{AURORA'S POV}
The streets of Heron were almost empty now. A cool breeze brushed through the street, carrying with it the faint scent of roasted chestnuts from a nearby vendor closing up for the night. Most shopkeepers were already pulling down their shutters, calling it a day. The laughter and noise that filled the city earlier had faded, leaving only the echo of our footsteps on the cobblestone path.
Leo walked quietly beside me, his hands in his pockets. I didn't feel like talking—not yet. My thoughts were still tangled around his words from earlier.
"Look into your heart, Aurie. Ask yourself how these friends of yours make you feel when you're with them. That'll tell you everything you need to know."
It sounded simple when he said it. But it kept replaying in my mind, over and over again, silencing the noise in my head that had been there for the past few days.
