---Selena's point of view---
It's hard to be an ordinary girl living in poverty. I'm not pretty or that smart, and I don't have any privileges. I don't have anything to be proud of. I'm not smart. In elementary school, I was always ranked near the bottom, and I almost didn't graduate. When I was in junior high school, I realized that if I didn't study, I might not become anything, so I became diligent in my studies, joined extracurricular activities, and I hope that one day I will be useful to society.
It's break time, but I want to spend my time studying in the library. I don't have money to buy books, so I'm making good use of the library's books.
Many of the students at this school hope they can get a scholarship and go abroad for a better education and life, including me. Helena used to want to apply for a scholarship too, but she was afraid she wouldn't get it, and what if she had to go abroad and leave me and our parents, so she didn't apply.

Selena sat in one of the corners of the library when one of her friends came over. Her name is Maria, and she was quite privileged. Her father... let's just call him a public servant in uniform, i don't want to explain his job in detail. But so many of us didn't trust those people.
Maria sat next to Selena and asked. "Are you really going to apply for the scholarship?" Ask Maria.
Selena nodded. "Yes. Being ordinary is far from being ordinary in a negative way. I want to be useful and be able to go to a better school."
Maria patted Selena's shoulder and smiled. "I will support you. I hope you can get a scholarship, a full scholarship, and go abroad so that one day you can get a good job and make your family proud."
Selena smiled. "Thank you."
Maria was silent for a moment. "I also want to get a scholarship and go abroad, but I can't leave my mother and siblings."
Maria's relationship with her father isn't very good. Sometimes her father is abusive toward Maria's mother, even though he's a public servant. But Maria's mother doesn't want to divorce her father because she's thinking about her children. What if they grow up without a father? That's a stupid decision.
Staying with an abusive person? Hell, no. Selena will choose to go away and drown herself in the ocean rather than stay with him.
But, well, people will still blame Maria's mother for marrying someone like that instead of blaming Maria's father for doing such things.
Selena hugged Maria. "You should go to a good school and a good university, get a decent job, and take her mother and siblings away from there. Someday, if i truly leave this country, i hope we can still be friends even tho we're far apart."
Maria nodded. "Yes, we will always be friends."

The graduation exam day is getting closer, and so is scholarship registration. After applying for the scholarship, Selena still had to take an exam to be awarded the scholarship in order to be admitted to the Royale Edelstein Academy. There were at least three types of exams he had to endure to get in there.
Many people were making fun of her, and she was also aware of why people looked down on her. A girl from a poor family, without privilege and not very smart, it was impossible for her to get a scholarship and enter the prestigious academy. But that became her motivation to study hard so that if she passed the scholarship exam, so those people would shut up.
The obstacles don't stop there. One of the countries with the weakest passports in the world, so he needs a lot of documents to process his passport and visa. And it takes him several months for his passport and visa to be ready.
Selena's already preparing the document because he believes he will pass the scholarship exam since she has studied hard. The school exam is getting closer, and she spends a lot of his time in the school library or at the city library.
One of the things that makes the letter difficult is the difference in language and culture. Selena has already learned about the language and culture in Vienstorian. She also learned their language because to get a scholarship, prospective students must be able to speak Vienstorian language , even if they are not very fluent. Her mother gave her Vienstorian language dictionary as a gift for her 14th birthday.
Selena opened her laptop and watched a video on how to pronounce Vienstorian words like a native speaker, but it's really hard. Kirana was pulling her hair, she was very frustrated.
"I can't give up now, especially since I've come this far." Selena said to herself.
She opened Royale Edelstein Academy website. They have nice school uniforms that look fancy.

Selena imagined herself in the uniform. "I will look so cool in the uniform." Selena smiled. She wants to be accepted for the scholarship and go to that academy. "Wait for me." She said. "I will wear that uniform."
