against the violent torrent of energy. Sho knew he couldn't push past x2 yet; his body simply wouldn't be able to endure it.
--
But right now, he didn't care. His focus was fixed on the punching bag in front of him—the devil—perfect for unleashing every ounce of that burning power.
The disoriented devil staggered to his feet, rubbing his head. For a moment, everything had gone blank for him.
"What the hell… what was I doing? And this blood—" he muttered, staring at his palm. Then realization hit. "This… this is my blood."
He couldn't recall how he'd been injured. His mind was foggy, the impact leaving him with short-term amnesia. But when his eyes shifted left, he spotted Sho standing there, watching him with an amused smirk. Memories returned in flashes, enough to make him instinctively step back.
The devil's body began to convulse, his clothes ripping apart as his form twisted and warped. In seconds, his human guise gave way to something monstrous—an ugly creature with four arms, his normal human hand turned to sharp claw.
Sho raised an eyebrow, his body tense and ready. "
So he's finally showing his true form… wait four arms? It reminds of ben 10".
The devil locked eyes with him. The tension was thick, each waiting for the other to make the first move. The stance he took suggested he would attack—yet in the next instant, he bolted away. Using all four arms like extra limbs, he ran on six legs, scrambling away like a terrified animal.
"That bastard," Sho growled, his aura flaring violently. "I have a mission to complete—where the hell does he think he's running?"
His red, fiery aura erupted, mixing with the sparks from his electric boots. Shoooosh! With a thunderous boom, he blasted forward, leaving a gust of wind in his wake.
The fleeing devil's thoughts raced." That human… he's not normal. Could it be a Sacred Gear?" Panic flooded him. "I need to get out of here!"
But the thunderous sound behind him made his heart drop. Risking a glance back, he saw Sho closing in fast.
"Fuck, fuck… I can't die to a human! I survived the devil police in the underworld, I escaped death itself and hide in this human town run by those pathetic noble brats. I tricked them, blended in—no one ever suspected me. And now? Now my own greed is going to kill me! I only wanted that human as a servant, since I sensed mana in him—something useful—then later, when I get bored of him I could've eaten him. But instead, I'm the one being hunted! Why the hell did I ever reveal myself!?"
The devil cursed his own stupidity.
Sho was already closing in. With Kaiō-ken burning through his body and the electric boots sparking under his feet, his speed was monstrous. Normally, the devil's agility was commendable—fast enough to slip away from most hunters. But not today.
He dashed toward the barrier he had set up earlier. The instant he passed through, the glowing wall shattered and collapsed into fragments of light.
The devil dared to glance back, panting. No sign of Sho. His chest heaved in relief.
"Did I… shake him off?" he muttered, a flicker of hope returning.
"Peek-a-boooo."
"Gah—ahhh!" the devil screamed, heart stopping as Sho suddenly appeared right by his side. Startled, he tripped, tumbling across the dirt before slamming into a tree with a heavy thud.
The reason the devil didn't see Sho was because Sho had sneakily slipped on the stealth cloak.
"Wait a minute, human… we can't use our powers out in the open, someone might notice us. The barrier I set up is already broken. We can't fight like this, so let's just skip it and go our own ways," the devil said, his heart pounding as he stared at Sho.
Sho acted as if he was thinking about it, but in reality, he couldn't let him go—those gacha tickets were on the line.
Seeing Sho pause, the devil's hope lifted.
"Okay, I've decided," Sho finally said. "Let's stop fighting… I don't feel like using you as a punching bag anymore."
The devil eyes twitched at the word punching bag, but let it slide. At least he could escape now. He sighed in relief.
Sho smirked faintly, a but lingering in his tone. "So… let me kill you silently instead. Just lift your face a little and I'll cut your neck cleanly. Believe me, you won't feel much pain—I can tell from experience. Now stand there." Sho pulled an iron sword, a common item, from his inventory.
"What!?..." The devil blinked in disbelief. "What kind of nonsense are you saying!? I don't care anymore—I'll kill you!"
The devil went into a full frenzy, swinging wildly with all four arms—fists pounding left and right, breaking trees, splintering wood, shaking the ground. But no matter how fast or furious his barrage, he still couldn't land a single hit on Sho.
Sho just kept stepping back, weaving, creating distance with casual ease.
"Bastard! Stop dodging! Be a man and take a punch!" the devil roared, spit flying from his fanged mouth.
But Sho only smirked.
Then, instead of dodging, Sho caught two of the devil's arms in his grip, holding them firm. The devil's eyes gleamed—his chance! He still had two free arms to crush this arrogant human. But before he could strike, Sho's foot shot upward with brutal precision.
CRACK!
A clean kick connected with the devil's chin, snapping his head back. The devil staggered, vision swimming—just in time for Sho to pull a dagger from his inventory. Its blade glistened faintly, coated in venom.
With one smooth slash, Sho carved a line across the devil's chest.
The devil stumbled back, clutching at the wound as blood leaked between his fingers. His breathing grew ragged, vision doubling, his body swaying.
"Wh-what's… going on…?" he gasped, his legs buckling under the poison's effect.
Sho's expression hardened. "It's time to end this arc."
With a single swift motion, he drew his iron sword and swung.
SHHHK!
The devil's head flew cleanly from his shoulders, his body collapsing with a heavy thud.
At once, the system chimed:
> Mission Completed

Releasing Kaiō-ken left Sho drained, his body burning hot, steam rising faintly off his skin—smoke even curling from the corners of his mouth. His veins throbbed painfully, not unbearable, but enough to remind him of the strain he'd just forced on himself.
Without wasting time, he yanked out a healing potion and a stamina potion, downing both in quick gulps.
"Ahh… these potions are amazing," he muttered, wiping his lips, already feeling his strength return as a refreshing coolness spread through him.
Next, he picked up the Barrier Magic Book. The moment it touched his forehead, knowledge surged into his mind like a flood—runes, incantations, and techniques embedding themselves into his memory. "So this is barrier magic, huh…" he whispered.
Then, he put on the Glasses. Immediately, he felt the subtle suppression of his aura and magical energy. "Yeah… this'll help. I'm not good at hiding my magical energy. If that stray devil could sense me, others definitely can too."
Sho glanced at the Dimensional Key tucked away in his inventory. His fingers itched to use it, to test where it would lead—but reason pulled him back.
"…No. I'll try it tomorrow. Right now, priority is leaving this place." His eyes narrowed, scanning the quiet mountain path. No matter what that devil had said, he was right about one thing: Kouh was under devil control And the last thing Sho wanted was for them to discover him currently.
Better to slip away now, quietly.
Sho put the glasses back into his inventory due to vision problems. He wasn't used to wearing anything over his eyes; it felt like something was blocking his sight. "I'll need to get used to this," he muttered, rubbing his eyes before walking down the mountain.
Some time later—
Sho crouched in the backyard, eyeing the window like a thief. His clothes were torn in several places, and if his mother saw him like this, her first thought would definitely be that he'd gotten into a fight.
Quietly, he slid the window open, ready to sneak inside.
"Well, well… look what we have here. A thief breaking into his own house."
The curtain slid back, and there stood his little sister, Mio, grinning like a devil.
"Looks like big brother got into a fight. This is excellent news—shall I go deliver it straight to Mother?"
"Wait—no! I didn't fight anyone," Sho hissed. "A dog chased me, I tripped into some bushes, and that's why my clothes are like this. Now move aside before Mom sees."
Mio's eyes narrowed with mock suspicion. "Hmm… are you getting bullied again? Even after building all those muscles? Just tell me who it is—I'll kick his crotch so hard he'll never dare show his face again."
"Nobody bullied me! Just move already!"
"Or maybe…" she tapped her chin dramatically. "You've started bullying others? Yes, yes… this great news shall be delivered to Mother! Kekeke!"
Sho groaned. This brat… this little devil of a sister.
Truth was, Mio wasn't heartless. She cared in her own way—when Sho used to get bullied, she was the one who beat up the offenders. But she never missed a chance to squeeze him dry, especially when it came to pocket money.
"How much this time?" Sho muttered.
"Half your allowance," Mio said with a smirk.
"…Fine."
She paused, eyeing him like a cat toying with a mouse. "…Actually, now that I think about it, why not give me all of it? Since you've lost weight, you won't need much food anyway."
"…" Sho's eye twitched.
This damn brat…
"…Okay, fine. Just move already."
" You're welcome "
