Kayson casually responded a few more times, and then the group walked deeper into the tent area. They had agreed earlier that Sirius, the Weasley, and the Longbottom would be next to each other, making it more convenient for the children to play.
Kayson also agreed with this; after all, the parents of these two families were basically members of the Order of the Phoenix in their youth. After the Longbottoms were discharged from the hospital last year and recovered for a few days, the Ministry of Magic's Auror Office sent them the documents. However, they felt they had missed Neville's childhood, so they chose not to return to the Auror team but instead stayed home to grow flowers and vegetables while waiting for Neville.
However, despite this, their combat effectiveness remained formidable.
Soon, the group found the other two families. Kayson watched Sirius busily setting up the tent... Although he didn't know why a magic tent would be so much work, he wasn't curious and instead placed a lounge chair on the grass and began to close his eyes and rest.
He would replenish his energy during the day and give those troublesome Death Eaters a little shock at night.
After a while, he smelled a faint aroma. He opened his eyes, looked around, and quickly pinpointed the people by the bonfire who were roasting sausages: "Hey, is there some for me?"
"On the wooden table over there, Professor," Mrs. Weasley said, looking up.
"Oh, just call me Kayson." Kayson smiled and walked towards the wooden table, picked up a fork from the table, speared a sausage, and began to eat.
Meanwhile, Percy, seeing Kayson approach, quickly ran far away as if avoiding a plague.
Although, in fact, it couldn't be considered running; he merely moved quickly on two legs, afraid that a running posture would draw attention. After all, he had observed high-ranking officials up close, and they all kept their emotions hidden, never panicking even when something major happened, much less running.
Kayson, on the other hand, paid no attention to Percy's small movements. After finishing the sausage in a few bites, he began to look for anything else he could throw into his stomach.
"Kayson, there's a chance to make a fortune, are you in?" Sirius walked over from not far away, with someone following him.
"Not interested, unless you're paying in pounds." Kayson shrugged, not even glancing at the person behind Sirius, simply refusing.
"Right, you're not short on Galleons either." Sirius then realized and led the person behind him towards the bonfire. It was then that Mr. Weasley saw the person behind Sirius. He quickly stood up and patted his slightly dusty hands: "Oh, Mr. Ludo Bagman, thank you so much for the tickets!"
At this point, Sirius put his arm around Ludo Bagman's shoulder and nodded: "Right? Without you, I'd have money with nowhere to spend it."
It was then that Kayson stopped his frantic attack on the sausages and looked towards Ludo Bagman. After all, he heard from Sirius that this person had helped them get the tickets to the game, so it was only right to greet him.
Just as he was about to put down the sausage in his hand, another figure, like the Flash, had already dashed over. It was Percy. He quickly put down his sausage and fork, rubbed his hands haphazardly on his clothes, and then smoothed his hair, preparing to present himself in the most perfect posture to the Ministry of Magic management.
Although he had no significant connection to the department this manager oversaw, if he could just help him put in a good word with Fudge...
Then Percy saw Ludo Bagman smile at him, then extend both hands, bend slightly, and quickly walk towards him.
Percy wondered, why would the Minister for Magic's assistant have such influence? And also, should he shake hands with both hands, or should he maintain a dignified posture? At that moment, Ludo Bagman had already bypassed Percy and directly grasped Kayson's uncleaned hand.
"Professor Kayson, I've heard so much about you!"
Percy awkwardly straightened his recently bent back, looked at his two hands that had instinctively extended, and then quickly pulled them back as if nothing had happened.
"Uh... you could have waited until I wiped my hands." Although Kayson was puzzled as to why such a seemingly important official would be interested in an unknown Professor like him, he still politely responded out of habit.
"Oh, there's no need for that. I actually don't like people who are too formal; it's hard to get close to them," Ludo Bagman said, waving his hand.
"Oh... alright, Mr. Bagman." Kayson still politely nodded, then withdrew his hand: "Is there something I can help you with?"
"Uh... no, why would there be?" Ludo Bagman quickly chuckled awkwardly. After all, he came today to make a fortune by setting up a betting pool, and the prerequisite for setting up a betting pool was that he absolutely could not show any weakness.
Otherwise, if people saw that the bookmaker was a poor person, who would dare to place a bet?
But Kayson didn't care about these things, or rather, he didn't want to care.
Just as Kayson and Ludo Bagman were staring at each other, unsure what to say, Sirius had already started talking about Ludo Bagman's betting pool plan from behind, and that was the opportunity to make a fortune he had just mentioned.
Ludo Bagman then regained the social composure an official should have. However, he also thought that the Professor in front of him could, without a word, rush into Fudge's office and cut off his arm. So, if he really scammed Kayson in this betting pool, would he cut off his head?
Just as Ludo Bagman was trying to figure out how to politely and gracefully refuse Kayson's bet, the first bet here was placed before him.
"Two Galleons." Two shiny Galleons lay in Ron's palm. These were from the pocket money Sirius had given him earlier, an amount within a reasonable range that wouldn't make him feel bad.
Ludo Bagman looked at the two Galleons and, with the mindset that even a small mosquito has meat, naturally accepted the Galleons: "Which team are you betting on?"
"Bulgaria."
Meanwhile, Kayson, standing behind Ludo Bagman, was contemplating whether to punish Ron on this happy day. However, seeing that Mr. Weasley didn't say anything, he decided not to think about it further. After all, parents were more qualified to discipline their children than he, a Professor, was.
However, he quickly changed his mind because the Weasley Twins were coming over with the Galleons they had earned from selling Alchemy products over the years and from embezzling Alchemy materials he had issued.
If Ron's was an unhealthy gambling entertainment, then the Twins' behavior was already a high-stakes gamble that could lead to ruin.
