The so-called [Lord Taishan] should refer to a special ritual in China's native nature mythology.
Lord of Mount Tai, the Great Emperor of Dongyue, holds an extremely high position in Taoist mythology.
[Lord Taishan]'s original meaning is to sincerely pray to the Great Emperor of Dongyue, exchanging one's own life for the return of the deceased's life.
In the era when Hell had not yet appeared in faith, the Yellow Springs were also governed by the Great Emperor of Dongyue Tai Shan.
And this culture of Onmyodo techniques and even Taoism was introduced to Japan along with the influence of the ancient empire on Japan.
In Japan's Onmyodo, the name [Lord Taishan] also appeared.
But Bai Cangshu also knew that in this infinite world of Reincarnators, which is mostly anime worlds, [Lord Taishan] was likely not the same as in the Eastern mythology.
There is an anime called [Tokyo Ravens] that also involves such a ritual in its core story.
Bai Cangshu hadn't originally watched such niche and less popular works, but recently, spending a long time training with Xiao Ning was too monotonous, so he started watching some less popular anime works, and unexpectedly encountered this now.
"How do you know I came to ask about this matter?"
Bai Cangshu did not deny it; instead, he followed the Shinto Priest's words and continued the conversation, vaguely realizing where the problem lay.
Did the other party call him a God's Messenger because he had established great prestige in the Demon Slayer World, or because of the Inari God's curse on him?
The Old God Master felt the clear aura of the Inari God on the other party. Without a doubt, this was a true God's Messenger, closer to the [Inari God] than the one who had arrived before.
"In fact, half a year ago, a God's Messenger came and inquired about the ritual of [Lord Taishan]."
"That is a secret transmission of the Tsuchimikado Clan. They once performed it after the war that swept the world, but it caused huge damage to their family and even Japan, to the extent that it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say it shook the nation's Destiny."
"I could only introduce the God's Messenger to the Tsuchimikado family. Later, that incident happened..."
The Old God Master lowered his head. He felt as if [Lord Taishan] was some kind of curse.
But he still hoped in his heart that the God's Messenger had come to fix everything.
This kind of thing is not something the current sorcery world can solve.
Or rather, in his opinion, since the end of the Heian Era, that era of full flourishing mystery, it is absolutely impossible for human sorcerers to solve this matter without the aid of God's Power.
Bai Cangshu obtained some important information and had a clearer grasp of the current state of this world.
The Tsuchimikado Clan is a descendant of the famous great Onmyoji [Abe no Seimei] from the Heian Era, and the story of [Tokyo Ravens] indeed mentions that the head of the Tsuchimikado Clan, the great Onmyoji [Tsuchimikado Yakou], once launched [Lord Taishan] after that sinful war of aggression ended.
But the result was a terrible spiritual disaster erupting in Tokyo.
Although in the story of [Tokyo Ravens], Yakou's purpose in activating Lord Taishan was to reincarnate into a descendant within the clan, it cannot be guaranteed what he intended to do with that Lord Taishan in the current world.
The many worlds in the Reincarnation Space seem to be connected in terms of worldview to some extent, but because there are various branch worldlines, you cannot guarantee exactly where those other worldlines are heading in these worlds.
"One last question, Shinto Priest, what were the characteristics of the previous God's Messenger you mentioned?"
The Old God Master looked up and glanced at Bai Cangshu. It seemed it was only because of Bai Cangshu's question that he noticed he should examine the God's Messenger's appearance, and not just the radiance.
"I didn't look closely, but that adult wore a white cloak and emitted a special scent."
What Bai Cangshu actually wanted to know was not the appearance of the Reincarnators. The appearance of Reincarnators in the eyes of story characters would be completely different from what other Reincarnators saw because there was no avatar influence.
Appearance had no meaning, but certain characteristics of temperament and habits were quite useful.
"A special scent, what kind of scent specifically?"
The Old God Master thought for a moment, then turned his head to look at the forest below the mountain and said,
"It was as if wherever he went, sunlight would fall on him, and even in hot weather, he would feel a cool breeze. That special scent would unconsciously attract others' attention."
"In the eyes of mortals, they might even consider him the Son of Destiny."
The Old God Master's description was poetic, but Bai Cangshu frowned tightly.
This description didn't sound like a simple ability; it was more like a special characteristic that clearly exceeded the dimension of ordinary power.
Moreover, the description [Son of Destiny] couldn't help but make Bai Cangshu think of the category among the special [card] mentioned by the Professor – the Twelve Heavenly Stems, bestowed upon the fated one.
Tsk, this world is really getting more and more interesting.
Bai Cangshu was also pointed to the location of the contemporary Tsuchimikado Clan by the Old God Master. As the sun was setting, he arrived at this large mansion nestled among the mountains and forests.
As the direct descendants of [Abe no Seimei], the Tsuchimikado Clan almost represented the highest level of Japanese Onmyodo.
But the mansion was quite deserted at the moment.
When Bai Cangshu arrived, there was no one guarding the mountain or announcing visitors. He thus grandly came to the center of the Tsuchimikado Clan's ancestral land and met the white-haired contemporary head of the Tsuchimikado family, [Tsuchimikado Ochiai].
Incidentally, he also saw the long-haired man standing behind Tsuchimikado Ochiai, wearing a Xuan Se-colored cassock.
Intense killing intent and hostility instantly surrounded Bai Cangshu. A chilling aura, like a swamp, enveloped Bai Cangshu.
Bai Cangshu turned back and saw that a gigantic bird-shaped Cursed Spirit was blocking the path at the mountain gate where he had come from.
And outside the courtyard wall, a plump female Cursed Spirit with her face completely hidden was also floating on the wall.
"Head of the Tsuchimikado family, your ancestral land isn't as deserted as you said, is it? Another guest has arrived."
Tsuchimikado Ochiai looked up and examined Bai Cangshu. Just as he was about to say he didn't know the other party, he suddenly noticed the emblem in the other party's hand.
"This... this person does seem to be someone who has shown kindness to our Tsuchimikado Clan, perhaps a descendant."
He stood up and bowed with difficulty towards Bai Cangshu.
"This distinguished guest, our Tsuchimikado Clan always remembers any benefactor who has ever lent us a helping hand."
He knew that such emblems were only issued during the Taisho era by the family, along with other Onmyodo and Shinto forces, to those who had provided exceptional help to them.
"In the past, if you came holding this emblem, we would surely be able to grant you what you seek, but now..."
He looked at his dilapidated mansion and the empty ancestral land, his face showing sorrow.
Xia Youjie waved his hand, and the Special Grade Cursed Spirit, Tamamo-no-Mae, slowly disappeared. He curiously examined Bai Cangshu, only feeling that the eyes and posture of the person in front of him vaguely reminded him of someone.
That mouth corner that seemed to carry a hint of mockery at all times, and the slightly tilted-back posture with the habit of looking at people with his lower eyelids.
Tsk, such an arrogant look.
Bai Cangshu also recognized Xia Youjie, thinking that this so-called savior was indeed not a fool, as he had actually found the true core problem of the [City of Silence].
"You've misunderstood, Tsuchimikado, I didn't come to ask you for anything; I just want to ask you."
"That [Lord Taishan], who exactly did you give it to?"
Xia Youjie's expression changed slightly. He had indeed realized that the power which caused Gojo Satoru's demise and even turned the entire Tokyo into a place of silence was not sorcery, but Onmyodo.
Furthermore, he had also placed his suspicion on these traditional noble families whose power had waned due to the prevalence of sorcery.
But this man, whose Cursed Energy constantly swirled like scarlet flames, actually blurted out the name.
"Lord Taishan?"
"Is that the true nature of that technique?"
The pitch-black Orochi appeared from the shadows and instantly coiled around Tsuchimikado Ochiai.
This was the era of sorcery. Onmyodo and such things, with the change of times and the decline of mystical power, had long been unable to compare with sorcery, a power rooted in human emotions and fear.
Mystery would fade, but human emotions and fear grew increasingly vast with the development of civilization.
Xia Youjie's eyes narrowed, the curve dangerous.
Bai Cangshu looked at the distance between Xia Youjie and himself at this moment, which was only about seven meters.
He took a step forward.
"Mr. Sorcerer, before I get my answer, you'd best not do anything unnecessary."
"I, you see, am very dangerous."
His mouth curved up, revealing a similarly dangerous smile.
Xia Youjie glanced out of the corner of his eye at this unfamiliar sorcerer whose Cursed Energy was not particularly outstanding, and did not take the other party's threat seriously.
Although the nature of the other party's Cursed Energy did seem good, it was ultimately just the amount of Cursed Energy a normal sorcerer possessed.
He reached out and grabbed Tsuchimikado Ochiai's neck. The elderly Tsuchimikado family head was lifted up powerlessly, letting out a whimper.
Xia Youjie looked at Bai Cangshu calmly, and just as he was about to speak, he saw the other party raise his left foot and stomp down fiercely.
Bang!
The ground shook violently. Xia Youjie's eyes changed, and the other party's trace was already lost in his pupils.
This movement, this speed, reminded him of some unpleasant things.
Xia Youjie suddenly dropped Tsuchimikado Ochiai, and the several pitch-black, Orochi-like Grade 1 Cursed Spirits also simultaneously crawled towards his back.
Many people actually misunderstood Xia Youjie, thinking he was the type who relied on Cursed Spirits for combat.
But in reality, Xia Youjie's physical techniques were very strong. In terms of physical ability alone, Gojo Satoru was not as good as him.
As the strong wind hit him from behind, he instantly turned around, Cursed Energy flowing, and threw a punch.
Bai Cangshu indeed instantly appeared behind Xia Youjie. He had no reaction to Tsuchimikado Ochiai who was thrown to the ground. As Xia Youjie's punch, wrapped in intense Cursed Energy, came, Bai Cangshu merely tilted his head slightly.
Pfft!
Xia Youjie's throat ached, and his windpipe was instantly hit by a hand chop.
The sound of cartilage shattering rang out, and only then did he realize what had happened.
This guy...
The other party instantly appeared behind him. Facing his punch, the other party's speed didn't decrease at all. By merely tilting his head, he dodged his fist with the most precise movement, and then, in the instant he stepped past him, delivered a hand chop to his throat.
There were no unnecessary movements. With just the most suitable speed and the most suitable strength, he was knocked down with a single blow.
When Xia Youjie fell, the three pitch-black Orochi Cursed Spirits had just reached Bai Cangshu.
Cursed Energy also appeared on Bai Cangshu's hands. He looked down at Xia Youjie and said,
"See? I told you I'm very dangerous."
